    Easter on clearance
    Gina L.

Has its own parking lot. Mostly clean interior, except the floor needs sweeping. Some shelves were empty or messy. Very few customers around in the afternoon on the weekend. The staff don't wear masks. There was some kind of incident right before I came in, as there was an employee standing by the entrance and a manager(?) telling him not to allow a customer to shop if said customer came back. Leftover Easter products are on clearance and 50% off. Unfortunately, there wasn't much unless you're looking to gorge on chocolate rabbits and peeps. One thing I noticed is that the plush toys were dirty. Nothing you can't brush off with a little effort, but it was odd.

Expired Dr. Pepper Zero dating back to September 2024.

The CVS absolutely sucks! First of all, their inventory is very slim. I tried looking for vitamins that I need, and they're constantly and consistently out of stock on many items. Even when I am able to find items, they are no good. For instance, I bought a six pack of Dr Pepper Zero, only to find out that it expired in June of last year after I brought it home. I took it back to the store to get an exchange, and the only Dr Pepper Zero they had left was a six pack that only had four bottles. The clerk let me have it for free, but when I brought it home, I found out that it expired in September. I posted a picture of it, you could barely see the date. The clerk told me that the manager got yelled at for this on numerous occasions. It seems to me if this is happening on numerous occasions, they need to get a new manager!

I was told over the phone that it was acceptable to do so. I have been a customer of Pucci Pharmacy for over a year and have had my compounded hormone creams filled there through my healthcare provider. Although I live in the Natomas area and the pharmacy is not close to my home, I have continued using Pucci Pharmacy because I had never experienced any problems before this incident. On May 8, I went to the pharmacy with a bag containing old prescription medications for disposal. After waiting in line, I placed the bag on the counter and explained that I was there to dispose of the medications. The employee assisting me responded that she did not think they could accept them. A younger employee went to the back to ask someone for clarification. During this interaction, I became increasingly uncomfortable. I was already feeling ill because my stomach was upset and I urgently needed to use the restroom. In addition, the employee's tone made me feel embarrassed and uncomfortable. As someone on the autism spectrum, situations involving confusion, confrontation, or inconsistent communication can be especially overwhelming. The employee then asked whether I knew when my garbage service collected my trash and suggested that I remove the prescription labels and dispose of the medications myself. At that point, I said, "I'm sorry, I need to leave." As I walked away, I heard someone yell, "You can't leave this here." A male staff member then called me. He seemed frustrated from the beginning of the conversation. I explained that I had only brought the medications because I had been told over the phone that it was acceptable and that the pharmacy needed better communication between staff so customers would receive consistent information. Rather than trying to understand my concerns, the conversation became argumentative. I told him I was becoming frustrated because I felt I was being treated as though I had done something wrong, despite following the instructions I had been given. I asked what we could do to resolve the situation. He responded, "I'm not going to take this," and then hung up on me. Afterward, I called back and spoke with a manager. She was kind, understanding, and professional. I explained that the entire experience had been triggering for me because I am on the autism spectrum and that I believed the pharmacy needed better communication and greater sensitivity when interacting with customers, especially those with disabilities. The manager apologized, and I believed the matter had been resolved. However, on June 30, when I called Pucci Pharmacy regarding my prescriptions, I was placed on hold for an extended period before speaking with someone who identified himself as the owner. He informed me that, because of my previous visit, the pharmacy had decided they would no longer fill my prescriptions. I asked why this decision had been made, especially since I believed my conversation with the manager had ended on good terms and I had been a loyal customer for over a year. The owner stated that he had watched the security video and claimed that the staff had tried to help me, but that I simply walked out and left my "trash." I explained that I did not leave trash. I had brought old prescription medications because I had been told by the pharmacy that I could do so. Yes, I left the pharmacy because I felt overwhelmed, but I also stated that I was leaving. I did not intend to abandon anything improperly, nor was I trying to create a problem. Unfortunately, the conversation with the owner also became argumentative. I told him that I intended to file a complaint because I believed I was being treated unfairly as a person with a disability. He responded that the decision had nothing to do with my disability. I am deeply disappointed by how this situation was handled. What began as a misunderstanding caused by inconsistent information from the pharmacy ultimately resulted in me being refused service after more than a year as a customer. I believe the situation could have been resolved through respectful communication rather than confrontation. I also believe businesses serving the public should ensure their staff receive training on effective communication and appropriate interactions with individuals who have disabilities, including those on the autism spectrum.

