This place is in the ghetto and it's pretty shabby. But I don't even mind that. It's the pharmacy. It's rage inducing. The managing pharmacist is hit or miss, but they hired a new male pharmacist who is incredibly rude. And when I came to pick up the meds for my parents, they shorted me a med. The male pharmacist tried to blame me for not checking on the number of meds. Oh it's my fault y'all don't know how to do your jobs. My bad, this fool thinks it's my job to dictate to him exactly what the screen says. I am sorry you can't read. How did you get your job?? I drive back over for the second time in the same day and another pharmacy tech told me she couldn't find my dad's records. I was shouting at her the information because she apparently couldn't hear me through the plexiglass. Suddenly, she was able to find it, but she went to the back of the pharmacy for whatever reason. Are your computers broken, or your employees? Never got an apology. Check your accounts to make sure they don't send you on a wild goose chase twice. They don't care about your time, and definitely will try and take shortcuts. read more

Had a missed call from them today. Have been trying to call back. The first time someone picked up the phone, didn't say anything, put me on hold. When the phone started to ring, it rang for about a minute or so, someone picked up and hung up the phone. Tried calling back and was on hold. I got tired of waiting so I hung up. Horrible experience with the photo department. I ordered for a photo book of my wedding pictures to me made. The app informed me it would be ready the next day. When I picked it up at the time it said it would be ready, they were in the process of still printing it out but their printing machine was having problems. I was told they would email me when it was ready, so I left. 3 days passed and I got no email, so I called them to inquire on the status. The person who answered said they have no record of my order. I was fine when my order was delayed due to technical issues, but for my order 3 days later to just vanish into thin air I felt was unacceptable. read more

I first want to give credit to the intern. Who is trying his best to help. He was still in training and simply not able to help. The existing staff were tired and clearly burned out. It was the end of the day during the after work rush. Normally, I wouldn't give burnt out staff a bad review but clear communication should be a basic practice of any business. I take my grandmother to the pharmacy when her meds are ready. One prescription is refrigerated and she doesn't trust a mail delivery. So we go in person when the pharmacy calls to say it's ready. She got the call stating both prescriptions would be ready by 6pm the following day. We went when the pharmacist said they would be ready. They were not ready. A different pharmacist said he could get it ready. He apologizd it wasn't ready as promised. Upsetting but understandable. He called us up an hour and half later when he had one ready. The second was not in the building. It needed to be ordered. That was irritating enough but it took an hour and a half wait for them to tell us that. We could have left and came back when they were both ready rather than making my grandmother wait. We came back two days later for the second prescription. We called first to ensure it was ready. Lesson: Call ahead and ask the pharmacist to put eyes on the finished prescription. Don't trust their computer. read more

Literally the worst pharmacy. Long waits and very incompetent staff. They can't put in a claim correctly- making it seem like you have to pay out of pocket for meds. Several seniors had to pay full price due to their incompetence. I've had several occasions where I had to have my insurance call this pharmacy to get them to input correct claim information and to put in prescriptions. Worst pharmacy of all time. Will waste your time and make you drive over just to wait for hours or get told to come back again another day. Was told medication would be ready Monday at 11am after waiting over a week. I show up on Monday after 11:30, on the way to catch a train at noon. They have no idea where my prescription is and proceed to look through several cases of pills telling me "the shipment just came in at 11am so it's probably in there". It was not.. The next excuse was that they have a lot of temporary workers that will "say anything to get you to come back in" which is a direct quote from the pharmacy tech. Ridiculous!!! Horrible experience with the photo department. Felicia is beyond rude. I gave her my last name and she was digging through the wrong bin of last names, I corrected her and said my name starts with __, and she snapped back at me saying no I'm wrong. I think I know how to spell my last name. The photo area is an absolute mess with boxes and bins everywhere. After 15 minutes of her looking for it then saying I ordered it at the wrong store- nope receipt in my emails says this store, walked out. I ordered again from the other one on Broadway. The management needs to do something about this store. Employees are rude and it's a mess inside and out. The system was paging for a department over head and no one was answering. There were boxes down the aisles just thrown around. I'll stick with the other Walgreens or CVS on Folsom Blvd for my photo needs. I can't imagine this location staying open much longer. read more

