Everything about the hair just falls correctly and the lines (which I never noticed before on other people who get their haircut at other places because there's nothing remarkable about it), are so perfect. He is literally in a completely different league than any stylist I've been to, and I've even lived in Los Angeles where there are a lot of really good stylists. I'm honestly surprised that no one has recruited him and offered him what I'm assuming would be way more than Ulta because of his talent. And this just isn't with a specific type of hair that is always fantastic. This is with all types of hair. People that have thick individual hair and a ton of it. People like me that have thin individual hair but a ton of it. People that have thin hair. Wavy hair, curly hair. He knows exactly what to do based on what you're looking for and your hair type and how it's gonna look for you. And it's always amazing to the point where people constantly comment on it - not just my hair, but my friend's hair as well. For those of you that have curly hair and are scared to death of finding hairstylists because most of them don't know how to actually correctly cut curly hair, know that you will be in safe hands with him and he will make you look fantastic, giving you a cut that is actually done in a different way than straight hair because he's learned that technique and also mastered it. I just know my friends that have gotten these three specific things in addition to their haircut and you can't help but look at it and go "wow". The ingredients are clean (20% of everything you put on your skin gets absorbed into your bloodstream, SPF is especially toxic and has been known to cause cancer all on its own). All clean SPFs I used before leave a white residue and they feel kind of chalky. I also like the lipsticks, I purchased the matte one, they feel like the MAC matte lipsticks but again, clean ingredients. They last about half a day (maybe more if you're not constantly drinking something), even through hot yoga.

One of my grandfathers died from skin cancer (Melanoma) in 2006 and my other grandfather had basal cell carcinoma. So, I started early in my teenage years with annual body scans looking for potentially cancerous spots. I had a number of spots taken off here when I first came in, those were elevated from the surrounding skin on my neck. I had other concerning spots removed later. Towards the end of my time coming here, they took a biopsy of a spot which turned out to be in-situ melanoma (skin cancer), however they directed me to a different doctor in California for follow-through since I had just moved there (this process was in 2015). Returning after the surgery, I got a dermatologist who was a little skittish that I was 23 years old and had already had skin cancer. It was not the biggest confidence builder, and making time on my visits to my parents to come here for an appointment drew away from family time, so eventually I found a new dermatologist(s) in California. Overall, my experience here was worthwhile, the doctors were consistently on-time, and I found the office space pleasant.

When you are going through the cancer diagnosis to the reconstruction process, it really does make a difference in a person's recovery to see other medical people smile & happy to see you. I had done a ton of reading on things it could be (I have a masters degree so I know how to do my research). I was told the clinic took my insurance (First Choice). I had my appointment and the MD spent maybe 15min at most with me, telling me things I already knew, only did a quick (15sec) look at my scalp, and said it's probably androgenic alopecia and offers a prescription to oral minoxidil and finasteride. Nothing special was done. I left the office and asked if there was anything I needed to pay and they said no. A month later I get a bill for $211! I call insurance and they tell me that since the MD billed under the diagnostic code for androgenic alopecia it wasn't a covered visit so instead of a $35 co pay I had to pay it all. They told me the billing code was for "moderate diagnostic methods at least 40min" which I do not agree was done. I feel this clinic should have communicated that such a common billing diagnosis wouldn't be covered by my common insurance. I understand that ultimately I should have checked with my insurance first, but I didn't know what diagnosis they would bill under. I will not be returning to this clinic.