HA! Reasons why I love CVS and this one in particular, is the fact that parking is never a struggle and the employees are friendly and helpful. Most of the time, things are in stock and I don't have trouble finding what I want, need, or want to think about buying. SIGN UP FOR THE EXTRABUCKS! The coupons, ExtraBucks, and 2% cashback makes it so fun. There was once a time where I couponed SO HARD that the balance went to $0.00! I love to challenge myself to see how much LESS I can pay, for an item or two, compared to big retailers. I shop for makeup here. I've been coming to this CVS for so long that I remember when they didn't have ELF and now ELF makeup is back! The brand I am most loyal to here is Wet N Wild. I love the self-checkout feature. If there's ever an error or I need help, the employees are timely and communicative. One time, I had this coupon that was not working and the manager went above and beyond to ensure that the coupon worked for me! I will never talk bad about this place, ever. The pharmacy can get busy at times but I've never had a hard time with the staff. CVS is a retail store so there's always stuff to be put out on display; the workers do their best and I appreciate their efforts and work. When Christmas is over, their sales are worth checking out so you can load up on gift bags, gift card holders, and wrapping paper at half the price or cheaper. All in all, this CVS is my favorite. I walk in with a coupon and leave knowing I got a good deal on my purchase.

To question a costumer, in the earshot of other costumers, about prescriptions and medical conditions is potentially setting that customer up, putting them in harms way for an assault and theft outside as they leave! This is blatant HIPPA VIOLATION!!! They do not have any consistency with how they handle IDs, either. For over 3 years I've been using my digital iPhone VALID drivers license and today, they want the physical license...even though the "Silvina" (sp) East Indian long haired female pharmacist (who consistently works a register as a cashier) "allowed" me to use it 2 pick ups ago, today she says it was a "courtesy " for the last pick up. She denied it then and when I requested the pharmacist, she proudly stated, "I AM the pharmacist"...then I said, "well, then, you should know this is an acceptable form of ID"...and another pharmacist came over and said to accept it. I thought she learned, but, she flat out LIED today to say "as a courtesy"...and they denied me my medication. NOBODY INFORMED ME IT WAS A COURTESY AND TO BEING MY ACTUAL DL "next time"! I don't carry a purse. EVERYTHING is in my phone. I LYFT to the pharmacy so when they pull this crap (question my medication, question dosages, ask what medical conditions I have to warrant certain prescriptions, etc)...I have to pay for the transportation TWICE. I've lived in the neighborhood for 33 years and am a homeowner and they are unfortunately the only pharmacy left in the area (Bel Air was amazing but they closed)...and since then I've used CVS... and it's AWFUL...long lines, super poor consumer service they know they can get away with. Violating basic human rights. This place needs to be shut down! Uneducated, poorly and inconsistently trained pharmacists AND staff...nothing like how it used to be. I worked side by side with a pharmacist/best friend for 13 years in the same office and NEVER did he question a doctor's prescription. Ever. They are getting so egotistical and just STUPID and are doctor wannabes who think THEY PRESCRIBE...WRONG!! Their job is to DISPENSE. If they've an issue with it, contact the doctor so they can tell you to do your job instead of me having to!! I'm looking elsewhere. CVS loses another solid customer and CVS Corporate Headquarters is stupid because the pharmacists do not care how many customers CVS has (or loses) as long as they get paid. Here's today's CLOWN OF THE DAY who, by the way, would not give me her name to report to Corporate Headquarters. Corporate Headquarters does not provide either. She comes to register with mask on and glass partition to speak to a hearing impaired customer?! Ridiculous!! I told her I was impaired and she did NOTHING to accommodate my disability (ADA VIOLATION). Hides her huge ego and idiotic behavior behind the mask). Typical CVS pharmacist/tech! Ask yourself why! The quality of Pharmacists they are signing on is AWFUL. They are transient poorly educated (usually out of country), poorly trained excuses of pharmacists who JUDGE all who come to them...even when *some* have been reprimanded professionally for controlled substance abuse. Yep! It's public record. Not a problem because I know how to retrieve full names from CA State Board of Pharmacy. Not my first rodeo!! Stupidity all around. Just shameful.

