Always Available Pet Sitting

We highly recommend Rose, Always Available Pet Sitting…read more Right from the beginning Rose was organized and business-like, taking note of the names of each pet, the amount of food, times of day to be fed, locations for food, treats, etc. Rose cared for our 4 dogs and cat for 9 days while we went on vacation. She did not hesitate to come an extra day when our flight was canceled last minute. Rose did a lot more than just feed our fur babies. She spent time playing with them as well as watching their behavior to make sure they got along and played together safely. (We have 3 large dogs and a small beagle.) She even called us to make sure we were comfortable with what she saw. She left notes from each day and also texted us notes and photos. It's clear Rose loves animals and has experience with animal behavior. We felt so much more at ease on our vacation knowing Rose was watching our pets. We will be using Rose's services again.

I asked about her insurance and she said it was on her website. I had already clicked the link on her website and searched the company site for her and she didn't come up. I told her that and she said she would give me a certificate. Red flag #2. She also said she didn't have a business license but was bonded, so that was another red flag. Then when i opened my mouth to ask a another question she interrupted and said that pet sitting is very simple, everyone wants to make it complicated but it is not. I started to ask about her cancellation policy letting her know that I book travel well in advance and one time a few months before the tour, the tour was cancelled. Since she asks for payment in full when the booking is made, I wanted to know how that worked in a situation like I just described. She said she only books 2 weeks in advance. That was red flag #4. Who books travel 2 weeks or less in advance? Then she said she could tell I wasn't ready to commit and picked up her purse. She was in my house less than 5 minutes! It was obvious she didn't want to give me the opportunity to ask any more questions. And even more interestingly, she did not seem to want to ask any questions, like where is the dog food, where do they eat,...y'know normal stuff a house sitter might want to know about. I'm not asking for a refund - she was adamant that there were no refunds before she arrived. Buyer beware!

Maisy's Mutts

I highly recommend Maisy's Mutts. We contacted Manni regarding some training and concerns for our…read morerecently adopted 2 year-old terrier mix. Manni was able to schedule us quickly which we were thankful for, as we did not want to be making any bad habits worse due to our pet inexperience. Once Manni arrived for the initial evaluation, it was obvious that he is highly skilled and knowledgeable. Our dog was freaking out worse than me or my husband had ever seen, but Manni was completely calm and professional despite all of the barking and growling. During the evaluation, Manni gave us tons of information on why our dog does the things she does and how to begin to correct the behaviors. By the end of the evaluation, he and our dog were also close friends. A couple of days after the evaluation, Manni emailed us our full comprehensive training plan. He has also been extremely available and responsive to our texts regarding questions that have popped up here and there. Yet another thing that I highly respect is that Manni didn't immediately lay out a multi-visit costly plan, as it seems like so many places are apt to do. It is obvious that Manni truly loves dogs and wants them and there owners to succeed!

He's very spoiled and gets separation anxiety (and me too...) so I wanted the best for him. I was considering Pets Hotel until i found out that they crate their dogs most of the day and barely play outside. Ollie doesn't like crates and loves to be around humans and other dogs. So, I did my research and came across Maisy's Mutts! We did a meet and greet 3 weeks before I had to leave for the weekend and it went great. I felt SO comfortable leaving Ollie with the family and Manni kept me updated every day with pictures which definitely helped with my separation anxiety (LOL!). Ollie loves them and he had so much fun with Maisy and their other furry friend. Manni is definitely my go-to boarding place!!!

The Pet Nanny - Drew and Masudi

Drew has been such an amazing cat caregiver for my crew of fuzzballs for the past several years…read morethat I've decided I can never move out of the area. If you're looking for someone with a genuine love of and connection to cats, who is very experienced with cat behavior and health issues, and who is supremely trustworthy and reliable - look no further than Drew. Before I met Drew I spent so much time on Yelp contacting other pet sitters in the area and they all seemed like they were mostly dog-oriented and just tolerated cats and would be only dropping by to make sure my cats were alive. Then I contacted Drew and I knew right away she was special - she actually adores cats and her primary concern is getting to know your cats' individual needs and quirks and providing the best comprehensive care possible while putting your mind at ease with daily checks-ins and photos. (She also owns a photography business and you can hire her for an epic pet photo session!) Drew regularly takes care of my guys, whether I'm busy for one day or away for a longer trip. Under anyone else's care, I'd worry about their individual dietary and behavioral needs - I have a picky older cat with anxiety and urinary issues, a goofy black cat with a sensitive tummy and a history of eating inedible objects and getting the occasional ear infection, and a young, spunky one-eyed cat who once had an injured leg. Not only has Drew gotten to know each of their personalities and connected with them like they're her own pets (they greet her at the door), she has expertly attended to their occasional extra needs and has on multiple occasions taken the time to talk me through my concerns about their issues. In addition to being a cat owner herself, Drew has experience working at clinics and rescues and volunteers her time at a cat sanctuary so I thoroughly trust her input and consider her a valued care companion and part of our pet family. My cats (and I) absolutely adore Drew and there's just no better feeling when you're away than total peace of mind that your fur family is receiving the best possible care. 5 stars, 10/10. Thank you, Drew!
