For the year, just like before, I would receive notifications on when my meds were ready. And as usual, I would head over here via drive-thru to pick them up. Sometimes, the line would be 3 cars deep. But that's no big deal to me. Just picking up prescriptions was the priority. Staff always seemed busy either talking to customers at the counter or addressing them at pickup. The usual norm. Walgreens has always delivered for me and will continue to for the foreseeable future. Till next time :)

I was there last night to pick up two prescriptions and I was told that one of them was out of stock. When another pharmacist spoke up and said, let me check that because I don't think that's possible. This pharmacist was correct. I was in serious pain and they were getting ready to send me to another pharmacy somewhere in Newport News to get the medication that they actually did have in stock. As I sat there and waited for it to be filled, which took 30 minutes and I was told it would be less than 15 all I could notice was how filthy the chairs the table the floor everything was. The first woman I spoke with was very rude, and dismissive of my concerns. I don't live in Newport News. I'm only here a few days a week and with a Fourth of July weekend coming up the pharmacy I would've had to go to in my town would have been closed. So the pharmacist who spoke up actually saved me a lot of problems. I do appreciate that, but this store is ridiculous. I'm a CVS plus member and we can get deliveries and every time I order something online, I end up getting half of what I ordered because it says it's in stock online, but when I actually get my order half of the items were out of stock. I use coupons and points to purchase a lot of things so when my order is not complete, I lose the value of those coupons and points. It's maddening.

I often find better deals here now in their weekly circulars than at Food Lion, and the produce is ALWAYS much better than Food Lion. I like that they have many, many niche items -- stuff not many people probably want, but I appreciate. And really, the customer service can't be beat - the staff is always friendly and helpful. I accidentally left one of my bags recently, and by the time I got home and realized it, I figured it was a lost cause. Called over to the store, and the service desk had it for me! Overall still a great shopping experience.

Went back two weeks later for a different prescription and after waiting in the car line for 30+ minutes was told they DONT have insurance on file for him and I had to come inside. Came inside and waited for 10 minutes, put the insurance on file and asked for the prescription. They then told me that they would have to re-process the medication and I couldn't have it for another 30 minutes even though it was ready. 4 - later that week, my husband came inside to fill a prescription for our cat. He got in line at 1:20 with one person ahead of him. The employee made eye contact with him and smiled at him. The person in front of him took 10 minutes and when he got to the front of the line, it was 1:30. He said he needed to fill a prescription quickly and she said "ok, come back at 2 because we're closed for lunch." He said okay, but I've been in line since 1:20. She said "we've been closing for lunch at 1:30 since 2014." Neither of us have an issue with them closing for lunch - everyone deserves breaks. But it would've taken her 2 seconds to look at him when he got in line at 1:20 and say "sorry sir, after this customer we are closing for lunch! It's best to come back after 2!" But instead she let him waste 10 minutes of his time and then proceeded to give him a bratty attitude. We used to be rite aid customers and NEVER experienced issues like we've had with this CVS. Avoid this hellscape if you can. Truly dread when we have to come here

As stated before, this was a go-to for shopping pre-pandemic. Let's see how things went as a whole. Like before, all of the stops were because of lack of items. Basically, I would come on the way home from work and get things here and there, whether it's grocery items in-stock or greeting cards for family members out of state. The checkout process was mostly self-checkout where lines weren't that long. But just like the previous reviews mentioned, the amount of open aisles compared to self-checkout is like apples to oranges. Wait times aren't too long but it can get a little inconvenient if you have more than 5 items to scan. Also, some card readers can't scan cards if you use the chip function. Technology....gotta love it. Other than mishaps, this Walmart has come through at times for yours truly. We all know things aren't perfect. They will continue to remain an option :)

After going in circles in the same conversation with him on the phone & in person he got a major attitude with me because I started speaking louder because I was irritated at that point. He started yelling at me that I better not talk to him that way & I responded to him that I was simply speaking louder so others could hear the conversation since it was going in circles & he didn't seem to be hearing or understanding me very well. His coworkers were even standing there laughing at him. This man does not understand that customers can purchase items on the app & check out AS A GUEST. He refused to help me because he couldn't find a purchase under my name after I told him 3 times I checked out as a guest & there was NO NAME. I had the receipt IN HAND & he refused it. He got angry & stormed off on me so the girl up front had to go get another manager for me. Thankfully there were two managers on shift or I would have had to have called the police to get any assistance. The 2nd manager found the order via the order number on the receipt and was able to do the exchange in under 2 minutes without any issues. This store needs to fire the manager named Emmit. He is totally incapable of doing this job & has no idea what customer service means.

However, I highly recommend people check expiration dates and sniff the packaged produce before purchase. I bought woodear mushrooms that had already spoiled (smelled extremely sour even after washing) after I refrigerated it post-shopping and opened it up hours later to cook for dinner. There have been other instances where the goods we bought were very expired or are past their best by dates (for instance last month I bought spring roll wrappers that was best by Dec 2024. It's 2026!). I have noticed that the relevant items in Korean cuisine are the freshest selection maintained. If you're planning to make Korean foods this is a great spot to shop as they have aisles dedicated to Korean products. Aside from potentially buying expired items they do offer a wide selection of ingredients, food items and even household cleaning products kitchenware and other miscellaneous house items. They also have hot food to-go and the options to choose from is plenty.
