Today my husband ran out of syringes for his insulin. When I came here to the Pharmacy I explained what kind of syringes were needed for his insulin. The girl who waited on me said it would cost $100 dollars for 100 syringes. I have never spent that much before for his syringes. I ended up going to Walmart where it cost me around 14 dollars for 100 syringes. I told a number of people and they said to call Walgreen's back and check since their price sounded wrong. I talked to the pharmacist and he told me it wasn't $100.00 but only $19.00. I almost gave this girl a hundred dollars because my husband needed his insulin. My husband has been very ill and this added so much more stress onto our lives. read more

Try going to the store when the younger supervisor and assistants are working. They are very helpful unlike the older, rude and bitter ladies who have nothing else to do but take pride in bossing people around in a disrespectful way. Avoid them as much as you avoid Covid. Half the time, either their computer at the photo kiosk is out of order (because the older bitter ladies do not know how to use it) or the printer is broken. Pretty much the same as all Walgreens but I did want to pass along they have a 2 for 3 special on candy bars. I got three kitkat bars for only 2 bucks. If you need sundries you should stop by and get a good deal on some candy. read more

Review for photo and "manager" Jake: I have hesitated to write this review, after having had several negative experiences here. Walgreens' photos are very, very inexpensive. Their software to upload your pics is not exactly user friendly. Their software to upload your photos resizes, re-centers, and cuts off your images. When I called to see what we can do about this, he told me to re-edit them on my own computer ... that means go through 177 of my own photos, pick and choose which ones on my own computer I need redone, re-edit to make them OFF-centered to accommodate Walgreens' photo software, then they'll come out right. Then I have to go back into my photos to fix them for NORMAL SOFTWARE. I'd like to pay a little more to be able to SHUT OFF the feature in Walgreens' software for my job that messes up the centering and cuts things off. No can do. Jake's customer service skills need fine-tuning. He offered for me to bring in a thumb drive and they'd walk me through it. Been there and done that with him. Which brings me to previous negative experiences. HE DOESN'T LIKE APPLE PRODUCTS and said so. So that isn't a good start for him helping you if you have Apple. I feel sick that I have wasted more than three hours at this and have about half my photos that I can even use. Jake's tone is: Nope! Sorry! I went shopping at this store midday yesterday . During checkout I saw three teens in line not wearing face masks. Three out of four cashiers and the store manager had face masks but the masks were only covering their mouth. When I ask the cashier helping me I ask if face masks were required in the store and she replied yes. I ask "Then why are those three teens allowed in the store without one"? Her reply was we can't make them wear one. Besides they are teenagers and don't listen anyway. The teens bought 2 Arizona Ice tea drinks. I spent 60 dollars. COVID doesn't discriminate but this store doesn't care if someone dies because they refuse to enforce state mandated rules. Any life certainly is worth more than the sale of two ice teas. I questioned the staff on the company policy regarding enforcement of the mask mandate issued for our state. Was told by lady checking me out that it was company policy to require mask but they did not enforce the policy. When I questioned why I was told to leave the store. I also observed an employee with her mask around her neck talking to another employee. read more

The pharmacy here is sad, 95% of our prescription fills are not filled for the full amount, on the first visit, that was prescribed as they either don't have it in stock or very little in stock. And then, with a straight face, they will tell you it is caused by "your" (our) medical plan causing the problem / shortage of the prescription. read more

I got stuck in Gardnerville due to the covid crisis and needed my medication transfer over from my pharmacy back home. When I called they said they would call my pharmacy, I went in hours later they said they called. Called again the next day and they said they hadn't heard back from my pharmacy, finally I called my pharmacy and they hadn't called once. I am now late on my medication. If they would have told me they'll call tomorrow I would have looked somewhere else. This is the worst pharmacy I ever been to. My husband and I went there for four years and they never would get it right. We would get a call from them saying come pick up your prescription there ready. They would say if we didn't go that day they would put back and we would have to get a new RX. We would go there and it was never ready. I don't know if they only do this to older people, but they are going to give us a heart attack. read more

The drive-through is the worst I can literally wait there for 20 minutes and up and then when I get to the window I have to wait another five minutes sometime before they even talk to me I've also had missing pills before had a call and let them know going to get the police involved before it was resolved. read more

Pharmacy nightmares- to many to mention. 90 minute wait today (again) for 3 simple/generic rx's. that were promised in 45 min Wrong drug (again) for my husbands long-standing 90 day rx'. He was given a dangerous drug that he just spent 2 weeks being weaned off. We get calls saying you rx is ready - we drive the 45 min to get there. Not ready. The 90 day rx's are filled for 30 days each and every time- despite numerous calls and conversations promising it won't happen again. Why is this so difficult? I guess it's time for a new pharmacy. I don't have anymore hours to burn waiting in Walgreens. read more

Probably one of the worst Walgreens that I have ever been to, I get notified that my prescription is ready and IT WAS NOT. It took 3 hours to get it ready and even then it was still wrong, I didn't even get my full dose. Will never go back here ever again. read more

