They never have anything in stock at the pharmacy, it takes days for them to order meds. Also never restock product on the shelves. You end up waiting in line forever for your scripts and then if you need something from the store you have to find it and if you're lucky enough to, you get to wait in a line halfway through the store because of understaffing and every checkout is incredibly slow, mostly because of their ridiculous swipe machine that asks so many questions it's impossible to even pay and check out quickly. Also they continue to defy city ordinances and never remove the snow from the sidewalks around their store or the pedestrian entrance. Recently fell and injured myself badly on black ice and almost got run over because I couldn't get up. They don't care they just keep doing it. Also a couple of the staff are nice but some are either outrageously incompetent or there's one girl that reminds me of Samara from The Ring. Completely creeps me out because she doesn't usually speak, just gives a mean blank scare. Spooky. This store is the only one I can make it to usually, being disabled and having no transportation so I wish they'd do better but for people with the freedom of choice I would not recommend this Walgreens.

Additionally, they noticed my package was rather large and told me I could put it up on the counter instead of standing with it in line while they helped the customer before me. Additional customers went up to a different counter and the employee let them know they would be right with them too. Seems like just little things, but I really appreciate their attention to detail and emotionally intelligent customer service--we need more everyday workers like them!!

This is a review of the MinuteClinic inside the pharmacy. The MinuteClinic describes itself on…read moretheir website as a walk-in clinic so I showed up a little after 10 a.m. on Friday. The area of the store is well marked, easy to find and nicely designed. Unfortunately, nice design can't make up for the impersonal tech and rude personnel. You check in on a kiosk, and the kiosk only allows you to make an appointment for later in the day, not check-in as "waiting for an appointment/walk-in." There was only one person waiting for an appointment in the waiting area, but the first appointment the kiosk offered me was for 5:40 p.m., 7.5 hours later. Seven-plus hours is not a reasonable walk-in clinic wait time, so I figured there might be a problem with the kiosk, or maybe I had selected a wrong setting. I had to go over to the pharmacy counter to ask how to speak with someone from the MinuteClinic to confirm the wait time/get help with the kiosk. The tech told me there's no one to speak with there except the providers who do your exams. I figured with someone else waiting I might see one of the providers soon, so I sat down and waited patiently for a staff member to come out so I could ask about the wait time. When a 30-something blonde in a white lab coat (she didn't identify herself and didn't appear to be wearing any sort of badge/nametag) came out within a few minutes to call the only other person in the waiting area in for his appointment, she was rude to me about not having checked in before sitting down in the waiting area, even when I explained that I just wanted to know about the wait time, and if the seven-hour timeframe between now and the appointment time offered was accurate. Instead of offering to help me with the kiosk to confirm that I was doing it right, she was sarcastic and mocked me for having thought I could go to the walk-in clinic without an appointment and be seen within a couple of hours -- even though that's exactly the business model of walk-ins, which is (again) how Minuteclinic advertises itself. I was very embarrassed and ended up leaving. This could have been avoided with honest advertising and actual human staff rather than automated systems. If the Minuteclinic cannot accommodate walk-in patients and only takes patients by appointment, they should say so on their website or post it somewhere in the store. If there had been someone at the store's MinuteClinic area to help customers, they could have confirmed wait times, helped me with the kiosk or suggested a time when walk-ins are actually seen within a reasonable timeframe (Anything under two hours, really). I'm sure CVS is saving money through automation and barebones staffing, but there's no substitute for a knowledgeable person, especially in customer service and healthcare.

The morale at this location has clearly deteriorated. I have been to many pharmacies throughout my adult life, including several CVS's in Florida and others in CT. It appears that some people in this location have allowed their dissatisfaction with their employer to affect their customer service. They could very well also be affecting the morale of their fellow employees. They do not return phone calls, are abrupt more often than not, and seem to lack the insight, at least some compassion that their customers are most oftentimes visiting the pharmacy for reasons they would rather not... that is, because they are ill and require assistance. I understand being understaffed. In fact, that is the reason I wrote my review last year. Rudeness and treating people as if you are bothering them or putting them out of their way when you are there to provide a service is not acceptable. I worked my entire career being understaffed and overworked. Had I treated a customer or client that way I would have been removed from my position. It's not unusual. I treated people rudely I would have been removed from my position. And that works both ways. No customer should be rude and subject an employee to take any form of abuse. I know there are plenty of people out there who feel entitled to do that. I do wish the staff the best in having to work under such circumstances, but after today's experience I will be filling my scripts at another location and hope for the better service and experience I have had at other CVS's.

On multiple occasions I've experienced unpleasantness with perceived or actual "cutting in line" because it is so poorly laid out. Today however was the worst. I tried to upload $20 cash onto an app, and the associate ran it through a 'counterfeit checker'. I've done this over 100 times before and only this time was a $20 bill run through such a machine. Apparently the machine was defective because it produced a negative result. The associate assumed I had no other money. Perhaps because I was wearing a somewhat dirty shirt because I work on boats making 3x what a CVS associate makes. I had to drive to the Flanders/East Lyme location where I was able to successfully complete my transaction. The associate at this location didn't run my bill through a checker, but I asked her to run the same $20 bill through such a machine if they had one. They did and it came up as legit. I wasted 25 minutes driving uptown because of the combination of a defective bill checker in the Niantic location and the associates apparent incompetence. Second time in less than a week I had to walk out because of silliness on the front end. Worst CVS location I've been to.
