Pharmacy & Photo Departments
The pharmacy is okay; it's not unusual for them to have an electronically-submitted prescription for over a day and still not fill it. Usually takes them about 5 - 10 minutes to fill one you arrive, though they always say 20. I suppose that's in an attempt to look good, but it's too late by that point. [This paragraph is unedited from the original review. I will wait to change this part until I see an improvement in the Pharmacy. This is also the reason for the missing star.]

Originally, I had given bad marks over an incident involving a rude/rough response from employee over whether or not this Walgreen's Photo Department could develop C41 process Black & White film. However, after contacting @Walgreens via Twitter, the Twitter rep. then forwarding the concern to the Store Manager, and the Store Manager contacting me personally, I am happy to say that a resolution was found and communication was opened.
What it comes down to is this:
C41 Black & White film doesn't always come out right on development equipment primarily intended for color film and photos. In the past, this particular Walgreen's Photo Department had had some film from different customers come out as though it had never been exposed, among other issues. Because of this, they're a bit hesitant to give it a shot, since it costs them to develop something they can't charge for. I fully understand their stance on that.
If you go to have C41 B&W film processed here and get an employee who insists they either can't or won't process it, make sure you talk with the Store Manager. The person in charge as of this writing is very pleasant to work and speak with, and can definitely get things done.
She will almost certainly tell you that there's a chance it may not develop correctly. I will tell you this: If you read this review, or an employee tells you there's a chance that it may not develop correctly, know and accept this fact: You have been warned. Your choice to proceed is your responsibility, and there's no reason to try to hold Walgreens liable or raise a stink.
All this being said, I did end up getting my C41 B&W film processed by this Walgreens, and the photos came out perfect. The color tone is slightly off of straight-up white, but that's to be expected in this situation. Also, the tone is even, so if you haven't recently viewed other B&W photos developed elsewhere, you may not even notice. If you want or need as close to white as possible, bring it to a specialty place.
Overall, I would recommend getting your film developed here, particularly if you're in a bind time-wise, since they do 1-hour photo on-site. read more
