I see Walgreens has 2.5 stars now. That's too many. I just visited Walgreens in Fountain hills for a simple task: Get passport photos taken. A young man, about 17 didn't want to take photos, because my business asked for photos in two shirts. He started asking me why I needed this and questioned the legality. Really? He asked me why I needed them. A Sheriff was there getting donuts or some anxiety meds, and he began to eavesdrop. The young man kept going up the the cop. This is a simple task - take the photos. The "shift lead", an incompetent, rude man named "Dan", came up to question me. He asked why THE SHERRIFF WAS PRESENT. How the hell do I know why the cop was at the register, eavesdropping. The manager suggested the cop was there to follow me, and he was making sure I was not a problem. The cop was not associated with me. The manager continued on his abusive rant, and suggested he would call the sheriff. I asked what for? Bad customer service and rude treatment? Dan said "I have four witnesses who will say whatever we want". He did suggest I go to CVS. I did just that. I told my story to the pleasant woman there, and she took my photos. It was VERY BUSY at CVS. Walgreens was empty except for the numerous idle employees, and the transient cop looking for drugs. CVS reminded me that Walgreens stock was under 12. I looked. They collapsed and were taken private. The PE firm should eliminate the Fountain Hills store and let CVS and Safeway take the few remaining customers they have. I see why the company collapsed. Horrible employees, horrible management, threatening, lazy and disorganized. They are demoralized and rude. Thankfully, I found CVS. Fountain Hills is generally populated by "snowbirds" during "silver season". Younger workers there are rude and disrespectful of anyone Gen X or Boomer. Their contempt is stunning. In this case, the young man who presumed it was "criminal" to ask for two passport photos in different shirts, called me senile and "paranoid". Now - the punk who was worried about "suspicious" passport photos and trying to involve the sheriff getting his anti anxiety meds was definitely paranoid. They are simply PHOTOS. Yet, an interrogation occurred. the store manager is headed for a happy unemployment, as this location will definitely be closed by the hedge fund who took that failing business private. I have used this Walgreens for over 15years. The pharmacy and cashier's have continued to improve over the years. The staff is Well - trained, competent and courteous. Karen and Dan are exceptional employees along with the rest of the staff!!! read more

I called on Saturday afternoon and asked if a prescription could be delivered to me on Sunday. It was for pain relief. I had a friend that offered to pick it up but the Walgreens pharmacy in Fountain Hills assured me by phone that I would have it Sunday afternoon. Sunday afternoon I received a test telling me my prescription would be delivered Monday afternoon. A prescription for PAIN RELIEF . To return an item, like hand cream, customers must provide a driver's license. Absurd!! Thousands of stores process returns every day, and all you need is the receipt, the product and sometimes the same payment card used at time of purchase. The prices of Walgreens' products are also not competitive. CVS and other similar stores have much better prices. I just compared hand creams. Walgreens are almost as expensive as the high end name brands. Target, CVS and others are almost 20% to 30% less than Walgreens'. No wonder Walgreens is in financial doodoo and having to restructure. I frankly don't know how it is still in business. If it were not for the equity money propping it up and the hundreds of stores it is closing, it would have been long gone. The names of all the recent senior executives should be listed on an online "leaders wall of shame" for mismanagement!!! You are better off sitting in the comfort of your home and ordering from Amazon instead of wasting gas going to Walgreens and finding they do not have what you need. I strongly suggest taking your business somewhere else! The worst pharmacy I have ever experienced dealing with! They never pick up the phone no matter if it's 8am or 8 pm! Always a line of ten cars in the drive thru and ten people waiting in line inside. The pharmacist are not helpful and consistently forget to fill what you have asked for or give you the wrong items. The reason I am giving two stars is that they have a location close to home and a drive thru. Pharmacy never staffed enough, prescriptions are never ready when promised, ongoing misunderstandings between physician and pharmacy staff incompetence causing delays in taking necessary medicine. Jon is the most disrespectful, self centered assistant manager I have ever met. He continuously talks bad about his employees behind everyone's back, and even calls them names to their faces. Alicia, the store manager, never writes him up for any of the bullying he continuously puts on all of his employees, and neither of them care to have their workers stay for 16 hours a day just to complete what they want, giving no thanks to anyone whatsoever. Warning....if you make an appointment (and get a confirmation number from Walgreens) for a COVID vaccine, that does not necessarily mean anything. Took my 83 year old, immunocompromised, mother for her booster shot and they said they had no vaccine available. When I showed them my confirmation number and emailed appointment confirmation, they said it didn't matter because they don't have any vaccine. Reminds me of the old Seinfeld bit at the rental car agency when they didn't have his rental car. "Anyone can take a reservation, the trick part is actually following through." So, I'm reluctant to make another vaccine appointment because I'll never know if they will actually be able to "follow through" with the vaccine despite having a reservation. read more