Very slow service. I was waiting in line while pharmacist was sitting down and the assistant was at the drive through window. While waiting more customers came and the pharmacist decided to get up. Then the assistant came to help me and was terrible. Kept repeating my name and recounting my prescriptions. Was very, very slow. Don't ever buy gift cards at this store! Yesterday I bought two eBay cards and when I got home and scratch them off the last four digits were apparently glued to the scratch off material and couldn't be read. so I took them back to the store and of course they can't help and insist you have to call eBay. I took another chance today and bought one more card to see if it was a fluke and I asked them if they would take it back if I scratched it off right there and they said no. I was kind of in a hurry so I bought it anyway and took the chance. What's the odds of it happening again? Well guess what the same problem occurred. Even being as generous as possible, this Walgreens doesn't cut the mustard. It's a "convenient" store in that it is open later and within a convenient distance of many a local neighborhood, but that's about it. For better prices, a better selection, friendlier staff, fewer loiterers, a well-maintained and clean shopping experience, shorter lines for the pharmacy and so on, I would suggest elsewhere. It's not all bad. I have stopped in here on a number of occasions and found those one or two items I couldn't find elsewhere. Deodorant, drinks (no alcohol on site that I noticed), chips, a new pair of headphones. And there was one clerk who was a super friendly and helpful lady, which always earns stars in my shopping experience. It's a place I go because ultimately they still are more convenient than other spots around the area. And since WInco has closed, they are now the most convenient convenience store on that corner! read more

If I could leave 0 Stars I would. This place is a disaster. I waited 20min which I have found is the new minimum wait time for this location. I asked who I could contact to make a complaint and the Pharmacist Vannie yelled at me. She never came to the window to speak to me. She yelled 1800 Walgreens over and over through the intercom. The lack of professionalism coming from a licensed pharmacist is eye opening to say the least. I don't feel safe getting medication from her or this location. They have actually called me asking what meds they gave me, not to mention the time they tried to give me someone else's prescriptions. I'm not sure if this is a pharmacy or a homeless encampment. Enter at your own risk... Make sure you have ample time, because this won't be a quick visit. read more

I avoid using this store at all costs. The experience is always frustrating. I waited on hold for 20 minutes to speak with a pharmacist, and that must be when the automated system times out because the call was disconnected. This has happened before, and if I didn't have to go through this pharmacy, I wouldn't. The only reason why I'm giving this store two stars is because I know that pharmacists are overworked and aren't receiving the pay they deserve. The decision to have one pharmacist working (I spoke with a manager to see how many people were back there when I called) is probably a cost-cutting measure by Walgreens. Arrived at 3PM for my COVID drive through test that was scheduled for 3PM. Understandably there were 2 cars in front of me, so there would be a wait. But I didn't get to take my test until about 40minutes later. Lady in front of me said she had called at 11AM to confirm that she was picking up her prescription today, but they didn't have it ready. Took them a while to figure it all out. I didn't get my results for close to a week after taking the test. Not Efficient. read more

This Walgreens pharmacy is unreliable and that is very dangerous. Thursday I called about a prescription that should have been ready on Tuesday, I was left on hold for 2 hours trying to speak with the pharmacist. Yesterday they were closed before 4 pm with this sign saying "Pharmacy closed due to Medical Emergency". I showed at 9 am this morning and was told the pharmacy changed their hours and would open at 10 am. Be careful if you have any important prescriptions filled here. Walgreens could be causing countless medical emergencies by not staffing this location properly! Completely unacceptable to do this when people's lives at at risk!!! read more

This experience was based on my first experience there today. I was able to go in and out in a timely manner. The location seems a little sketch, but it ain't bad. I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the lady holding it down at the register. She greeted despite being busy with many customers. The only thing I didn't like was that there were some customers who weren't wearing masks and the store didn't really enforce it. Other than that, everything was all good, they even have COVID testing kits there if anyone is looking. It looks like they're well stocked. read more

The pharmacy is completed unreliable. They received my prescription Friday. I received a message stating they were out of stock and are reordering. That's it. No calling to inform me so I can contact my doctor and have her order elsewhere. No information on how long it would take to receive supply. It's not the worst walgreens... Staff is just being staff, i'm sure if you encounter enough ghetto rude people here in Oak Park, at some point you're just not gonna care about most things. I always go here and i never have problems. I ask, they answer. I go in to buy what I need, wait less than 1 minute at checkout and i'm out. Drive thru pharmacy, takes about 1-3 minutes and you're good. What is annoying is that they really don't bother to keep homeless from loitering. I only come here if I really need something, and I don't have time to go elsewhere. The staff are usually not friendly (although there have been a few times I was there when someone was actually really nice), the selection is not great and some items are hard to find, the customers are sketchy, and there's always someone outside asking for money. I've been to other local Walgreens that are larger, cleaner, and with better selection. But this'll do in a pinch. read more

