Been using Walgreens for years. Am looking for an alternate pharmacy. My hubs had heart surgery this week in Phoenix. Mayo called in a critically needed medication yesterday. We got a text this morning saying it was ready. When I went to pick it up, the bored tech said it WASN'T ready and wouldn't be till 2 days time as it needed to be shipped from some other location. I said you'll need to put a rush on it. It's a life or death med. She then said she'd get it ready and it would be available in half hour to pick up. She seemed annoyed that I had even asked. When we called to make sure that we could come pick it up we wound up talking to the pharmacist. He was pretty short with us, and when we told him we got a text saying it was ready he said he had no control over that. Sheesh. It's YOUR company and you represent the company. We only know what we know which was we were told it was ready. If it could Be prepared why were we told they didn't have it? He never apologized and neither did the tech. I went in to buy a sun block lotion & asked if they have a restroom for customers for emergency. The employee said no there was none. What kind of a drug store or Walgreens is it that doesn't offer a restroom for customers ???! Is that the store manager who decided on that policy ?? I go to Walgreens in Phoenix area all the time where I live. They always have a restroom for customers. I had to go to Safeway to buy things & used their facility. Came in for some electrolyte powder for our water since needing to stay hydrated from our hikes and the dryness in the air. Greeted by a friendly staff member upon entering and she was so quick to help me find what I was looking for. Great service! Plenty of parking and easy entrance and exit. My experience at Walgreens Pharmacy was extremely disappointing. I had booked an appointment for a vaccine, but upon arrival, I was told they could not see me because they were "very busy". I was told to call back the next morning to reschedule. The following morning when I called I was met with rudeness and the woman told me to make a new appointment online (again). Frustrated, I decided to drive 30 minutes to a CVS where I received excellent customer service and promptly got the vaccine I needed. Usually only one cashier working who couldn't care less about the line that's forming. There's never anyone at the photo section for FedEx drop off or whatever you need done with photos. Lines form but no one does anything about it. cashiers are either incompetent or just plain rude especially the unstable and emotional middle added woman that works there "Jessica". Seriously sorry you have to work at the worst Walgreens in the US but don't take it out on the rest of us who only have to shop here. This place is a disaster. I live in Sedona so I'm not a tourist. I've seen SANDRA be short and snippy and act like the customer is an imposition before, but never experienced it directly myself: until tonight. I placed a photo order and got a "order ready" email 3 hours before I arrived here. I saw photo boxes at the front so I asked, "Hi do I pick up photos here or the photo desk and press the service button?" Sandra annoyedly says "I'll be over to photo when I'm done." And takes care of two people who came in after me. I let it go. However, when they walked out and no one was there any more she slowly starts straightening gum while I'm waiting. I let her do that for 30 seconds and when she goes behind the counter again. I asked, "excuse me! Were you the one who was going to help me?" I'd been waiting for 5-10 minutes at this point. She snips back at me, "hit the photo button!" I say, "what?? That's what I asked you as soon as I got here? Why was I waiting? I asked you that as soon as I arrived." She says, "Don't yell at me, I'm busy." I say, "straightening gum?!" Finally Ken, who I assume is a manager, and doesn't apologize, instead defends her because he said she's "sure she didn't mean it intentionally." After I said I don't appreciate being yelled at when I've been patiently waiting, and she tells me something to do I asked in the beginning. Ken then proceeds to tell me...wait for it...photos are picked up in the front now: LIKE I ASKED IN THE BEGINNING!! But guess what? They weren't up there EITHER!! He had to walk me back yet AGAIN to photo (this is my third time going from place to place now by THEIR instruction). The photos weren't there either and weren't ready...STILL. I said, "listen I'm trying to stay calm." And he says, "Are you?" Sarcastically. Yeah, real managerial of you, Ken. He then claimed he already said to me earlier he would have a chat with Sandra (he 100% did not) when I said this was NOT handled well and he's acting like it's just another day--nothing to see here. Wish I had a video of this clown show. I had to insist that he check me out at photo instead of me having to check out with her so the situation would not escalate. I had to convince him of this. Really?? Any manager in their right mind would've offered that to a customer who's been jerked around since they walked in let alone after I've been barked at by a bitter woman with an attitude problem. This place is run by adult toddlers. I wish I would've driven the extra few minutes to go to CVS where everyone is always lovely. Im a tour guide here in town and won the award for best reviews all year at my (very well known) company. I say that because I know how to treat guests, so this particularly floored me. They don't have basic people skills let alone know how to treat people with respect. People are here in Sedona to have a good time, not to deal with your personal issues. Quit taking it out on the customers and admit when you're wrong. This place is disgusting both in terms of customer service and energetically. read more