9/15/2019 early a.m. Went in to get our flu shots. Waited in line behind a very elderly person using a walker who had been waiting in line when we arrived. Finally, the pharmacist appeared was curt at best to this elderly person telling them to sit down & wait to fill out paperwork for a shingles shot. We mentioned to hopefully save time, that we were there to get flu shots thinking it would help her get our paperwork at the same time. The pharmacist, harried & rudely replied, "well, it'll be a while!". This pharmacy is almost always short staffed, unfriendly, & rude. Not to worry Walgreens, CVS appreciates the business. Only reason we go in there or use drive up is my Rx plan which I'm considering switching because we're just tired of them. read more

Take Care Clinic - Betty Hahn APN- Best Clinic ever! They take Insurance!!! I never never get sick. I have been coughing and feeling as though I was getting the flu for a week. Taking OTC meds.. Not getting better but getting worse. I don't have a Dr.So I took a chance and waited for the Take Care Clinic to open at my Walgreen's in Fountain Hills.. Best decision ever. The PA- Ms. Betty Hahn was amazing- spending a lot of time with me and examining me and diagnosed me with Bronchitis and acute sinusitis and gave me prescriptions that were sent right to the in-house Pharmacy and I got my scripts right away. She also said I should stay home for 48 hours and gave me a note for work. Best Healthcare service I have ever received in my life. I would recommend this Take Care Clinic on Palisades Blvd to everyone and anyone even if you have a Dr. they make it so very easy just check in on the computer and you go into a real patient room. Very private and very comfortable.. No waiting either.. I am feeling better already. Thank you. read more

I just moved to a Fountain Hills and needed to switch my medications an area pharmacy. I have dealt with Walgreens from coast to coast and have almost always had a pleasant experience, each time. That all changed when I went to the Walgreens on Palisades in FH. The first encounter was with a cashier in the pharmacy. I had a small handful of items that I got from the pharmacy area. There were no other patrons in line inside the store and one person at the drive-thru that the other pharmacy staff member was helping. The lady at the drive-thru had a question for the cashier that was helping me. Instead of him politely asking me to go to the front cashier to check out, he shouted to the other staff member, "WAIT! I'm stuck at this counter with someone that could have waited. Tell the lady outside she will have to wait, I'll eventually get over to help her" in a very rude demeanor. I was simply trying to check out. I would have gladly taken my items to another cashier if I had been asked. I actually apologized to him for taking up his time. He ignored my apology, so I just left. The second time was with a pharmacist. I took a script in for a narcotic. My doctor had changed my dosage and asked me to have the pharmacy contact her when I went to fill it so that she could explain why the dose increased. I was in line for a long time because it was close to New Years, I didn't have an issue with that. They were all working very hard and had a lot of patrons checking out at the time. They got the script info and I told the lady helping me what was going on with the scripts I had filled previously, also they would need to call my dr in Colorado, she would explain the change. She took down the info and said it would be a 20 minute wait. In 30 minutes I came back and the pharmacist....IN FRONT OF EVERYONE, not even in private at the consult counter, was almost shouting at me that I had just filled a narcotic prescription and I had "too many pills" that I needed to "finish what I had before they would look at any more scripts from me", and that "no one would fill that prescription". I was mortified. She didn't even give me a chance to explain why I had that large of a dosage or that she needed to contact my dr to have her explain the situation. She treated me like I was some kind of drug addict criminal and this happened in front of a whole line of complete strangers. I left the store in tears. I called my dr and told her the story. Long story short, I took my script to a different store and the pharmacist was happy to call my dr, get the story, and fill my script. My hip and back were fractured when I was raped and I also have cancer. I have never been treated so poorly in my life. I didn't get the pharmacists name, I should have but I was so upset, I didn't think to ask but she's short with dark hair and darker colored skin. I will avoid this pharmacy for the remainder of my time here being treated at Mayo. I have since changed all my scripts to Safeway. If I could give this place a half of a star, that would be my rating! The pharmacy staff is AWFUL! read more

