Asian owned beauty supply store that follows black people around the store…read more Sadly it's still happening. Came to this store as an alternative to my regular beauty supply store, as I remembered I needed gel. I walked into the store and was greeted by an older Asian woman as I proceeded down the isles looking for gel. I noticed for every aisle I went down, there was an Asian man following me at the end of every aisle cap. I looked down and saw the gel just as he walked towards me asking could he help me. I said no, and he put his hands up and repeated himself. I said no again. I proceeded to the front of the store where they both were standing and watching me. I turned, said " Have a nice day" and went to the other beauty supply store about a mile away. I'll never come here again.

I wanted teal hair, so I consulted with a nice…read moreblue-haired woman, and she helped me pick a 40 Volume Creme Developer (from Salon Care) and a tube of hair lightener to lift the color out of my stubborn Asian hair. It was my second time bleaching, so I left it on for about an hour and achieved a nice bronze color. I washed all that out, and then put in used Purple Plum and Twisted Teal (from 'N Rage Color) and left it in for about half an hour. Washing out the dye in my shower looked like an epic smurf homicide scene. Consider wearing gloves. I also bought a deep conditioner (one with argan oil, or similar), per previous Sally's visit/consultation. My hair dream have come true! And my Sally's visit was not even 10 minutes. Excellent!!

I initially declined but soon changed my mind. When I asked about a particular item she didn't just tell me where it was but walked me over to the item and showed me a selection of types and colors. And when I inquired about another item I had already selected she showed me a different option that was frequently purchased and was cheaper. Asheba & Crystal have both nurtured my hair during pregnancy & the postpartum stages- recommending what to do when I'm not here and course correcting bad hair practices that they've been able to detect without me even telling them. I always get the wash day special! It includes a wash, condition, steam treatment and trim if you need PLUS two strand twists or defined coils. And it's reasonably priced around $120! You can't beat that, especially now when most places want you to come prewashed. Another plus: they only schedule one person at a time so it may take you a while to get on the books but your time slot with your stylist will not be shared with anyone. Only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that you have to block out a large chunk of time to get your hair done as they sometimes move on the slower end.
