But this is a family owned store that I opted to patronize every time I visited my relatives in Semmes, AL. I'm just a sucker for mom and pop stores/businesses of any kind. Even if I have to pay a few cents more, I always try and patronize the local businesses; even if it was just to pick up a cold "coke". For the past few years, the store has gradually carried less and less merchandise. On my last visit, all that was available was the local newspaper and a few cold sodas. My family advised me that the original owners are elderly and sick and that the children are not too interested in keeping the store afloat.
