He came out a few days later, arrived at the planned time and proceeded to make quick work of the stumps. He has the "right" equipment. I had run up on a few more small stumps that appeared after getting rid of some brush and he knocked them out for a fair add-on. He could have gouged me because it was obvious they needed to be gone, but he was fair and reasonable. My wife was ecstatic, so everyone was happy. When we had our house built, I wanted to keep the trees (pines) close to the front of the house. They were smallish and the only trees in our yard. Fast forward 29 years, the trees were huge and a source of fear for me during every high wind and storm. My husband and I contacted The Best of Rome 2020 Winner for Tree Service to solve the problem. We were impressed from the beginning with Walker's Tree Service. Stephen Walker passed muster when he arrived on time to give us the quote to remove the trees. We liked him from the very first and knew he would be the right pick for us. His crew was impressive too. They were here on time and started the job of removing the limbs and tops of the 12 plus trees. They worked together like a well-oiled machine. The expertise and professionalism were very evident in their work. I held my breath when the cutter brought down the trees. He was impressive in that he made it look easy. The father and daughter tree trunk grinder team quickly removed all traces of the stumps. All of the crew worked together to clean up the evidence of the tree removal from the yard. I been doing treework for 15 years. This is by far the most unsafe company i have ever worked for. I have also witnessed him lie to homeowners many times about trees being dangerous that where perfectly fine. I quit due to this and steven walker refused to pay me. He told us the day he would be there (the following week due to the holidays) to do the work. Not only did he come when he said he would, he contacted my husband prior to coming to ask a few additional questions. To get to the source of the leak and repair it, he had to dig a 4 foot deep hole along the foundation at the front of our house and remove a shrub in the process. He was able to repair the pipe and fix the leak while making it look like we never had a hole in our yard! He put the shrub back, filled in the hole, and it looks amazing.
