The first day was a hot, sunny day. The man who came aerated my lawn. He told me that he was too tired to do anything else and he was going home. He wanted to be paid even though he had not completed the treatment. I already had a check made out to him for the aeration, as well as the spraying; so I showed it to him and told him that I would give it to him when he completed the work. He was supposed to come back the next day. Next day - no show or phone call. The third day someone came and completed the treatment and accepted payment. I fired them, but someone came at another time to treat my lawn. I told him that they had been fired. I would have continued to work with them except for the old guy who came out first blighted the whole experience.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of paying him upfront before inspecting the work. After I contacted him, he apologized and promised to come back, but despite multiple attempts to follow up, he never returned. My advice: either don't use him or, if you do, never pay until the work is 100% complete. Unfortunately, this one was on me.
