Slowest pharmacy anywhere. The pharmacy itself is too small and has little storage. They often are out of stock for my scripts and have to order. Both the drive-up window and instore pickup lines are long and slow. They are understaffed but even if they had enough staff there is nowhere to put them. The physical pharmacy space itself is tiny. The retail store is large; one would think that the pharmacy would deserve larger and more efficient space. The instore waiting area is not well lit. The worst thing, though, a pharmacist there told me that Eliquis and clopidogrel (Plavix) are the same thing. They are completely different drugs and act in different ways. Be careful of any advice you get from a pharmacist there. read more

Needed meds ready for pickup. Was assured that they would be ready the following day ... turns out they didn't even look to find out if the meds were available. When we returned we waited in drive through as the ONLY car there for 20 minutes to be told that these meds weren't available anywhere in the area until the following week. I should've known that this Walgreens is incompetent and unreliable as they've failed to deliver on other services in the past. Now we're without necessary meds and leaving the state. Good riddance you inconsiderate, consistently incompetent idiots. read more

Today was snowing in the morning. The roads are clean. The parking lot of Walgreen was NOT clean. It;s hard to park, hard to walk through the parking lot. Then you come to the store carrying tons of wet snow. The floors are terribly slippery. Most of the senior citizens are there, dragging their feet through the isles holding by he shelves because they are afraid to fall. What will the Walgreens do if somebody falls and sues them? Lo, as I did tread the aisle where soaps in abundance rest--fragrant bricks of lavender, rosemary, and milked honey--I beheld a sight most strange and wondrous: a man, noble in bearing, and of curious name--Brodius. Worst Pharmacy EVER!! Most of the time they have to order your prescription because it is not in stock (common scripts). You can never talk to the pharmacy let alone a pharmacist because when you call they put you in the "overflow" phone bank (according to corporate) and you are on hold for over an hour or more before you give up. I have had to call Corporate 3 times to lodge a complaint. I have spoken to other customers in line and they all have had the same experience. If you get your prescriptions here I recommend you switch. read more

Horrible pharmacy. I fill my prescriptions solely due to the fact they take my insurance and it is within close proximity. I have been filling the same prescriptions for over 8 years and have never had issues until I began using Walgreens on Hoosick. I have controlled substances that are filled monthly in which have been every couple months SHORTED by 8-15 pills. It has gotten to the point where I have to count my medications in front of the pharmacists. When proven that they were shorted I was informed they will be making a report and investigating the instances. I never was recompensated and had to go without my medications due to their negligence. Not to mention the hygiene, professionalism and disrespect of the pharmacy techs who work here. Why would I trust people who look disheveled and strung out?! If your insurance uses CVS I would stick to them!!!! read more

Worst pharmacy I've ever had to deal with. if you need medication within a 2 week window then go elsewhere. i feel bad for the decent pharmacists who have to work for this awful company who leave them understaffed and too cheap to get correct amount of supply. They are forced to delay, give partial fills and delay again and get calls off the hook all day long. Made a huge mistake coming back to this pharmacy after my other one shut down. Do yourself and them a favor and dont go there. Hope the pharmacists here get to work at better locations when this place eventually goes out of business. read more

worst experience! I went to pick up my child's medicine. I gave the insurance info I had. The one girl was nice and said this is not a prescription card. I said that's the only card I have. This other employee said I don't know what to tell you this is a medical card. she set my mood right from there. I got script insurance info from previous pharmacy and it's what they already had!! The medicine had to be ran which I get but no one was helping me. When no one was in line I refused to move cause I felt forgotten. the brunette that was rude (only white women working) started yelling at me "your not holding up my line". Everyone she helped got an attitude as well. read more

I've always found them outstanding as far as going to leave a blood sample at LabCorp. The staff also are very friendly and helpful.

Most all of the store staff is very helpful and friendly. There is a night manager that was apparently having a bad week and took it out on me. I didn't get rewards for a deal posted. He said " prove it". After explaining him the deal he went and looked and credited me. This was totally unavoidable and he has major attitude. read more

Brian, the pharmacist, was so helpful. My sister-in-law is visiting from upstate Ny with my elderly brother. who fell and needed a prescription. After hearing Alex was an esophageal cancer survivor (21 years) Brian discussed with the local doctor what antibiotic would be the most effective. Since Alex has difficulty swallowing capsules, a liquid antibiotic was recommended. Our family is grateful to Brian for taking the time to consider the risks involved and for his ability to have the prescription filled within the hour. read more

No pharmacy on weekends absolutely unacceptable. Don't offer pharmacy services if you can't follow through. Certain medications cannot be transferred which risks people's health on the weekend. Spend the money needed to keep the pharmacy open. This customer is done. read more

I've used Walgreen's since I lived in the Midwest & first encountered the pharmacy, and continued when I moved back to NY. Comparing the Troy Walgreens to 5 others that I've used over the past 30 years (in-state & out-of-state) reminds me that a well-trained, concerned staff makes all the difference in customer satisfaction and loyalty. For example, one of the pharmacists in Troy went out of his way to make sure that they could access a timely, adequate supply of one of my medications that seemed to have distribution problems at one point. One of the pharmacists often waves when she sees me at the drive-through or counter, and has been helpful when I have questions about meds. They contact me if they think that I'm running out of meds that I have on refill status, or if they're concerned about an allergy risk. The store is clean, organized, and the employees are generally courteous and helpful, to the point of asking if I need help locating a product sometimes. This is not the closest pharmacy or shortest trip for me, but knowing that they have my back on medications is worth the extra effort. read more

I have been using Walgreens Pharmacy in Troy for 8+ years now. The pharmacy staff is amazing! They go above and beyond for their customers. For example, the pharmacists are aware that I get a monthly prescription that cannot be refilled electronically, meaning that I must physically bring the script to be filled every month. They actually call me if they're running low on the medication I need (just a few days before I am due to drop off) to confirm that I have received a script from my doctor, so that they can go ahead and order my medication so that I won't have to wait a few days if I need it right away. The computer is not telling them to check on my refill because there's no prescription on file. They do this out of the kindness of their heart because they genuinely care about their customers. I have also run into several issues where my insurance wasn't covering the whole cost of a medication and they have worked very hard with my insurance provider to resolve the issue. Also, one night I went there to get a script filled for my son after just leaving the ER. I showed up right as the pharmacist was closing the gated windows for the night. The pharmacist asked me if it was something my son needed immediately, and it was. I was told to wait while they processed my son's script through the computer and then they so kindly filled it for me. I honestly felt horrible because this person then had to redo all of their nightly paperwork, but this pharmacist was more concerned with accommodating my 7 year old who was in need. The staff (especially the pharmacists), are very knowledgeable and friendly. Lonnie and Janelle really go above and beyond to help. One of the pharmacists even helped explain a question I had on a molecular drug project due in my chemistry class! Actually, the pharmacist explained it more clearly than my own professor did and that information helped me throughout the rest of the course. Unfortunately, my insurance now requires me to use a different pharmacy, who has not been nearly as helpful, personable, or educated in their field of work. Still, the Walgreens pharmacy staff always says a quick "hello" if they see me shopping around the store, and one of them still always asks how my chemistry class is going. Lol. This pharmacy by far has the best staff and provides the best service in the Troy area!!! read more
