We started our visit out by him complaining in the waiting room about how much his dentistry program cost him and how much he had in student loans (blah, blah, blah) and how now the government wants to tax people more for student loans to then him grumbling as he walked away "they are barking up the wrong tree" (great fist impression and super professional, right?). Then we move on to our 7 year old who was getting sealants on her molars. She was scared, didn't know what to expect, the sealant comes in something that resembles a shot which had her scared. Rather than calmly explaining anything he starts jabbing it into his hand and firmly saying "this will only take 20 seconds a tooth. I don't want to be here any longer than I have to be (WOW)". Then he proceeds to yell at the assistant "MORE SUCTION" (because that's not scary for the 7 year old patient who is already nervous). After it was all done he shoves the cotton swab in my daughters face to prove it wouldn't hurt her as she was crying. I'm trying to chalk up the experience so far to him just being a little quirky and trying to be funny. Then we move on to our son. Meanwhile I'm still consoling our daughter so Dad goes in with our son. Well little did I know the experience was only going to get worse! His bed side manner is HORRID! I am still curious if maybe he was in a hurry because his mannerisms lead us to believe he wanted to get the heck out of there. Not only was he rude about our son not knowing his left from right (which he does but hello tense situation) to him threatening our son telling him if he didn't stop crying he was going to make his dad leave the room (because being ALONE at the dentist wouldn't be scary and make you cry even more). Well he asks dad to leave to which I then see... I walk down the hallway at this point and go into the room where our son is he is ripping off the paper bib and is yelling "THATS IT HE NEEDS A SPECIALIST". I'm trying to console our kiddo who is beyond traumatized while my husband is telling the dentist that his bed side manner sucks and that he should try talking to kids like they are kids to which the lovely dentist replies "GET OUT". Trust me we couldn't get out of there fast enough. I've now chalked the experience up to this guy being a complete A$$ hole who shouldn't be in business at all! Soooo we go up to the front where the super kind assistant was who was fumbling around with papers, meanwhile the lovely dentist walks up and slams our file down and yells "BYEEEEEE" as he stomps down the hall. Totally unbelievable! We assured the assistant that she was wonderful but the dentist was absolutely horrible and the entire point was to make our kids feel calm going to the dentist when in fact the exact opposite happened! We were referred to this office by a close friend who has also agreed will not returning ever again. It is VERY clear this dentist John McRee is not in this profession for the right reasons at all. I would avoid this dentist at all costs!!!!!
