They have an excellent selection. Their deli is probably my favorite department. They make the best sandwiches with their top quality Boar's Head meats and cheeses. The best thing is you can order and pay online and then run inside to pick up from their pick up bin! No contact and super quick if you are on a timed lunch break. Their produce has let me down a time or two but mostly it is a great selection and fresh. I come here to find specialty items that I can't find in the normal grocery stores. I was speechless at the total disregard for a customer's needs-- it was the principle; not the money but the fact a customer needed those items and they were unwilling to accept my business. I left without the items for my family & went up to Walmart. I will never Shop at Foodlion on 2100 N. Highway 16 Denver and I will not have anyone I know go there anymore. The grocery store is just okay somewhere half way between a convenience store and s real grocery, it has almost everything but certainly stays away from prestige or quantity brands. The hardware and farm store (in adjacent building) are surprisingly good with an amazing variety of items and are more helpful than their big block store competitors. What can you say about the gas station!? As for the propane, in the lot between the buildings, is the propane contraption. You park aside it which is convenient in that you really don't have to carry your tank more than a few feet. Then you walk into the hardware store where you pay for your refill. Then they call someone in the grocery store to come out whom you meet back at the refill station and then they fill your tank. And my dog loves to go with me on this chore cause she sticks her head out of the window to hear the odd sounds of the refill and smell the unusual smells. Additionally you save a few bucks compared to the more traditional exchange places.

This store is in serious need of help and better management. The manager that is over the Denver…read morelocation by the name of "Matt" whos real name is Thomas needs to learn how to staff the store as well as training them effectively. It's an absolutely disaster of a mess. I'm not sure how the work "family" atmosphere truly is but everytime I'm in it's never the employees. Yet each time I'm there I notice it seems that the employees look like they are trying to continuously fighting an up hill battle of short staff. I've spoke to a few of them as I shop there and more then one has expressed there fustration with training on the managers end. Guidelines are in place to help everyone and support is truly laking in this establishment and it starts with changing management. He has a team that wants to try but he can't even come out with a schedule 2 weeks ahead without making 5 changes along the way. I work but I also have life and I use my work schedule for the planning of my life - how does an employee plan their life outside of work without any steady average - I can't image how much extra work it takes to call people in last minute rather than just staffing adequately.

We've already bought the wine a couple of weeks ago at Total Wine in Huntersville but now in pursuit of some nice Christmas Wine Bags. These are normally readily available this time of year in Dollar Stores. There is one not too far from here but since we were going over to Lincolnton for Lunch at Italiano's , my wife pointed out that we were going to be going past a Dollar General and we could stop there. Neither of us had ever been to this particular store. We stopped in and it appears that Christmas Wine Gift Bags are not out yet but expected in after Halloween. They did have some other nice Christmas Shopping Bags however, so we picked up a couple of those. Store is very nice and well organized, and the store staff is very helpful. Since we are in Lincolnton a couple of times a year, we will definitely be back as it gets closer to Christmas.