This type of "medication shaming" in regards to frequency can negatively affect someone who is struggling with medical conditions and would rather not be taking medications to begin with. Appalling behavior by Teresa Zhang (Pharmacy Manager) CVS should be ashamed to have this pharmacy…read morewith CVS branding; also, the pharmacy technicians are even worse! My singular visit today, Friday, 02/06/26, is not the first time my experience has been disturbing. I've been using them for the past 3-4 months, one visit per month, and EverySingleTime (!!!) it's a mess with unbelievable disrespect and rudeness. I drove up to window and the pharm tech said there was nothing in the system for me but when I told her the name of the medication, suddenly it was in the system. She said she cannot dispense it and I'm welcome to go into the store and speak with the pharmacy manager (Teresa Zhang), I said "that's a great idea!" I go in, approach the window, and Teresa Zhang is there working on something. I ask "are you the pharmacy manager?" and she gives me a look of disgust, answering "yes" (I knew she is from previous interactions). She tells me she will not dispense the medication because it's too early, to return Sunday, 02/08/2026, I tell her my physician ordered this medication for pick up today and that I'm only following my physician's instructions. She then starts talking about some sort of arbitrary policy, that's not posted anywhere nor available to find online. She also said that I've been picking up my Rx early over the past few months and because of that, I have to wait. Because of my previous experiences with Teresa, I was already angry, and we started yelling over each other - creating a scene with pharmacy staff and all the clients waiting watching. When I started (first time) with this medication I should have been notified about her beliefs being imposed on patients, at least I would have known and been prepared. Knowing would have also given me the chance to do business with another pharmacy. On one occasion, Teresa Zhang refused to dispense my prepared prescription (she waved it in front of me through the drive through window), saying I need to return the old, unused medication before she will dispense the prescription she was waving in front of me. Granted the Rx is a controlled substance, but my physician determined the old medication doesn't work and I needed a new (similar) medication. There is no indication, anywhere, that clients/patients must return old, unused medication to retrieve their new one. Because of my need, I went home, picked up the old medication, returned, and when I dropped the medication she said "thank you" but in a really snarky way and after the transaction was complete, another snarky toned "have a good day." Although I do not have any Rx scripts here, the location is convenient at the corner of Riverside and Florin, and sometimes it's a quick stop to pick up an essential or an item that I forgot to get at another store and don't want to backtrack. However, there have been reports of several incidents here, so safety can be a concern. I do not come here alone after dark, and try not to come here at night at all with or without someone accompanying. The store seems quite short-staffed, sadly. I ordered some photos to be printed here and on the evening when hubby and I came to pick them up on the way home from the gym, there were only 2 staff in the whole store, and both of them were cashiering. We had to wait till one of them cleared their line of customers checking out before she was available to help us get our several photo orders. As far as shopping here, there are usually well-stocked shelves, but sometimes they seem to stock their items in non-intuitive places and it takes me awhile to find what I'm looking for and staff is scarce so I don't try to find a staff person to help me find the item(s). The prices here, as w/other pharmacies like CVS (pretty much the only other chain pharmacy left), are pretty high, so definitely have to watch for sales if you're flexible about an item's brand or variety. Otherwise, it would be much less expensive for a food or essential item if bought at the Grocery Outlet just across the street. Occasionally, Walgreen's would offer promotions on their photo printing such as a free 8x10 or a few free 4x6, and it's quite easy to use either their app or their website to upload pictures to be printed at the store and although the quality isn't the best, it's pretty ok from my experience of what I need them for. Overall, this Walgreens is a helpful place, but isn't in the safest part of the greater Greenhaven area, and so it is best to only come in daylight.