All of the negative reviews coming in before this one concerning the Pharmacy services are 100% on target with absolutely no exaggeration. I have waited on the phone on hold for at least 1 hour and the call is never picked up. I have even gone so far as to walk into the pharmacy with the call on hold only to see no customers at the counter, no customers in line, no customers lined up at the drive-thru.....AND STILL, NO ONE PICKED UP MY PHONE CALL!!! That is one fuck of a way to run a business, and frankly, the Covid excuse has become old, worn out and over used. Walgreens in Fountain Hills must not realize that the Safeway Pharmacy directly next door to Walgreens picks up calls in well under 5 minutes. The manager, Alicia, should be held accountable for the poor service.....but it would probably be easier to just take your business elsewhere. Once a company enters into the "millennial slacker" mode, there is not much that can be done to change the management vibe. read more

On Friday, February 26th, 2016 my primary healthcare practitioner called in an extension to my prescription. On Saturday, February 27th, I arrived at Walgreens at 3:00 PM, and was told the script had never been called in. I called my doctor, she said she would re-submit the prescription. I arrived at the pharmacy, again, at 5:15 PM on Saturday (2/27/16). I inquired at the pharmacy counter about my prescription. At that time, the pharmacist on duty, Shital Patel, interjected herself into the conversation. While the cashier was filling the bag, she asserted that she never had received my doctor's order on Friday. She was defensive, abrasive and rude. No apology was offered that I had to make two trips to the store in the same day. I understand that the pharmacy receives numerous "call-ins" per day. However, here, the doctor did her job. The mistake was on Walgreens. Nonetheless, the pharmacist appeared to completely lack any concern for the customer. She was, instead, patronizing and condescending. Imagine my surprise when I arrived home to find that there were TWO bottles of antibiotics in the bag. Thus, not only had the pharmacist received both scripts, but she filled them both and charged me for both. The most unfriendly Walgreens pharmacy around. When an employee asked pharmacists a ?, she responded she did not have time for ? I dropped off a written script & when I went to pick it up, they said they had not received it from Dr. Then they checked & there was the written script I dropped off. No apology. Another time was never told they were out of stock, so waited 40 minutes & then no script. I have given them a chance but they never improve. I will drive to Via Linda & Frank Lloyd Wright location from now on. Also was shorted pills once. Warning to anyone using this location, they are the worst run pharmacy I have ever used. I find it very convenient that this location has a chase bank atm. It really saves me time. I love it. I also like the t shirts being sold here, always some cool local shirts. Candy is usually on sale and you can get vitamins for a pretty good price. It's a good pharmacy. Average prices and ran well. They have a drive thru pharmacy!! read more

This Walgreen's Pharmacy is undoubtedly the rudest of any pharmacy I have ever used. There have been numerous times I have experienced this and I have seen others being treated the same way. I have even called the main office and complained, they took every detail and thanked me for calling. However, this continues to happen. This store was not our choice. Walgreen's had a store on Shea Blvd that we used until a couple of years ago when they closed the store. The Palisades store is closer to my home but has had the rudest employees forever. After an incident yesterday I am now shopping for a different pharmacy completely! I am completely done with Walgreen's!! After years of trying to encourage my husband (60 yrs old) to get a Rx for viagra, or something in that same vein, he finally got a script. He gathered his courage and took it to the pharmacy at this Walgreens. The script was for 30 pills and he was told that it was going to cost him about $460.00. But that wasn't the worst of it. . . The females behind the counter were snickering at him, and making him feel like crap. Is it any wonder that there are so many senior couples that can't have sex? Who would want to endure this kind of humiliation. I don't think that those twits behind the counter fully understand the impact that E.D. has on a man. That it can contribute to his self esteem, his pride, and overall emotional health. So when a mans not able to function, and his emotional health is compromised, this will start to affect his physical health, and it's downhill from there. How dare these (professionals) behind the Rx counter, act juvenile and grossly unprofessional, this shows me just how immature they are. That they don't understand how important a man's ability to connect with his wife in a sexual manner is beyond stupid. We've since transferred any scripts he had to CVS, where I've gone for years. We will never set foot in this store again, and I tell everyone I know of this incident, and hold for my own private boycott.
