It was 1 pm so i asked what time that would be She said 2 pm. This pharmacy is the absolute worst. Been coming here for years and initially I sympathized with the massive decline in service during the pandemic. They are chronically understaffed and did a walkout at one point last year which I support (except that all of our prescriptions were held hostage for several days). Earlier this year it seemed like things had gotten a little better, but that feeling is gone. Hours of service are unreliable - sometimes they are just closed during business hours without explanation (and not just for their lunch break). Wait times can be ridiculous - I have stood in line here for anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours, in some kind of pharmaceutical purgatory. And that's before you get to the window and they tell you that they don't actually have your prescription ready (despite the fact that their automated text/phone system/app said they did). They have repeatedly lost/claimed they did not receive prescriptions sent in by my providers, causing headaches for my providers and causing me to have to wait that much longer for needed meds. I've called to check the status of a prescription, waited on hold for 20 minutes and then been hung up on by their phone system. I went in this week with a new prescription, waited in line for the customary 15-20 minutes, and then watched while two techs and the pharmacist wandered around looking for the medication for another 5 minutes, only to determine it wasn't in stock. The tech said they could order it but that they had no idea if or when it would arrive. Finally they consulted their computer and said it was in stock at the West Burnside location, so I drove across town. Guess what? West Burnside didn't have it either. The moral of this story is that Walgreens truly sucks and I can't take it anymore. Stupid me for letting it go this long. read more

This Walgreens took my prescription for painkillers after i had a medical procedure. when they asked, i told them id like them asap and expressed that it was time sensitive that i receive them. they then proceeded to delay and delay and fill the script late, so I had to wait longer for it, in pain. Then when I was finally alerted on my phone that the prescription I had been waiting for was ready, I went to the location to pick it up only to see the pharmacy shut down without warning with a sign reading "we will be closed for the next few days." confused and still in pain, I asked The Walgreens employee how I can get my prescription and she told me to call to transfer my prescription to another location. Great. an inconvenience, but great. I called another location. When I spoke to another Walgreens pharmacy to transfer my script, they proceeded to tell me that because it's a controlled substance that they could not fill that script and that it was essentially trapped in the other location for 4 more days. and that they were unable to do anything abt it, forcing me to needlessly wait in unnecessary pain unable to retrieve a vital medication perscribed to me, through no fault of my own. damn this location to hell for not even so much as giving notice posting a sign or giving any warning to customers that prescriptions would be trapped for days in a closed pharmacy. do no harm? what a joke..... these people should be ashamed !!!!! read more

I had a prescription which was supposed to be ready yesterday. I came to get it this morning (Friday) and they said it won't be ready until Monday because they have to order it. After receiving a call from the pharmacy saying they now all of the sudden have it but that I needed to have my doctor fix something on their end. I called back to say that the issue they were having was only on their end, not my doctors and to ask if I could come pick up my medication. I was on hold for 45 minutes, then explained to the lady who answered why I was calling. She then put me back on hold for 5 minutes and answered saying hi how can I help you. I said that she just put me on hold and I had just spoken to her about what I needed and then she put me back on hold. Then the call dropped because of "technical difficulties " according to the machine. After being on hold forever calling them back, the pharmacist was extremely rude, talking over me and just overall having a big attitude. Don't recommend. read more

On September 10, I Walked 3 blocks to pick up a prescription at Walgreens as I've done for many years. When I got up o the pharmacy window, I was informed by the pharmacy tech that they were only filling them through the drive through window. I informed her that I walked to the store. She told me to get in line with the cars. I wasn't about to stand between idling vehicles subjecting myself to risks of a vehicle rolling forward. I doubt that Walgreens would accept liability for a crushing injury. Very poor judgement on their part. Rotten customer service! read more

Visiting from out of town and needed to pick up an Rx and this was the closest Walgreens. They actually answered the phone when I called and confirmed my prescription was received and would be ready in 10 mins. When I arrived they were busy but still tried to help me process a COVID test prescription. Really appreciated that they seemed to care about me as a patient and customer. read more

This store is a dump. They don't have any shopping baskets or carts so customers have to walk around balancing their purchases in their hands. The shelves are only 50% stocked and often in complete chaos. I am fully vaccinated but still wear my mask in this store because it feels very dirty and looks like no one has cleaned in there in a very long time. C'mon Walgreens! They would not fill the testosterone automatically, and when it was filled after much difficulty calling in, they would not notify about it being ready. Every other prescription was filled the right way, and when they were contacted they were completely uncaring and thoughtless. I come here a lot because it's conveniently located to my house and I have my pharmacy prescriptions sent here. I don't know why I don't re-route my pharmacy prescriptions because this Walgreens is the worst. How can I walk in at ANY time of day and be guaranteed at least a 10 minute wait in line? I don't like to give bad reviews, but this is THE WORST pharmacy I have ever been to. The staff is rude and they take forever to fill prescriptions. Mine was called in over 27 hours ago now and still isn't ready. I have been on hold waiting to speak with a pharmacy rep for 45 minutes now and the recorded message has just told me that they have closed for yet another meal break (I already waited out their posted lunch break less than an hour and a half ago). This is all bad enough, but this is also the ONLY pharmacy that has ever shorted me on my prescription. It was 8 pills (they gave me 6), it really shouldn't have been that hard. read more