This review is based on my need to have a prescription filled while I was visiting Sedona. I had visited an urgent care, and the PA prescribed a medicine with codeine - this was at 10 am. I got some text updates stating my prescription was in process and another saying there were insurance issues. Finally, at 3 pm, I called the pharmacy and after all the automated questions, got through to a real person in the pharmacy. Found out they did NOT have this medication in stock. The pharmacist suggested I call the clinic and ask them to send the script to another pharmacy, however I asked him to call the clinic which he did and left a message for the PA. I heard from the PA at 5:30 that a script was sent to the local CVS. My complaint - why didn't Walgreen's let me know they did not have the medication in stock as soon as they knew so the supplier change could have been accomplished earlier? read more

Some good sales and promotions in for the end of the year! I popped in after a hike, as I was craving something sweet to eat.. and something to drink besides water. They had several candy promotions on (which was nice). Not like I need any more sweets though There were three people in line at the register when I was going to pay, and another register was promptly opened. I appreciated that! Look I love this store and the employees are great. However, the amount of trash that is allowed to blow around the parking lot is a disgrace. I have reported this problem to the City of Sedona and their response seems to be its acceptable. Just take a look for yourself on your next visit and imagine every business allowing this amount of trash in front of the store and around the outside of the parking lot. Their trash has migrated into the landscaping surrounding the parking lot on the street side. I have seen the same trash in front of the store for a month now. What will it take? read more

World worst customer service I have ever encountered. I went in yesterday afternoon at about 2:30pm. My daughter was purchasing makeup. The cashier was so rude with a nasty attitude. Condescending to others attempting to buy alcohol. Pointing and hugging when asked a question instead of helping to direct other customers. My daughter apparently wasn't quick enough to put her PIN number in because she was again sighed at, rolled eyes and pointed at the card reader. Please put that girl in a different position away from customers or give her some service training. We left so put off that I don't think we'd come back. My biggest mistake is I didn't see her name. After 23 years of filling my prescriptions here, I have switched pharmacies and couldn't be happier. I now have a pharmacy that is open on weekends and after 5pm on weekdays. I'm done with rude treatment and the pharmacy NOT taking accountably for their mistakes. No surprise, almost everyone I know has also switched. I spend thousands every year on prescriptions and in-store purchases. Lucky for Walgreens, they will survive on the tourist population who doesn't know better. read more

The staff last night were unfriendly, impatient and unhelpful. The young woman who retrieved my prescription, whose flat expression did not change during the whole transaction, handed me the bag with a $306 copay ticket that l was not expecting. When l hesitated, she said, "So do you want it?" I was still in sticker shock when l paid for it then left the counter. When l came to, l thought of checking Good Rx and l found coupons at Basha's for $60+ for the same prescription. I went back to the counter and informed her of my discovery, which clearly annoyed her because she took my phone and scrolled through the website herself. I had wanted to return the item for a refund so l could get it at Basha's. But without telling me what she was doing on my phone, she went ahead and rang it up for the Walgreens price of $170+. When l realized what she was doing, l protested and said, "Wait! I just want a refund. I'll buy it at Basha's." Well, the even surlier supervisor who had been standing by observing the transaction looked at me and said in a sarcastic tone, "l don't understand why you looked through that (app)" implying that l was the one who chose to buy it from them with the Walgreens Good Rx coupon. The young woman who rang it up without asking me said nothing. All l could say was, "l just wanted the best price". Then l heard her exasperated grunt under her breath before she directed the tech to issue the refund. I left there feeling like l had just inconvenienced and offended these people by trying to save money on my prescription. The previous pharmacists who were there for about 30 years, and who were the friendliest and most helpful and caring individuals, went out of their way to help us get what we needed and at the best price. It's sad that Walgreens has deteriorated to this level of poor customer service. I've had several patients of mine ask me to transfer their prescriptions to other pharmacies, and not just because of their new very limited hours of operation (9-5, closed on weekends), but because of their stressful encounters with some of the staff. Extremely rude pharmacist!! I was on vacation in Sedona and needed two of my prescriptions filled. My home pharmacy processed the prescriptions so the Walgreens in Sedona couldn't fill them. I had to call the pharmacist two times to get everything straightened out and both times she was very abrupt with me and hung up on me the second time after she told me they would be ready in 30 minutes. I don't know if she was just very busy, but she didn't need to be so rude! read more

