WORST PHAMACY EVER...WORST PHARMACISTS EVER!!!!
I am the caregiver for my mom. She had a stroke while in surgery for a leg amputation. She is now paralyzed except her left arm. The amputation causes extreme pain for her and we, the doctor and myself, are working on a pain management therapy for her starting on a lower dose of gabapentin, 300mg. Well there was an error in the current prescription and I did not notice. I found out after I was running low. Then to make matters worse when I was giving my mother pills I accidentally spilled them on her table and knocking her water over while trying to stop them from rolling onto the floor. Well I stopped them, but ruined them by soaking them so I had none. Stupid clumsy me. Tried getting ahold of the doctor, but she has no hours on weekend, no office staff because she only sees patients in their house. If you take care of some with limited mobility you know these kind of doctors are hard to find and are always full, usually not taking on new patients because they have too many already. Which is a down fall because trying to reach her it difficult, it can take a week or long for her to get back to you. So I contacted the pharmacist told her what happened and if she could help me. She said she would give me 23 pill for $15. I then looked on the goodrx app and found a coupon for 30 pills for $7.89 at cvs. So I went to cvs for the cheaper price. Turns out I had a valid prescription for a lower dose at cvs as well. So I wanted to fill that one use my coupon and pay cash. Because insurance would not pay too soon for refill. I get that. Well explain the situation and the cvs tech insisted on calling the insurance for payment I guess but I was worried that if he did that it would effect the current higher dose. He said he was too busy to deal with it so we left to go to a different cvs that was not too busy. Told them the same story and why we left the other cvs. He said fine he could do it but wanted to call Walgreens. Not sure what was said but now CVS is refusing to fill it. So fine I'll go to Walgreens and pay a higher price. Go there and the pharmacist manager informe she thinks I'm abusing the gabapentin because I went to cvs after she agreed to do a partial full for cash. I tried to explain to her i only went there because i found a coupon on goodrx for less. She became condescending, smug and plan out rude. She told me if she is in so much pain take her to the emergency room. One I would have to call 911 to get an ambulance and two insurance won't pay the $1,000 bill. She responds with take her to a walk in clinic. Again my only way to transport her is by ambulance and I dont even have a wheelchair accessible car. So she implies that I am lying which proves her point of abuse because she has never known anyone paralyzed with only one doctor. Not sure what that has to do with my choice of one specialized doctor for stroke patients or how that prove my abuse. But ok. And exactly how am I abusing gabapentin? It not addictive at all. It is being looked at because of it increase in new prescription and possible link to opioid addicts using it increase the high. So again how does my choice of one doctor prove this or better yet why is that even relevant? Never got the answer. So I apologize for any misunderstanding and begged her to fill the partial fill. She still refused and told me that she is going to transfer out all my prescription. I did scream at her to shove her compassion up her but ( not that language ) I was frustrated. I left telling her I'm going to transfer them out anyway. So I went to a different pharmacy and told them the same story. She said she would help and did not understand the issues from Walgreens. The pharmacist at this Walgreens tried again to prevent me from getting the prescription. Unbelievable!!! Thankfully they filled it because they dont understand she refusal. This is the worst I have ever been treated. I know I look like crap, taking care of someone 24hr a day is much hard then it initially sounds. But I never though that I came across as a strung out drug addict. Now my issue is she said she was going to transfer all my prescription out before I left the pharmacy, so where did she send them? Is she going to make it hard for me to get the full prescription on Friday that I need? I am going to have the same difficulty filling it at my new pharmacy? Unfortunately i won't know these answers until i start to refill the prescriptions. My guess is she is vindictive and will make it hard on me just so she can put me in my place one more time. read more
