This is an extremely lengthy review but it's worth it in terms of summing up the dishonesty and lack of efficiency.
DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY. It is my neighborhood pharmacy and I have lived here for 10 years, refilled all my prescriptions here. The staff here is in real need of some customer service 101. I am not unreasonable and can understand when people have bad days at work especially with how this pharmacy is always busy. However, the pharmacy staff has NEVER once been polite or friendly at the least bit in my last 10 years of being their customer. The pharmacy check outs are very cold and their tone of voice just tells you how much they hate their job. Fine. I am not expecting stellar service from a pharmacy. HOWEVER, the way they operate is horrendous. Compared to all other pharmacies, Walgreens is supposed to be one of the "higher-end" ones. NOPE. The waiting time at the drive through or at the store is of no difference, ( I understand that they are always busy but never once have they been efficient in terms of waiting times and refilling times.) I have multiple prescriptions from various doctors, I don't know if its a pharmacy thing but they never bother to refill my prescription in the order it came, where they will just refill the newest one and let my old prescription expire without me knowing. (Fine, that's my job to track when it expires, but not when each pharmacy tech refills a different prescription of the same drug from a different doctor each time) This really messes up my order and I end up always having 2 prescriptions of the same drug at the same time as they never bother to stick to 1 prescription and finishing it then moving on to the newer prescription. These people simply do not care. When I do ask which prescription is being filled, and if they can refill the OLDER unexpired prescription -- it is either a reluctant Yes... OR when I come and pick it up it is under the newer prescription that I didn't want so I end up just leaving with it because I DONT have the time in my life to keep waiting or actually wait 1-2 hours for them to simply change the prescription refill number. This isnt demanding, it is me trying to keep track of my prescriptions and refill one -- finish it then move on to the next one. But no, these people just refill whichever they wish to and results in me losing refills due to expiration. Not only with my medications but this pharmacy seriously is in need of an operating manager or whatever that needs this pharmacy to survive. They are just lucky that a bunch of people who live nearby don't have the time to switch pharmacies and are still dealing with their crappy customer service and lack of efficiency. When I think of pharmacy, I think of efficiency. This pharmacy has NONE. After 10 years, I finally got sick of them due to them constantly CHANGING MY PRESCRIPTION brand name drug to another that they keep pushing me to use. I am referring to my asthma medication inhaler -- everytime a doctor refills me my preferred brand, this pharmacy changes to a MORE EXPENSIVE brand and tells me that it was my doctor who prescribed that brand. I know that they think I'm stupid and its my 1st rodeo, my doctor and I spoke about not prescribing ProAir since the pump mechanism of the inhaler is always faulty, leading to wastage of medicine. But mysteriously, when I go to pick up my meds, I have to ask which brand am I getting due to them constantly changing it behind my back, (Mind you, my insurance covers both brands! So that's no excuse). They will tell me "Oh, it's the same thing mam!" I told them it is not the same, it is the same drug but the inhaler pump that administers the medication is totally diffferent! Pharmacist likes to interrogate me like as if I'm stupid and I just got asthma today and I don't know what I'm talking about. She may have her degree in Pharmacology but I have asthma and I am the one using the inhaler which always gets jammed in the midst of an attack. What they end up telling is to CALL MY DOCTOR to change the name when it was originally done right!!! BUT WALGREENS changed the name in the first place because they simply keep trying to push ProAir the brand that I hate and wasn't on my prescription! Guess what? ProAir is more expensive too so go figure...
I officially transfered my pharmacy to yes you won't believe it, Walmart because a friend spoke highly about them. I don't even shop there. But you know what? To my astonishment, they are so efficient, the line moves really fast and the pharmtechs are so patient and friendly. I was not as nice to them as I was to Walgreens due to my experiences with pharmacies but Walmart has handled that so well that I feel bad they are getting this side of me when it was Walgreen's fault. Seriously, this isn't the only pharmacy in the neighborhood, IF YOU LIVE NEARBY GO TO KROGERS pharmacy or something, I promise you no matter where you go, it will make your life smoother and better as you can't go wrong. read more
