I submit refill requests on time, but often receive automated texts stating a pickup date, only to later be told that date is inaccurate. (It's frustrating to be pushed to use the app by pharmacy staff, only to be told later that it's inaccurate or shouldn't be relied on for prescriptions. If it's not dependable, why require patients to use it?!?) This is extremely frustrating, especially since these are essential medications my son needs, not luxury items. For example, I submitted a refill request on April 16th and received a text saying it would be ready on the 18th (since they were currently out of stock). When I called on the 18th, I was told they didn't know when it would be back in stock. I called again on the 21st, after my son took his last dose, and was told it wouldn't be available until JUNE!!! That's a huge gap, and NO ONE bothered to communicated that to me!! This constant lack of communication has forced me SEVERAL time to have to travel to Elgin, just to fill prescriptions (which wastes so much gas). It's incredibly inconvenient and stressful when you're trying to manage necessary medication for your child!! I understand that stock issues can happen, but the inconsistency, lack of transparency, and need to constantly chase down information is unacceptable. I hope this location improves its communication and processes so other families don't have to go through the same experience. They act like its ordering bread not medications!! Maybe take notes from the Elgin pharmacy.

There is no leaving the counter to go to the shop to find a tech because of a lock door, no exit. Then first day there, all registers died, in the middle of my transaction. Second time next day no one was able to accept payment from a gift card but Joann from the customer service front desk. Joann was creative, cashed the gift card so I may pay cash and complete the transaction. To pick up vehicle was another wait at the front counter for a tech, when one arrived he said he had no cash and sent me to front customer service where Alex attempted to help. He was unable to transact an auto service at front took me back to auto center and when he was unable to complete transaction he called Coach Miguel which finally decided to take care of me by opening register drawer (had cash in it) refund the remaining and said he take care of paperwork later so I may leave store (took an hour to check out). The shop is less of a vitamin shop and more of a healthy living spot. The selection appears to extend well beyond supplements. I went here to refill on my daily supplement. The employee directed me towards the particular spot in the store, where only one brand was available. She appeared knowledgeable about the brand and manufacturing process. However, when I inquired further about the manufacturing standards and verifications, she was unable to answer. I only purchase supplements that have been verified for nutritional content, absorption, and safe manufacturing practices. There are two major laboratories that conduct independent testing. I inquired about both of these labs by name to the employee, but she was unaware of any verification labs that existed or that the supplements underwent testing. I am well aware that the FDA has little to no regulatory power over supplements, but independent testing is available for any brand to confirm that their product is genuine. Bottom line, the supplement line carried by Family Health has not been independently tested. I would not recommend purchasing from them. On the other hand, Family Health offers a wide array of health services and seminars for the new age medicine enthusiast. If you are into herbal remedies and non-traditional medicine, Family Health is right for you. If you just need some vitamins or supplements, find someplace else.
