My wife loves this place and has been a loyal patron for over seven years…read more She is very picky about her makeup and with a few Minot exceptions, used the Merle Norman line of products particularly the foundation. She gets coupons and uses them at the appropriate time. Last week we were out and had lunch at Metro Diner in Huntersville and I asked her if she needed to go to Merle Norman. She said no but would be needing Foundation and Some other items within the next couple of weeks. Today she suggested lunch at Maola's in Cornelius and that why we could also get Dog Food at Petco and she was not ready to make her Merle Norman run. In and out in a matter of minutes with her purchase in hand. A little background. My wife has used this store even before they moved into their current location. This was the closest location to us when we lived in Cornelius, but we moved to Denver NC little over two years ago. There are a lot of other Merle Norman locations closer to where we now live but she still prefers this store for its outstand service and selection. Not as big deal as you may think because we are in Cornelius several times a week so it just comes down to planning ahead. While she was shopping, I pulled it up on Yelp and no one had added it yet to the data base so I did when we got home. It's in a refurbished house for a section of Cornelius that dates back to the early 20 Century. Pay attention to the sign because it's easy to miss but it's on the South Side of Catawba Ave east of I-77. Parking is in the rear.

She smiled at me and kept stocking without bothering to ask if I needed help. I saw a guy helping another lady and decided to ask him a quick question. He was very informative and pleasant. I told him I would need more help when he was finished with her and he said he would be right over. After some time, I wandered over and saw him helping a different woman. I stood there for a bit but he didn't bother to address me and I didn't feel like dealing with it, so I put the product on the shelf and left. I would have given a 5 star rating last year at this time. The service was excellent then.
