I'd been abused, and later, after finally finding a safe home, someone broke in... and I was beaten again. I don't trust easily. I bark when I feel unsafe. I protect my space fiercely. I need distance from other dogs--not because I don't care, but because I care too deeply and don't know how to show it safely. But my human understood. They walk me on a 6' lead, often shortened to 2'. They sit on the ground beside me when I'm overwhelmed. They give me time, space, and safety to choose connection. That's how I learned how to say: "If I turn sideways and offer my shoulders or my butt... you can touch me." It's not much, but it's my way of saying "I trust you." And Justine listened. On October 4, 2023, Justine became my personal walker once a week. My human told her the truth--every challenge, every warning. She had every reason to walk away. But she didn't. She stayed. She followed my signals. She gave me 15 minutes. Now we do 30-minute walks once a week. She must really love me. Then, on January 2, 2024, I met Laura--and fate stepped in again. I didn't know she worked with Justine. Now I have two amazing humans who take me out twice a week. They get me. They give me time. And I give them my trust. To the anxious pups, the misunderstood cats, the shy reptiles, the quiet rodents hiding under blankets: You are NOT broken You are NOT too much You just need the right people who will wait for you to feel safe I'm Yogi. I wrote exactly what happened and to make people aware of what could happen to their pet. No loving dog parent would want their beloved dog to visibly shake, cry and be traumatized even for a little while. My dog was shaking, and crying with visible nicks and cuts for a week after his over priced grooming at this animal hospital. When I called them to let them know about what happened, the staff said to take him for a walk. That did not cure him. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO THIS HOSPITAL. Pros: 1. The vets are very friendly and the staff is reliable during vet visits, for medication and how to give it to the dog. I got an appointment on the spot and they treated my dog within minutes. 2. The vets are knowledgable and give you all the information. 3. Friendly staff. Cons: 1.They don't know how to correct matted fur and they suggest to shave the dog. Puppy Love Dog Grooming at Downtown Brantford know how to cure matted fur and they charge way less. 2. They traumatized my dog when I gave him for grooming the 3rd time. His balls were blue, he had nicks and cuts, he was visibly shaking and wimpering. IDK if the staff mistreated him or the staff who handles him was new and hence I won't recommend their grooming. 3. To cut his hair, give him a bath and trim his nails, they charge $200. Puppy Love Dog Grooming charges way less than $200. 4. Due to the extremely negative grooming experience, I prefer to not board my dog with them as IDK how they will treat him.

That said, he is different from other dogs and while he is quite friendly and gentle, does not see or hear cues from other dogs. That simply means he needs some additional attention. They give it in spades, and with love. They have indoor and outdoor facilities, and simply are the best!

In the two days prior he was less perky and we hoped this was temporary (good days and bad days), but within 24 hours CatNap contacted us to advise of decline. They took our baby to the vet and we very sadly agreed it was time to relieve suffering. Obviously not being there in last moments was absolutely devastating & heartbreaking for us. When we returned and came in to settle bill, they waived everything. This was so unexpected and touching. Gestures like this are so so rare these days. I'm tearing up writing this. THANK YOU AND MUCH LOVE TO THE STAFF, WE WILL NOT FORGET XO

CatNap cottages took excellent care of our 2 cats for a week over the holidays. The cats were…read morehoused in a little "cottage" with a ledge and a window facing outside, and we brought their bed which went inside. The litter box was far enough away from their bed and food dishes and the cottage was clean. You could tell the employees really love cats and they took time to play with the animals according to the instructions they meticulously recorded when we made our arrangements to leave them. Both cats were well groomed (i.e they had been brushed) and were just lazing about in their cottage when we came (a little early) to get them. None of the cats in the place seemed overly stressed. There was also a larger play area where they let the cats out to play - but not with other cats. Overall I was really at peace with leaving my pets in the care of the staff at CatNap. I called a few times while I was gone and they patiently answered all my questions and even went to look to see what teh cats were doing while I was on the phone. They kept great notes on their activities (eating/drinking/litter box business). Price was $14.99 per cat, per night, so it wasn't cheap, but at least we were able to relax on our holiday, knowing they were taken care of so well.
