I rarely leave 1 star reviews, this may be the 2nd ever out of nearly 100 reviews, but I just experienced some of the most unprofessional customer service ever. I just called the store - inquiring about a product I wanted to pickup and the man who answered the phone was extremely dismissive and of zero help. I asked to clarify a product that was in stock, and was told "come here and check it yourself". I asked kindly again if he could check and he was quick to repeat the same thing again and hung up the phone asap. I wasn't rude, I was polite and I'd rather not drive all the way to pick up a product that may not be what I want. I would have been happy to wait however long it took to verify. Worst Walgreens I've ever been to. First, I'm on hold for more than two hours. I talk to techs, then get transferred to the pharmacist, and wait another hour to speak to anyone. It's just a 2-minute call to be told my medication was never ordered and two calls back in three days to go through the same experience Of course, I have to stay on the line for a whole extra hour. It doesn't make sense that my pharmacy experience can be equivalent to Spirit Airlines. I have to show up and wait another 30 minutes at the pharmacy to pick up my medication. This Walgreens is worse than calling and dealing with the IRS. I've been to good Walgreens, but this is not one of them. read more

Calling the pharmacy is ridiculous! They make you hold for 20 minutes or more they will pick up and not say anything then put you back on hold. Then if you were patient long enough to get through, they are a bit rude and after answering your first question they hang up without a goodbye or anything they just hang up and leave you bewildered. I have questions about my meds, and they are not helpful at all. The cashiers are slow as molasses. This location really needs corporate to get involved. As you can see there are many bad reviews, and nobody addresses any of them. Because they know they stink. Desperately needs new management. read more

I had a really great experience here today thanks to Laura at the pharmacy. After trying to get a control substance class pain medicine script filled at 5 CVS locations (all useless and clueless) decided to just try a Walgreens and pay out of pocket. When I came to the counter Laura was disinfecting the entire counter and window then proceeded to help me. She confirmed they had the pills and went over options since my insurance only wanted to cover 7 days out of the 30. The full script was $160 but thanks to her it was brought down to $25 by rn rolling me in the walgreens rx plan. I think she could see I was visibly in pain (due to cancer) and had the pharmacist expedite the filling while she enrolled me so I had the meds and didn't have to make a return trip. October 23 9:00pm. Employee was a short old lady. Working in the retail business for 3 years, both as a cashier and a shift manager, I the basic of working the register. First and most importantly you should engage with your customers if you see them enter. That did not happen but maybe she was busy. When checking customers out, at the bare minimum say hello. That did not happen. She looked at my item, scanned it, threw it in a bag and left me on my own to figure out my total. Didnt say good night or anything at all. This is perhaps my favorite Walgreens in the area not only because it is close but I find the selection of products very good. The staff is very friendly and helpful. While the regular prices can be a bit high, when there are sales prices they are very competitive. What I also like is that this location has two outdoor Redbox machines. read more

The pharmacy is shit, I had already heard things about it but I bought a house kinda close by so I figure I would try, it's trash their service isn't the best and they take longer to get medicine ready than any other pharmacy. The pharmacy in this store (Hell, at ALL WALGREENS STORES!!!) is a JOKE!!! Put in for 2 RX refills on Wednesday am. The app (which is EXTREMELY unreliable) somehow sent one of my prescriptions to a different store! I received both an email and a text that both prescriptions were ready Thursday morning. I requested delivery because I am disabled, and it's difficult for me to walk the 2 blocks to the nearest bus stop (I am medically banned from driving). I checked the status of my delivery every day, but each day, it stated that these 2 prescriptions were "ready for delivery", but were NOT SENT OUT!! On Saturday morning, I called and spoke to a pharmacy tech, who told me that my prescriptions were " delivered on Wednesday morning! I found that fascinating, because I had just put in the refills on Wednesday morning! So they would have had to be psychic and know before I put in the refills, that I needed this medication! She got upset with me and switched my call over to "someone that handles delivery"! I was told by that person that FedEx had not picked up the prescriptions for delivery that day! (It was already 11:30am!) She gave me a tracking number so I could see when they FINALLY decided to send out my meds. The tracking number showed that THEY HAD JUST PRINTED OUT THE LABEL, BUT THE PRESCRIPTION WAS NOT EVEN HANDED OVER TO FEDEX FOR DELIVERY!!! Today is Sunday, and I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY PRESCRIPTION!! DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME WITH WALGREENS IF YOU WANT A PHARMACY THAT ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT THE PATIENTS!! Me and my wife visited this Walgreens a few days ago and were very displeased at how the manager and staff handled a discrepancy of a sale item we were searching for. We had visited three different Walgreens locations less than a mile in between all three stores on South Cicero Ave., in search of the large 22 oz. Enfamil baby formula which was sold out at the 106th street and 95th street locations. We decided to stop at one final Walgreen's to see if we could find this particular size, which to our surprise, was on sale for a few dollars less than it's normal price. When we arrived at the 87th street store, we were glad to see that they did have the large size Enfamil in stock. The only problem was that the formula did not have the advertised sale price of the previous stores. My wife asked the clerk to check to see if the item was on sale and went on to explain how we had just stopped at two other walgreens stores. The clerk was a very young girl who seemed to care very little about our inquiry. She came back several minutes later and advised us that the formula was not on sale at this location. When we asked for an explanation as to why it was not the same price, she could not answer that question. We asked her to let us speak to a manager and she stated that the manager was busy but had told her that the price was the "normal" price as indicated. of course, neither of us were satisfied with her answer as she sounded like she made up the answer to avoid getting a manager. My wife insisted on speaking to the manager and the clerk finally went to get the manager. Now with the manager in play, we thought we could reach a reason as to the price difference. The manager basically gave us some spiel as to how store prices and sales vary in different areas and gave an example how the prices downtown were higher than his store. Really?? Ok, I understand the prices in the loop are more than most neighborhood Walgreen's, but this is Hometown for God's sake!!! You really are gonna hang your hat on the argument that basically is telling me that Hometown is that much different than Oaklawn!! Who ya crappin' ??? In the end, he stated that he could not give us the same sale price as the previous stores a few blocks away.. We left unhappy with that resolution and went across the street to CVS and got it for $2 cheaper than the Walgreens "normal" price and just $2 more than the walgreens sale price, but a whole lot happier with the CVS customer service. read more

This store is pretty clean and we'll stocked. I only come to convenience stores like this when I need something really quick because their prices are higher then a place like target. The line there is sometimes really long and I'm not sure why. read more

If I could I would rate this location 0 stars! Staff leader Kiyosha was at the register and was extremely rude! She did not acknowledge my inquiry and then as I repeated the request she rose her finger and told me to wait with an attitude. She was not currently busy so there was no excuse for her rude behavior! Additionally, as a staff leader I would expect that she would lead by example and be the personification of good customer service. Very disappointed! read more

I was not greeted as I am used to at other locations. The person which checked me out with my first purchase made no eye contact, didn't smile or say thank you. I asked to use the restroom and was given a head nod to indicate where it was. Only at my last purchase walking out the door was I met with good customer service. A refresher in customer relations would be great for the staff here. read more
