I've been taking my Mini here for years for all servicing and I am always happy with the service and work. Marc and Bret are awesome- they are informative, friendly, and honest. I never feel like they are trying to sell me something I don't need, on the contrary they actually council you not to have addition work done until it's needed. Whenever I call to make an appointment they can usual fit me in that day. They order my parts ahead of time so the wait is minimal. Furthermore they provide shuttle service if needed so you don't have to waste time sitting and waiting. They are always kind when fielding my incessant and ridiculous chicks-know-nothing-about-cars questions, and answer with clarity and humor. Their prices are very competitive if not the cheapest around, and there is no price tag I could put on the peace of mind that I'm not being shaken down. The same replacement work with the nearby similar repair stores is ranging from $500-600. Low quality and cheap parts they ordered, high labor cost they charged you with unauthorized and un-necessary services. You paid double price and received cheap parts and poor service. It is a very very terrible, horrible car repair store without business reputation and trustworthy. I will not come to this store anymore.

After the proper repair was performed at a different shop, they admitted the mistake, and refunded their fee, paid for towing, and over half the car rental. They were very professional, and did their utmost to make up for our trouble. If you live in this area, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND State Street as they truly are honorable and overall competent. GMM A frustrating experience. My daughter's Subaru Impreza had a bad front differential with front wheels skipping on turns. Another shop replaced both front axles and U joints, though only one was bad. A very nice service manager, John Turnbull told me they could take the transmission apart and check the front differential in the manual transmission assembly. My daughter drove 1 hour to their shop, had to rent a car, etc. I then was told the right front axle (one U joint-inner or outer not specified) was bad. After a 3 way call with my original shop, and learning that State Street now could NOT take the transmission apart, we had to tow it back to her hometown. The original shop again replaced the R front axle, but the problem persisted due to the bad front differential. We had to expensively replace the the differential/transmission-original shop credited us for all axle labor. My complaint is 3 fold: 1-I was led to believe they could work on the actual front differential after their diagnosis confirmation 2-misdiagnosis of U joint malfunction when I specifically stated most likely front differential problem with 2 new front axles 3-Free diagnostic checkup suggesting services too soon, and services clearly performed in service book left on front seat. I had requested refund for their inaccurate diagnosis work June 15 and John said he would look into request.

They charged $138 diagnosis which amounted to turning on the fan, without applying that to the $1000 bill. Additionally, they said it would be best to replace the original blower and for only $40 above the cost of the cheap motor they would install a Delco brand. When I picked the truck up the blower was only putting out half of the force it should. Neither Jim or the mechanic had a solution. Once I got home I pulled the motor and found that it was not a Delco but a generic and there was still some debris in the system. Lori emailed me the invoice and I also found a $46 charge for an engine air filter which was never discussed nor relevant to what I contracted to have done. I sent this information to Lori asking for a follow-up call and have heard nothing. Apparently, I can no longer trust the people at Hal's.

For the GWC Warranty that came with the vehicle was proving to be useless. I came here to meet Baba on 8/23/18 at approx 3pm. We spoke. I told him of my issues. Including the fact that I had a OBDII scanner that told me the codes. He immediately informed me that he will fix the ABS issue but the check engine light he does not tackle since it shows a possible major engine repair. He was honest. You don't find many honest mechanics anymore. He also told me should I go buy my own parts he will install. I got my parts from Larry's Auto Parts on Ford Rd Garden City. I will review them too. Got my parts in 1 hr. Not 3 days as Autozone would do. Today 8/24/18 the next day my vehicle is on their lift getting the part replaced. No 2 week wait. Almost immediately. I love immediate while I wait. Most mechanics want you to drop off your vehicle. And they will call when done. Great if you have a ride home or some other course. Not so great when the vehicle on the lift is your only ride. This is getting done while I wait. I got here at 9am. Vehicle was on the lift at 9:30am and they are finishing her up now at 10:15am while I review this place. My new mechanic for all my vehicle repairs minus engine issues. And yes I will refer this place to all my friends and family for their vehicular needs.

On one repair they forgot to torx bolts and the wheel almost came off while driving. They towed it to their shop. After one more failure (still under warrantee) they told me they were no longer interested in working on my car and towed it back to my house. I filed a compliant with the "Better Business Bureau". Stay away from here.
