U-Haul Moving & Storage of Savannah Ogeechee - Rentals on the lot after we arrived the 2nd time

We requested the virtual check out as we needed the truck before hours. Luckily when we arrived there was an employee available because the virtual check out wasn't working. She was able to get us figured out, because the online number had very long wait times to even speak with anyone.

They did not honor our reservation by renting our reserved vehicle out from under us to a walk in earlier that morning and while talking to them at the counter about this they were very rude and blamed the entire sell-out issue on us because our reservation time was later in the day (10am, which was the earliest available reservation online) and because we had not walked in when they opened up (7am). We opened a CAF with the reservation manager and shortly after talking with them we decided to go back to the location to see if they had finally had an available rental, which was something we were promised to get later in the day. When we went back they had two trucks on their lot of the length that we reserved and 5 other trucks of different lengths. So we went inside to inquire about them and were rudely told that we could not rent these vehicles even though they were on the lot and were subsequently told to come back tomorrow and try again. We called and updated our CAF with the manager who told us we will be speaking with a General manager within the next 3 days. Which is a step in the right direction, is unfortunately too late for our move this weekend. It is very humorous to me that their dial tone waiting music says something to the extent of "to keep our promises to you, we will be recording this call". Instead U-Haul, you can keep your promises to your customer by honoring your online reservations and treating your customers with respect.

I'm a chick and most people are going to roll their eyes at a review on a mechanic shop by a chick. But! I used to be a jet mechanic on F16's in the Air Force, soooo I'm not completely wet behind the ears when it comes to maintenance and tools. But I digress, let's get on with this review. First impressions: excellent. Dan took my numerous phone calls, was very professional, courteous, answered all my questions and accepted my drop order of rear rotors and brakes for my Lexus. Trinity Motor Sports shop: clean, comfortable, with a tv and several car magazines to keep a customer busy, and had water and coffee to boot. Service: excellent, my car was done in less than an hour, I did however drop it off right at 1000 when they opened (Saturday hours). Vehicle performance: brakes and rotors are smooth as silk now, AND I still have my locking lug key (yes, people have forgotten to give it back) cough cough "Lexus" Anywhoo, I'm usually doing my own work on my car, but this time I needed the job done while I was out of town. I now know where I can go "if" I ever have any issues with my car while working in Savannah. Dan, thank you for working on my "baby" I LOVE my Lexus and I trust very few people with working on her.

At the time, my vehicle had a custom engraved bullet antenna installed valued around $200-$300. When I picked the vehicle up later the same day, the antenna was gone. After reviewing my dash cam footage, it clearly shows the antenna on the vehicle when I left my residence and drove directly to the shop. After leaving the shop, I stopped at a car wash where their entry photos show the antenna was already missing. I contacted the shop to try to resolve the issue, but was told their security footage does not go back far enough and they declined responsibility. I'm not accusing anyone directly, but the antenna disappeared while the vehicle was in their possession. Just sharing my experience for transparency so other customers are aware.

An arrangement was made for us to go to the Concord, NC location since it was closer to our home and the staff at this locations was just as bad. I hope for Camping World's sake they can get their internal Problems worked out so they can provide better customer service. Update after Camping World's comment below. My husband has sent Camping World's customer service multiple emails and had multiple phone calls with customer service. To this date (several months later) the issues have not been resolved.

I was going to have it checked by an independent but couldn't find anyone who would do it so I took the dealers word and their 150 point inspection. Got there for my 1000 mile drive back and the statement that it was stored inside except for the last couple of months was untrue, the generator did not work, solar did not work, auto levelers did not work so I will assume the only thing that was inspected was my check. I should have walked away but it is a nice unit so I accepted they would take care of the issues. After five hours everything seemed to work except the auto levelers but I was assured they would take care of it and had called to have it fixed. Turns out they didn't get the necessary information so I needed to find it. I was told someone would call me and walk me through where to find the information but they didn't call and followed up with dealer who basically had no interest in making things right. Bottom line is get an inspection, believe nothing you are told and expect to have any work done yourself. If you don't feel right about your purchase, walk away.

A small thing is to make sure that they quote the correct pricing and errors are not showing on the dash before you leave. There were some nuts that he had forgotten to put on but could not take the bumper off due to having to get more plastic rivets, and did let me know that I would have to bring my car back. Our refrigerator was not working on the propane side. They diagnosed a problem with the propane supply hose and returned the next day to replace it. They also installed gutter extensions so that our air conditioner run off doesn't drip on the side of the coach. There ended up being an issue with the third project, but they handled it very professionally. The leading-edge of our roof membrane was not originally installed properly and the wind was starting to get underneath it and was pulling it back from the front cap of the fifth wheel-- potentially a huge problem. Fortunately, Primo noticed this when installing the gutter extensions. I brought the rig into their shop to have it fixed and they basically reattached the roof membrane as it was. When we arrived in Charleston after leaving Savannah, I rechecked the roof and found it again separating from the front cap, as it was before the repair was done. Bummer. Primo offered to drive up and redo the repair--a five hour round trip! Not wanting them to have to do this, I decided to fix it myself with some advice from Primo on how to do it differently. They walked me through the process, and then refunded the entire cost of the original repair. I would file this experience under "stuff happens." It would have been nice if the original fix had held, but I don't think their guys fully understood the nature of the problem and what was needed to prevent it; my drive to Charleston made the problem clear. It wasn't fun doing the repair in the summer heat, but I now feel more comfortable that it will hold in the long term and am happy that I essentially got paid for doing the work because of Primo's willingness to stand behind their work. I would not hesitate to do business with them again.

This would tie up my fax machine and use up my toner and paper. I called and asked him to quit and he became verbally abusive. I instructed my secretary to to tie up his fax machine for the next 4 hours with copied dictionary pages. This angered Ol' Roy and he offered to come over to my office and kick my ass. Although I accepted his offer, and tried to schedule him an appointment, he never materialized at the front desk so I just let it go. I knew he was an ass but my wife tells me quite often that I am as well. They really do have a good parts selection however. I needed to rebuild my boat trailer several years later. Thus I figured I would bring it to the store and they could sell me just what I needed so I wouldn't have any waste. His daughter waited on me and carefully recorded exactly what I needed. News flash... she counted wrong, sold me more than a hundred dollars of extra overpriced hardware, ( like WAY overpriced) and of course as you have read in other 1 star posts, would not offer a return. There was no consideration for it being her error of course. This is the reason I am absolutely certain that it was his daughter. She too is a pure bred whack job. The fruit never falls far from the tree Anyway skip to today. Savannah is not really that big of a town and bad news gets around or at least I hope it does. I just got back from Richmond Hill where I just bought a $5,200 equipment trailer from his competition. To summarize: Roy Newsome is an ass. His business reflects this and he treats his customers like we are all out to screw him so he will screw you first. Don't believe his 5 star reviews, they were internally generated. His 1 star reviews could hold up in court they are so accurate. Caveat Emptor.