It's not always horrible, it's not always great. It's a chain pharmacy with prices that fall on the spendy side but 3 times out of 5 you can get in and out without 26 people ahead of you. So you pay a bit more for that occasional convenience. They've introduced a litany of store brand food items and some cheap ass beer. I haven't tried the beer, but for $3 per 6-pack how bad could it be (hint: bad)? Will they treat you like a child when you pick up the same RX you've gotten 41 times before? Yes. I have sat on hold for up to an hour while the voice prompt keeps saying there is one call ahead of me. I chose this Walgreens because the Drive-thru is convenient and because they are open until 9. Yesterday, after my dental surgery was over, I sat in a 30-min line. Once I finally got to the window, I waited several minutes and had to push the call button to finally get someone to had them my prescriptions for pain and antibiotics. It was 6:10. A very perturbed employee asked me if this could wait until tomorrow because they were closing in 45 minutes. I assumed the prescriptions would have answered that, or at least the bloody drool on the side of my mouth. "No, it can't. I need both the AB's and the pain meds." "Well, you need to go to another branch. We close at 7." "Can you call over Lombard to transfer to them so I don't have to wait? My mouth hurts to talk and I'm in pain." "No. You have to go in person. They are open until 9:00". (Relaying my questions to the pony-tailed blonde next to her. All that was missing was an eye roll). "You can't find those in 45 minutes?" "No. You need to go to Lombard in person. They are open until 9:00. I went to Lombard. They also close at 7, and even though it was now 6:40, the tech looked at the prescriptions and grabbed two bottles off the shelf while directing the other tech to grab the third from another shelf, closer to him. I paid and was out of that store in 10 minutes. They need to fire those two snotty bitches at MLK. There are plenty of pharmacy techs who graduated last spring who would be grateful for a job. read more

If I could rate this Walgreen's ZERO stars, I would definitely do that. It has gotten worse and worse over the last year or two, with being short staffed being one obvious problem. The head pharmacist, a gal with short blonde and a small streak of purple spiky hair, is extremely rude as are a couple of the gals working the counter. (The drive through is non-functioning right now.) I dropped off 4 prescriptions for my husband who i had just brought home from major surgery, they told me it would be an hour and they would be ready. I went ahead and waited 5 1/2 hours and drove back to pick them up, and they were still not ready -- it would be 20 minutes so i needed to go and come back again. Now it was getting late for my husband's post-op pain medicine!!! I asked if they would notify me when it was ready ...("yes") but ... they did not, so I called the recorded info phone line, and YES they were ready... good thing i called instead of waiting for the promised text notice!! I asked the head pharmacist about what was happening at this branch with all the problems they were having, and the seriousness of not getting crucial meds on time, and she wouldn't look me in the eye; she just snipped and said, "yeah, we're backed up.." and "we're hiring, and it takes someone with a pharmacist degree, which is hard to come by." She ended up looking me in the eye, but not with one ounce of contrition or compassion for my husband's situation. Just a very mean-spirited look. NO NO NO -- unacceptable. read more

I have been calling the pharmacy for 6 days trying to get ahold of SOMEONE to transfer my prescription they were out of. On hold for literally 1.5-2.5 hours each day I call. Always says there is 3 callers ahead of me. I work full time and cannot make it to the pharmacy in person. This is absolutely unacceptable for people who need medications. I will be asking my dr to change pharmacies. I have never had this issue getting a ahold of someone about a prescription. read more

Usually, I go to a different Walgreens than this one, but I was in the neighborhood, so I decided to stop by since I'm running out of my contacts solutions. The store was clean, breezy, staff was helpful, but there's no other customer in the store. They didn't have the upright freezer cooler where other Walgreens sell cold bottle waters. They don't have 1 liter Dasani in the bottle. I guess I'm just use to the other store on SE 39th where almost all the cashiers recognize me. Usually they hide behind their counters/cash registers. They are terrified of the crazy coupon lady (point myself) :D. I don't like to pay full price. I'm frugal not cheap, remember that! read more

They have no idea what the heck they're doing behind that darn counter. They've given me 2 prescriptions that were not mine. My husband went through the drive up . I wasnt able to go and they gave him 3 scripts 2 of which belonged to other people. Thankfully I know what I take. They finally called 3 days later to inform me not to take the other ppls meds! Wow thanks guys I could be dead by now! They've shorted me the last 3 months on my much needed pain medication. Someone back there is not deserving of a license if they cant simply count pills. Walking into this store last night I see a sign saying they close at 10pm. I wonder what time it is and dig out my iPhone, because I left my watch somewhere. While I'm waiting for my old, much abused handheld device to wake the F up I hear: "We close in ONE MINUTE!" Wow. Screw you, too, lady. Not, "Sorry, we're closing." not even, "Hey, we're about to close." but "ONE MINUTE!" Is that helpful information? Can I go all Flash and zip to what I want at supersonic ground speeds, then get to the checkout and complete my transaction in ONE MINUTE! I recently moved to the neighborhood and switched my prescription to this Walgreens just before leaving town for a week. I got back, was out of pills and went in to pick up. They didn't have it ready because my dr. didn't reply to their fax (they had the wrong fax#). They never called me or the dr. even though they had both #s. To make matters worse, I waited in lone for 20 minutes to be informed of their lack of pills for me. They didn't even offer an emergency supply. I went to Rite-Aid who managed to get it right and offer me emergency pills when I dropped off. Well done Rite-Aid. Sorry Walgreens. I'll be making the longer drive. read more

This review is purely for the pharmacy. The other staff at this location have always been pleasant, but the pharmacy experience is worse than going to the post office and the DMV combined. I have never worked so hard to be a customer and to get my prescriptions. I changed to a 90 day supply so I didn't have to go in too frequently, but that was still too painful. It's unfortunate that Walgreens has such amazing technology with their cutting edge pharmacy app, but then the employees completely ruin what could be a good experience. I'm not sure why they make it harder on themselves than they need to or if it's requirement to be an asshole to work there, but I suggest finding a new pharmacy or just ordering online like I will be doing from here on out. read more