This is in review of their passport photo station. I called the Walgreens on Broadway, and the lady quoted me 14.99 with tax for the photos. On September 22, Saturday at 3:20 PM. I went into the Walgreens on Stockton since it was a bit closer to my next stop, and the lady at the photo station told me it was 16.23! I informed her that The other Walgreens on Broadway was selling the photos for cheaper. He was not going to price match door was rude nor was she willing to offer any type of compromise for the price. I was astounded by the fact that Walgreens store pricing is inconsistent I'm on individual stores! It makes me wonder about the management. She said that it was due to "location differences". However I informed her that the other Walgreens was in Midtown and less than a mile away. However she was unwilling to compromise on the price. I will never Utilize Walgreens photo services ever again. Update: 10/1/18 Apparently the photo was rejected by the US Passport office and I have to go back to get another! I would give no starts if I could. This is mainly for the pharmacy inside the Stockton Blvd. store. This is absolutely the worst pharmacy I have ever been in! The majority of the staff is rude. The prescriptions are NEVER ready on time. The pharmacist reviews each prescription before you can pick it up(one that is already done and bagged). If the pharmacist is on break you cannot pick up a prescription that is ready to go no matter what class of drug it is. I have been told I had to wait 15 minutes for the pharmacist to return from break and then waited 20 minutes and was never informed that the pharmacist was back then I was made to get in line again. Today there was 1 pharmacy tech to take care of the inside pick ups AND the drive thru! And 1 pharmacist filling prescriptions. My insurance mandates that I go to Walgreens but I am going to switch to a different location even if I have to drive a longer distance to get there. Stay away from this store! The outside is always filthy with garbage and panhandlers. And occasionally the entire store is closed because they have no staff. They need to look at their manager as I would think that that's where the problem begins! read more

This review is for the pharmacy. I've used this pharmacy since December, and it's awful. The front cashier is always rude, or has no idea what's going on. If I've called the prescription ahead of time, it's never ready when I get there, and get poor customer service from her. On multiple occasions I've seen the pharmacist step in to help or calm the multiple angry customers. I'm changing my pharmacy ASAP because of the rude customer service and the fact that it took over a week to fill an easy prescription. Pretty standard Walgreens; holiday aisles beauty products, baby stuff, junk foods, small refrigerator section if you are in a pinch, and a ton of medicines and other health products. No alcohol here but hey, that's what Rite Aide is for. They do have a lot of cigarettes and E-Cigs too. If you need that sort of thing. Staff is pretty surly sometimes but they keep the store organized and cleaned. The ladies at the make up counter have always been very nice and helpful. Behind the make up counter there are dozens of perfumes, my favorite is the Shakira one. All in all, if you are used to this area and need some sort of drug store product, this place is as fine as any. read more

I'm a coupon clipper so when I saw that you get free stuff at Walgreens after a mail in rebate, I took the bait. The freebies on my shopping list were a lipstick, a small bottle of Aleve, and a small bottle of Excedrin. The only thing I found in the store was the lipstick. I wasted 5 minutes looking for the painkillers before asking the pharmacist for assistance but she just said, "aleve is on that shelf and excedrin is on that shelf". They should make customer service courses a requisite for all pharmacy degrees. All the shoppers here seemeed depressed and many of the people in the pharmacy line seemed really, really irate because of problems with prescriptions. I wish I'd found the Excedrin, I have a headache now. read more

I never remember to refill my prescriptions until the last minute. That's my fault, I know. But this Walgreens always, ALWAYS takes the longest time possible to fill my Rx once I've called. If I need a refill and they have to confirm with my doctor, I know I won't get my prescription for at least two or three days. I'll call for days in a row and they'll have lost fax after fax from my doctor's office (who stays on the phone with me until they get confirmation that the fax is received). Sometimes they don't have my medications in stock and that also takes days. And often when they do, and there is no reason they need to talk to a doctor, it still takes them an entire day to get it filled. I would forgive a lot of this if they ever seemed busy when I went in to pick stuff up, but that never seems to be the case. Often they're just hanging out with their big attitudes, loosing my faxes and working on bringing down the quality of my local Walgreens. read more

How many different ways can you rate a Walgreens? Inventory is usually all the same, which is great. Convenience stores are always expensive but that's what "convenience" means. I go to this particular location on my lunch breaks when I need something that I don't want to have to buy after work, ex. body lotion, deodorant, etc. I've also utilized it's convenience the day my phone charger shorted out. How cool to be a walk away from a place to grab a new one? Anyways, a recent visit here I found quite humerous. You know how you'll go to a Rite Aid or CVS and the hard alcohol will be locked up? Well, in Oak Park apparently toilettries are just as valuable. I kid you not when I say I could not easily grab body wash for myself because it was locked up behind bars. The same for the face wash, such as L'Oreal and Olay, and laundry soap. What a shame! The third star is because I get pretty darn good customer service. read more
