Often times when we are in a pharmacy it is not during our best times. Sharon always made it easier with her empathetic & personal approach, combined with her professionalism, you never left the pharmacy without feeling both informed and cared about. There are other pharmacists, I'm sure many may be good, but there is only one Sharon. After 30 years of exceptional service, a trusted partner in our families health & well being, and an overall level of individual care that no other pharmacy could replicate, we are sad to see what has happened. While calling Olsson's this week to check on 2 prescriptions that I needed filled I was informed that they will no longer order the medicine that I needed filled. Abrupt discontinuation of my medications is widely known to cause severe, and in some cases, life threatening consequences. The FDA states that abrupt discontinuation of the medications I'm prescribed causes severe physical & psychological harm to patients. I did not want to stop taking my medications abruptly but due to the fact that my script is due on Saturday (tomorrow) it literally leaves me no time whatsoever to avoid what will now happen to me. I understand businesses change, new owners have their own way of doing things, I get it. Giving patients absolutely no notice regarding medications that will have severe negative life altering consequences due to the abrupt discontinuation is going to cause me more undue harm than I could begin to explain. My wife and I have contacted every major and minor pharmacy in the area and as it stands the earliest I could possibly get the medication is Monday. So that leaves me from now until hopefully some time on Monday to deal with the ramifications. Just a heads up for anyone in a similar position. My disability, which is both crippling me & will cause my death, becomes secondary in a sense to the challenges created by others. We're going to keep trying to find somewhere, anywhere, to get the meds I need but after 24 hours of already trying the chances of finding an acceptable alternative is slim to none. Thank you so much for adding to the stress, pain, and frustration that being disabled provides. I will make sure that I do not step foot in your store for the rest of my life

They denied having refills for my medications to transfer that I found out later from my doctors was NOT true! They wasted my time (at least 3 calls to the new pharmacy to determine status of transfer and the new pharmacy trying to access my Rx's by falsing stating they had no refills when the doctors had recently called them in on multiple Rx's.) Found them rigid and difficult to coordinate multiple medications. Asked them to stop automatic refills so I could time my medications so I could pick up all/most of them at one time, but they would continue to automatically fill and I would have medications waiting weeks on end because of it. I would get reminder calls to pick up and tell them I wanted to wait a week to pick up all when they were all ready to avoid multiple pick up dates and I'd get another reminder call the next week about the waiting medications. This happened multiple times. Was given misinformation several times, telling me to call my physician for refills they already had or that a refill was holding up an order when it was actually the timing of the next refill. I felt I spent a lot of time trying to coordinate my medications with them and just couldn't get a system down that worked. The fact that they don't have online access made it particularly dificult in my case where I have a lot of medications to coordinate and the only way to know what was what was to have to call the pharmacy each time (and in my cases as mentioned I was given the wrong information several times)

On New Year's Eve I had bronchitis it was 5 minutes after Franklyn Pharmacy had closed. But when I called, the pharmacist picked up. He said he would stay open until I could get there to pick up my prescription. You find big brand pharmacies doing that. I have a prescription for migraines that warehouses often run out of. They always track it down for me. I bought an elbow brace there and then wanted one for my other elbow. They had it in the store the next day. Because they are smaller, they make their own purchasing decisions. They don't have to go through layers of red tape or through corporate to get things in. The people that work there are friendly, know me by name, but respect my privacy. Whenever I call, a person picks up, not an automated voice mail system. They also have a pretty good greeting card selection so it's a good place to go when you need to pick out a card for occasions. Plenty of free parking in their parking lot. Really glad I switched to Franklyn Pharmacy, only wish I'd done it sooner.

Somebody from Pharmacy dept said they could do it by ordering to their supplier, and received my personal info to enter into their system. Upon getting confirmation from the Pharmacy, I gave their contact info to my doctor. My Doctor said they faxed the prescription yesterday. I called the Pharmacy a few minutes ago to check if they received the fax and when could I get my medicine. Responder (I think her name was Mariah per my best memory) was extremely rude and mean. I expected more professional and respectful attitude towards a patient whose only purpose is to be able get a medicine. She said "why don't you try another pharmacy" by laughing. There was nothing funny! I will never ever go there unless I receive an apology!
