Scheduling is months out, they change the appointment times without giving personal calls to see if…read moreyou are okay with the change. What happens is when I leave I set up our next appointment, I put it in my phone and on my planner. Then 2-3 days prior the appointment they text and call you with a new appointment time. If you don't double check the appointment times well you are screwed. In my past experiences with other offices they give me a personal phone call before moving my appointment times. Common courtesy I thought. Now this is partly my fault, I had an appointment scheduled, they changed the time by about 20 minutes and in my head I had the old time. So we where 10 minutes late, what really irritated me is when we got there we then sat in the waiting room another 10 minutes! When she took us back and tried to get x-rays on my son he moved his tongue twice, she gave up after trying. I asked her to try again, my son does fairly well with appointments and would have likely gotten it the third time. She told me because we where late it had cut into our appointment time. I may have been 10 minutes late, but they let us sit in the waiting room 10 minutes after our arrival. If she would have taken us back right as we arrived then told me they didn't have the time because of our tardiness I would have accepted that because, yes I was late. I don't appreciate being told she couldn't try again because we where late when they left us in the waiting room an extra 10 minutes. Those ten minutes of us sitting was time she could have used to get his X-ray. Also this says a lot about the businesses punctuality, if I would have been there on time and early would I have sat in the waiting room 20-30 minutes? Likely because that's what they have done to us before. My son has a molar that is completely broken, broken to the point of nerve exposure. It doesn't hurt him thank goodness, but it could still abscess even though the nerve is likely dead. I scheduled him unfortunately the appointment could not be for another two months, his appointment was with Nitrous (just because it's a larger tooth in the back). They texted my 3 days prior confirming my appointment, and yes the time had been moved yet again. Then not 30 minutes after I confirmed by text I got a call saying they needed to reschedule my son because the doctor in the office that day does not have a nitrous certification and the doctor that does only comes by 1-2x weekly. When I called back to ask for the appointment to take place without nitrous I was told that because of my sons "behaviour issues" (AKA the fact that he moved the film with his tongue and wiggled when she tried to take the X-ray, like a NORMAL child) they could not complete treatment without nitrous. I'm a previous dental assistant, and I'm appalled that this is how they run their office. I can say based on my experience my son is one of the more easier patients to work on. Again a child needs to be walked through treatment, not given up on after two, frankly, half heart attempts then labelled as having behaviour issues. If this office would take the time to look back to his first appointment he had a tooth extracted and didn't have any issues. Again someone who has previously worked in the dental field I found it unsettling when they asked for health history details in the hygiene/exam alcoves which are open to 3 other alcoves. The mother sitting with her son on the opposite side could hear the questions being asked. I got up from my seat and went to stand by the dental assistant to answer her questions so they would not be over heard. Any personal information questions asked in a open setting for others to hear is a HIPAA violation. The doctor who completed my sons first extraction was great, did a fantastic job! The assistant who cleaned my sons teeth was not as fabulous, children require more explanation, and she explained nothing to him. He did fine, but most children need explanations to feel comfortable. Considering all this I am finding a different dentist for my son, and will not be recommending this office to anyone in the Hermiston area.

Great dental group. Very patient with children and all of the staff are so kind. Definitely…read morerecommend!

For whatever…read morereason the past few years it's been really hard for me to get an appointment with him specifically. Because I really needed an appointment, I agreed to see Dr. Rhoten. Dr. Rhoten is fine for regular dental business, but I would advise against using him for a occlusal guard. I had regular jaw pain before, but I was in life altering chronic pain for months while trying out the guard and getting adjustments. Even though I shelled out hundreds on the piece I had to start using my old retainer piece just to function. He's a fine person and regular Dr., but please use caution in regard to jaw issues. This experience was very upsetting and I will not be returning because of it.

I usually just fall asleep. The hygenist that I get rotates, so I don't have much to say there other than everyone I've seen has been good. I usually see Dr. Han, who I'm definitely a fan of. The dude plays practical jokes on the other staff members (which can make your appointment more entertaining than you were expecting it to be). I've been through a root canal with them, and I think they were pretty good about it, though I don't have any other experience to compare it with. It took 4 hours (Dr. Han's record), and it wasn't awful. They're also willing to work the system for you, so that's pretty sweet.
