Situated on Murray Avenue, this pharmacy has been a convenient stop for my family's needs, especially when it comes to grabbing essentials for my children. I recall a time when my son was feeling under the weather, and I needed to get him some Gatorade and cough drops. I quickly made my way to the Rite Aid, assuming they would have the items I needed. However, as I stepped inside, I noticed that the store seemed a bit lackluster compared to its usual appearance. The shelves weren't fully stocked, and there was an air of disorganization that I hadn't experienced during my previous visits. Rite Aid drugstores filed for bankruptcy 10 months ago. Since that time, stores have been closing at a rapid rate and many that are still open are filled with empty shelves. So some of the issues here are expected.  Navigating through the aisles, I eventually found the Gatorade and but not the cough drops that I was looking for. The checkout process was smooth, but I couldn't help but wonder about the store's current state. It appeared that the Rite Aid was going through some issues.  This Rite Aide is in my daughter's neighborhood and I usually stop in here on my visits to Pittsburgh. This time I needed to get some Gatorade for #1 son and some cough drops as he was coming down with sniffles on my last day of our visit.  Bottom line: It's close and convenient for both my kids and I hope this Rite Aide survivestheor difficulties and can come back to their previous conditions.

Nice deli, a bakery (which is actually an inexpensive spot to get stuff like Danish) and all the aisles for getting in your steps on a crappy Winter (or hot Summer) day. Really I like Giant Eagle, I just avoid the fruit & veg (expensive) and bread (Schwebels Italiano for $4.75!?!) aisles. Not even worth walking down them. Just stick with sale items, items you get cheap because of the Giant Eagle card, and the meat dept. but only for sale and items getting marked down because the sell by date is getting close. The employees are always friendly, and helpful. The store is well stocked, except for Asian food items which is pretty crappy. Two kinds of soy sauce? Seriously? Overall, this Giant Eagle gets four of five stars. Oh, and a s###-ton of different brands and flavors of ice cream. I do like that.

If you call corporate customer service, their policy is to accept walk ins for a flu shot. However this location says it's by appointment only. So, appointment was scheduled for 11:20am. Arrived 10 minutes early and let them know we were there. Sat there for over 45 minutes waiting. I had already completed all paperwork online prior to arriving, there was not one other person inside waiting for anything. Just someone that "walked in" wanting to get a shot. At about the 20 minute mark they had me sign papers so they could bill my insurance and told us that they would be out in a second to administer the shot. I will admit, the store appeared clean and well stocked. Just can't get past the fact that you have to have an appointment to get a flu shot then are expected to wait 45+ minutes to receive it. Apparently the staff hear can only administer 1 shot an hour? Or maybe they are just lazy and don't want to do anything. Next time I will just go to my PCP, the wait time is less, and that's just sad.

I wanted to use my CVS coupons, ya know, the ones with their loyalty program. I looked up the closest one and the Waterfront showed up. Cool. I will head there. Little did I know on lookup that it was not a stand-alone store. Instead, it was inside Target. Ok... So, I head towards that section of Target for CVS and select over the counter cold meds, and band aids. I then begin to question and realize this shopping experience may not go down as planned for how will they tell which are a Target vs. CVS purchases. Sooo I stop at the CVS counter where it takes quite, emphasis on quite a few minutes for anyone to acknowledge my presence (yes, they see me) much less come to the counter. When they do I ask what counts towards a CVS discount? The answer is what I feared... only prescriptions are CVS purchases. Everything else is a Target purchase, therefore not eligible for CVS loyalty program discount. Soooo, be forewarned if you didn't know any different like me.... I obviously still purchased what I had since my head cold mood wasn't going to hold out for shopping at a different stand-alone CVS. So, yeah, take that CVS... 2 stars for not being able to give me the same CVS experience I have come to expect. Ya could at least call yourself something else when I Google you like CVS prescriptions only.....

This particular Costco in Homestead opened in 2007, and it contains many of the same types of products as do other locations of Costco. For several years, my husband and I have been Executive members of Costco, and we have off and on shopped at this Costco. This store includes departments of groceries, electronics, jewelry, appliances, clothing, accessories, health and beauty, books, optical, hearing aid center, pharmacy, food court, gas station, tire center, etcetera. We shop here to stock up on groceries (e.g., chicken, salmon, pierogies, asparagus, caesar salad, and granola bars), household cleaning products (e.g., paper towels, toilet paper, and pods for laundry and dishes), and hygiene products (e.g., contact solution). They also have good deal on gift cards, winter coats, computers, and batteries. We think that Costco's products are a high quality and that their prices are low. I often forget to bring my large tote bags from home, so I appreciate that Costco provides free cardboard boxes near the cash registers. The cashiers have always accurately rung up our purchases and politely thanked us.

But 2 Pepperoni slices and a drink for a final total of $5.12 is PRETTY amazing this day and age. For the cost, your getting something that costs a bit above that. It's not Cafeteria pizza bad but it's also not going to make a local hall of fame. In a pinch though, this steal came in SO RIDICULOUSLY handy.