Tanya at the Gardnerville Pharmacy is the best pharmacist I have ever had the privilege to work with. Our insurance deductible is HUGE due to high premium prices and she has made a world of difference to our family. She cares for every one of her patients and makes everyone feel as if they are number 1!. When I have ordered simple creams for a rash the price was $500 for a small tube. Tanya called my doctor to see if there was an alternative cream that I could buy at a lower price. She found something almost identical for $5.00 instead of $500.00. We are so grateful for Tanya. The pharmacy staff is HORRIBLE! I've never done business with people that are so rude and unprofessional. These people don't even care. And the Pharmacy manager (I believe her name is Tonya) is the worst. No wonder her Pharmacy is being run by a bunch of immature people. She's setting the tone. The store itself is neat, very clean, well-stocked, and well-organized. HOWEVER, I would not use their pharmacy unless you have an infinite amount of time to wait (with no cell service) and the patience to keep coming back after they dupe you into thinking your prescription is ready. The only other compounding pharmacy in the area is Dahl's, which is 18 miles away at the north end of Carson City. So this is the only gig around and they couldn't give a damn about you or whether you value your time. My wife orders a compounded medication every 3 months and several times we have been called by a real person (not just the automated system they tell you to ignore) telling us it is ready or will be ready in an hour, only to be told (after waiting in line for 20 minutes) it is not ready and will be available in another day or two. The staff is professional, but very sloth-like and it's a different sloth every single visit. Tonight's example: I was called by a real person on Friday afternoon and was told the prescription would be available for pick-up in an hour or two. We live 35 minutes south and the need was not urgent (still had some pills left from prior order), so I said I'd be in on Tuesday following the Labor Day weekend. After waiting in line for the obligatory 20 minutes, I was told, alas, the prescription was not ready but would be compounded the next day. Big surprise. read more

I moved to Gardnerville a couple years back and was familiar with my home town Walgreens and set up business with them for prescription fulfillment. 1) I would use the prescription telephone set-up which includes the pick up time. Rarely would the prescriptions be ready as promised. 2) I have a great prescription benefit as part of our Teamster Medical Program. 100% pay on their part except for one prescription. Walgreens has quoted me 3 different prices starting with $300 and working their way down to $135. Just quote me the right or best price the first time. I fulfill 5 prescriptions a month and I feel like a regular customer. Price gouging is not appreciated. 3) The straw that broke the camels back happened this morning. I had oral surgery on my gums and bone and was trying to fulfill my pain and prescription. The prescription was not filled out correctly by the dentist it was missing my date of birth. When I asked if there was another way to handling it beside a 2 hour round trip drive the Pharmacist herself responded that's yours and your dentists problem not mine. I guess they don't teach apathy at the medical school she attended. Strike 3 Walgreens is out on every level. I never shop there again for any product. read more

I've been with them for ten years now, maybe more. I don't remember. The question is, why? The service and everything associated with the service has been in gradual decline for some time. Tonight was the last straw. After being in line for nearly fifteen minutes (12 to be exact as it has taken so long lately that I've started keeping track) I decided to make sure my prescription was even going to be there if I was going to wait longer. I called and it was not. I had refilled it by phone and been assured it would be ready the next day. Not only did they not have it, they had no record of it even being called in. By now it had been fifteen minutes in line (drive thru) and I did not want to wait any longer so I talked with the lady behind me and she backed up and let me out of line so I could leave. When I got home, I called again to reorder the prescription. After being on hold for an additional fifteen minutes, someone picked up the phone and hung up on me without ever saying hello. That was it. I would call and talk with someone at the store if I thought it would do any good but my wife uses Rite Aide right across the street and raves about their service and how kind they are. My 2 toddlers and I all had strep throat. My son and I had been diagnosed the day before and gotten antibiotics, so I decided I better check my daughter too and yep she had it too. I chose Walgreens since my pediatrician could send it over and we could be there in 20min so I didn't need to expose anyone else to our contagious illness. I saw my pediatrician send it electronically and they told me it was there. I took my time to get to Walgreens and was there 30min later. I drove thru, and was told that they just got the order and it would be ready in 20min. So we waited 40min in a hot car and went back where they asked me about flavoring the antibiotic and took another 10min to mix it. Why couldn't they have asked me that when I originally came to the window? And then when the perscription was finally ready, they spent another 5min needing to update their computer with my info. Why couldn't that be done while they were mixing the flavor? I walked both my and my son's perscriptions into Costco the night before and they paged me and had me out of there in 25min. It made me realize that most people would have let their sick, contagious kids run around the store and touch everything if it takes over an hour for Walgreens to fill one perscription of a premixed medication. I am very disappointed by my experience at this store. I went to the store for an advertised item the day the promotion started: they had none in stock. They told me to come back Friday, after the delivery truck came. I did: none of the advertised item. The manager asked me what I wanted, and the quantity, and I told her. I asked if I could get a rain check, and she assured me that she would remember me, and would be sure that I got the advertised item at the advertised price, in the quantity I wanted. I checked back the next time they had a delivery, and the employee at the counter told me that the item had arrived. I asked for the quantity I had been promised, and she brought it out. I mentioned the advertised price, and she called for the manager. After more than 5 minutes, the manager didn't appear. She called again and the manager called her on the store phone. She explained the situation, and the manager remembered me, and said I could have no more than half of the quantity I had been promised. She also would not come forward to talk to me in person. I bought what I was allowed, and filled out the Walgreen's survey on the receipt. At the end, since I had given a poor rating, the survey asked if I wanted to be contacted. I indicated that I did - and have never heard from them, even though it has been over 30 days. The lack of ability to conduct honest business, the refusal to issue a rain check or honor a commitment, and the fact that my complaint was ignored by the corporate office makes this a place I don't want to deal with. The regular store staff has always been very nice to deal with, but a store that has managers this shady is one I don't want to deal with, and an unresponsive corporate culture makes it clear to me that they only want to deal with people who write them glowing reviews, and not handle problems. read more