This is a huge Walgreens, with a prescription drive-through window on the side. We dropped in for some necessary supplies, and discovered that prices are about the same as they were in San Francisco. So much for that cost-of-living myth! There are about 30 rocks around town with well-known names, and hundreds that are relatively unknown. This is by far the worst pharmacy I've ever been to. They are all rude. I called 2 days in advance to have my prescription refilled. When I went in they hadn't included my insurance then were annoyed when I didn't want to pay the $103 dollars instead of the $10 with insurance. The cashier couldn't figure out how to enter my insurance and mid way through this process she says it's 5:00 and they are now closed and I will have to come back tomorrow. I was out of my meds and can't get in tomorrow and explained that can't go without my meds. She asked her boss who said, "they are a corporation and not allowed to go a minute past closing". She was beyond cold and could care less when I said I couldn't wait. Even though had they included my insurance in the first place I would have been long gone by this point. The reality is, even if they had to close, all they had to do was be nice and understanding of the situation because by the time they made their rude snarky remarks to me as well as everyone in line, they got my insurance in and I left. This is a really nice Walgreens. They carry in the front Sedona tops and in the back down the middle row they have magnets, postcards, books, calendars, coffee cups, and shot glasses all with Sedona and/or Arizona. Great place to get your gifts for family. Staff was super friendly. read more

OK I promise this is my very last Walgreens pharmacy rant. customer service at the Sedonah location is terrible the drive-through is always closed because not enough employees. I've had to wait sometimes three or four days for a prescription. Once again I made the mistake of having my eye doctor sent my prescription to Walgreens. Not only did I have to wait for it for two days but when I finally got there it wasn't ready. I insisted on waiting for them to fill it. When I went to pick it up the clerk said did your doctor tell you your prescription was going to be $200. Come on I have a stye. Oh well I guess I need it so I buy it. But something tells me not to take it, so I never open the bottle it still has the aluminum protection. I also have a topical antibiotic so I just go with it. Or week later I go to my doctor she's happy with my progress I said by the way the prescription you gave me was $200. She said no way. She looks up the prescription on her computer and she said it should have cost five dollars at Safeway and $13 at Walgreens. So the next day I go to Walgreens explain to the clerk what happened and she calls and the pharmacist. This woman is a total bitch to me. She says what kind of doctor is this I said an eye doctor. Well she says she obviously doesn't understand what she has prescribed. If we would've given it to you and capsules it would've been a lot cheaper but she specifically asked for tablets which are extremely expensive. well according to my doctor this is not what she prescribed. Pharmacist said are you calling me a liar. I don't think I've called you anything. But then she says well you snickered. This is so absurd obviously there's a mistake here. We're not taking back the medication. under the circumstances there's obviously a mistake and I never open the bottle maybe you can make an exception. No. I said OK I'm paying $200 for a prescription that may be a mistake and I shouldn't have taken it anyway .. I am so done with Walgreens this is the last straw she calls me back and says mess if I can prove to you that we have not made a mistake would you not Badmouth us. I say OK let's give it a shot. She says I'm going to call the doctor and get to the bottom of this and I will call you as soon as I have the results. It's been five days, no phone call. So let me say this for the last time I am so done with Walgreens. read more

For a chain drug store, this is as good as any. This Walgren's reminds me a bit of the old Thrifty Drug Store chain that dotted So Cal corners for so many years. The only thing missing is an ice cream counter and coffee shop! We use the pharmacy here almost exclusively. The pharmacist and staff are knowledgeable and helpful although I dislike it when they talk through the drive thru drawer instead of using the intercom. It's convenient, clean, well organized and pleasant. Good for lots of items like cosmetics, hair care supplies, medical and over the counter drugs and vitamins. Their generic products are often on sale and cost significantly less than name brands. They have a pretty good offering of seasonal items for Christmas, Halloween, Easter, etc. and good buys can be found when they go on clearance. Their liquor and wine department is average but has a better offering of different sizes bottles than the local grocery store liquor departments. Prices are slightly higher save for sale items. Nice people work here. Helpful and friendly. Recommended. read more
