After touring the gyms I came away with the impression that Stafford was by far the best gym in the area. The staff is superb and the gym and equipment are clean. None of that terrible "gym" smell that you often get at the gyms as they age. Beginning during the end stages of COVID restrictions, it was so nice to experience outdoor swimming, the hot tub, and social time with other members. Swimming is my main experience at the club so here is what you should know: * Six lane outdoor salt water pool that is open year round (I've done laps in the snow, sleet, and hail). * You can reserve four of the six lanes and it is very competitive to get times, especially during the warm weather months when you are competing for space with the swim team, swim lessons, and aqua aerobics classes. * The other two lanes are left open for first come first serve usage and swimmers are encouraged to share. * The outdoor hot tub is for 14+ over. I have only taken one yoga class at the club and all classes have you reserve your spot. If you cancel less than 12 hours in advance or are a no show, you are charged a $10 fee. Personally, I don't mind since the reservation system makes me accountable and if I don't have a reservation, I'm less likely to go workout. The club is a nice mix of serious athletes (I'm surrounded by masters swimmers and triathletes), retirees, and families. Prior to my membership, my teenage son was a member for two years and loved the weight room, sauna, and steam room. The club as been open for awhile and is definitely showing its age and is need of some maintenance upgrades in the pool area. That being said, I have been very happy with my membership here and the personal feel, literally being greet by name when entering and exiting, and the wonderful customer service. This club is very different from the large national chains, so to each their own. Definitely recommend a trial membership at this club as well as others in the area to see which is the best fit for you. The courts are in fantastic condition , the new lighting is amazing and now there are heated courts ! The management is hugely responsive to any request a forgotten can of balls for a usta match, a last minute racket restringing and court preference accommodations. The pros that teach at LOTC are top notch. The classes are fun and fast paced and have improved my game immensely. The people who play on the usta and City league teams are not only great tennis players but genuinely nice and fun to play with. I feel so fortunate to have such a tennis gem in this community.

Besides tennis, they offer multiple exercise classes, including yoga, pilates, and TRX. They also have a small fitness room (similar in size to what you'd find in a hotel: 1-2 treadmills, ellipticals, stationary bikes, and a small set of weights). I've been to several pilates classes and they're great. I'll be honest - it's 95% elderly people in the class. The workout is more catered towards ages 50+ so if you're young and fit you might be better off sticking to just tennis. There are a lot of tennis courts here and you have to book them before using them. However, people are pretty chill so if no one's using a court you can use it. They have tennis balls available to borrow too if you don't bring any. The courts are kept pretty cold (close to the outside temperature) but they do have large space heaters that you can turn on to warm it up. The facilities are pretty nice, too, so overall I'm happy to give this place a top score.

In March 2025, a female was verbally assaulted and threatened on the premises. Immediately following the assault, the incident was reported to the club's manager. The club's general manager's response was inadequate, and no consequences were applied to the aggressor. The individual who committed the assault (0b1r2i3@4n 0b1*2@3r4d0) is still permitted to remain at the club, thus posing a continued threat to other members. The victim finds the club management's disregard for their safety and well-being appalling. The management's negligence in addressing this serious matter was deemed inexcusable. The club management suggested the victim file a police report, but did not expel the aggressor. The victim asserts that the club fosters a male-dominated culture where violations of the code of conduct are ignored. The general manager's inaction is seen as indicative of their priorities, which, in the victim's opinion, do not include the safety and care of their members. The victim advises against trusting the general manager of the WAMclub, who swept the assault incident under the rug and acts as if nothing has happened -https://www.wamclubs.com/contact. In general, the club members are nice and the staff is friendly. Unfortunately, a few bad actors have downgraded the club's moral standards. It's a shame.

Some sections are historic, others examples of modern luxury (gated communities and all), but there are many neighborhoods filled with modest homes. Sunset Park is nestled in that part of town. And while newer parks like Tanner Creek have installed the latest equipment and amenities and have manicured lawns, Sunset Park is just your average community park in a natural setting. This 5-acre park is filled with old growth trees so there is plenty of shade and grassy areas to bring your dog for a game of catch. The play structure is small, partially shaded, and geared toward children six and under. They've also kept some of the old fashioned slides and swings which for some reason always make me a little nervous. There is a small water feature with jets that spray water up in an arch, but isn't terribly exciting for children. There is one tennis court, but it is alongside two basketball hoops, so I'm sure there is plenty of "oops, sorry" when both are in use. All the basics are covered, but no bells or whistles.
