Very fun watching baseball, great food, friendly staff. Watching the Portland pickles is very fun and entertaining.

July 4th. Grass Berm. Double header - Pickles vs Rouges. I honestly cannot tell you who won because I saw less than 20% of the game. All around us were a ton of kids playing, screaming, crawling, laughing, jumping, playing with whiffle balls, beach balls and each other. If you have kids bring them to the berm and they will love you forever. We don't have kids but that doesn't mean you won't meet a few who might actually make you're day. Julia and her Dad were there tonight and she was quite the conversationalist for just being 4 - in fact that young ambassador saved the long, boring night for us. We didn't even stay for the fireworks which might just now being set off at 11:23pm (I don't honestly know since we left at 10:15pm with the arrival of the local fire rescue and the game was still going). If you like summer collegiate wood-bat league baseball then you'll like the Pickles. For me it was a bit campy with every inning including the Pickle Dance, the Chicken Dance and a variety of other mascot dances that just dragged the game along. I erroneously assumed we'd see those fireworks as soon as it got dark. Nope. They turned on the lights and made us sing "At the old ballgame". And sure if you're a 30ish patron who enjoys stumbling around on the grassy knoll as you guzzle down $8 glasses of cheap beer then this is ideal for you! I paid $3 for a bottle of water and it was not well worth it. Next year - St Paul rodeo or perhaps a date on the couch with TV fireworks. At least that way parking is convenient, I won't get grass stains on my shorts and the only kids screaming with be easily muted from the remote. Happy Fourth of July, Pickles!

It's a great park…read more No, it's not the fanciest park ever, not as nicely landscaped with ancient trees as some other parks in Portland, but yall are just spoiled if you need to rate this place as mediocre. Yes, homeless people often sleep in the field here under a tree. Cause, you know, they don't have a home. Cmon, Portland - have some compassion. One of my favorite things about this park is the diversity. We live across the street and bring our baby girl here often to play on the swings - almost every time there are folks here from many other countries. It's great to hear different languages spoken and to see lots of shades of little people playing games together and having fun. I can't help but speculate that some of you who rated this park lower are just a little creeped out by folks who aren't as white as the rest of Portland. Now, I can't prove that you're racist... It's just that Oregon has a totally racist history, and Portland is not exactly the most diverse of places. And honestly, if you're a racist tool, please stay away from the park where my daughter and her friends play. If you're comfortable with the reality that people from different backgrounds, cultures and economic statuses can hang out in a public place together, you'll enjoy this park. If you're scared of diversity, please go somewhere else. I hear parts of Siberia are quite nice this time of year.

A small but good play structure, with other at goodies: swings, big slide, merri-go-round, and monkey bars. It has a baseball diamond, basket ball courts and soccer field. Many a bball games go on at this park. I wish there were more picnic tables. Lengthy of trees keep parts of the park shady and cool, while the fields are free to play sports in. This IS NOT a dog park.

Ok this is a post renovation review... for people with smaller kids... so keep that in mind ehhh…read more We drove by as we do to get to the freeway and saw this mid construction. We saw these crazy new fixtures there and had to stop in when it was done. The new structure is AMAZING, maybe the best off the wall structure in the area, minus the massive wood ones (sandy, troutdale, washington park) The ground is so soft and bouncy, it has a hill with turf to slide down with boxes, it has just so much new cool items, and the area is really tuning around as Portland pushes east. Beyond that, why is this so cool? It has bike jumps, though many use it for RC cars/trucks. It has 3 full traditional play grounds on the property. It has a massive black top for ball sports, biking, skating, etc. It has an onsite bathroom. It is not a homeless park, so don't have to worry about all that as much. It is our new go to park, and i cant wait for better weather to get the BBQ out there. I would say to definitely try this park out and see the kids eyes light up. If you have any RC bring that swag too, you'll have fun!! PRO TIP: Keep it classy and clean up after yo damn self, the city isn't yo momma.
