05/31/24 - This Walgreens sucks. My wife works in a hospital w/a pharmacy. Her coworkers told her Walgreens didn't charge as much for the meds in an effort to save a few bucks we changed to this location @ 5230 W Foster since it's right down the street from where we live. With the exception of the Vietnamese pharmacist this is the absolute worst Walgreens I have ever been to. I placed my order on the Live Well AP for 2 meds on 05/20/24. I went in to pick up my order after being told they were ready. So I went in and what a surprise they weren't there. When I arrived they told me they had to special order my one med so why did they tell me it was ready. The other med I paid $40 for 90 doses @ the hospital pharmacy. Walgreens wanted $324 for 30 doses. I DONT THINK SO. NO EFFIN WAY JOSE. This one blonde pharmacy assistant was getting very snotty & bitchy. NEVER AGAIN. I'm so done and out of this Walgreens. I called my doctor a few days ago to get me scripts sent back to the other pharmacy. The nurse told me they had lots of problems with/this pharmacy too. It took me 11 days to get a med that ran out on 05/20/24. Theres absolutely no excuse for this read more

2nd time in 4 weeks or so...ordered refill of prescription & recording tells me will be ready on X day at X time. Usually several days ahead. When I arrived at or after said time, told not ready for variety of reasons (Dr. did not respond, something wrong with prescription (not true) and today excuse was ' we are on break so cannot prepare it now, wait 30 minutes' this while I was there 10 hours after announced ready time...after working 11 hours today, I went home. Service has gone completely downhill at this pharmacy ever since Pharmacist Patel left. I am considering trying another pharmacy especially if I have continuing difficulty getting prescriptions in a timely manner. read more

Because the pharmacy staff is so short staffed (according to them) I should try CVS. They're "too busy" to locate out of stock meds and falsely stated they're computer system ONLY shows their store. Be careful of using the FEDEX On-site dropped off location. I dropped 3 packages of my Samsung Trade-in on this location and all of them were stolen. They stole the item inside the box and shipped the packages empty on my 2 packages and the 3rd one totally didn't even make it and lost. Cost me $1600 in trade-ins. I went back trying to ask them and speak to the manager and they were very very defensive and confronting, and blames the FEDEX driver who pick-up the packages. You have been warned! WORST PHARMACY THIS SIDE OF JEFFERSON PARK! If I could give 0 stars or a negative review I would. Pharmacy Technician staff is consistently incompetent, unavailable and focuses more on gossiping about patients rather than doing their jobs and filling orders. (HIPPA, anyone?) The phone line is infrequently available to reach someone when you call during the specified business hours. You usually have to play a game of phone tag 2-3 times before they can begin to comprehend what's needed for the order. Not to mention, this is by far the slowest pharmacy I've ever had the displeasure of being serviced by in all my years of using Walgreens as a pharmacy. What takes any other Walgreens with a efficient staff a day or two to fill your item, will take them at least a week so good luck if your doctor needs to resend an order or they need clarity. Thank God my medication totally isn't something that's critical to take daily and we definitely don't order ahead of time to try and handle their latency (NOT!) They insist they can fill by end of day and I can personally say they have never once met that guarantee in the 10 months I've been service by them. To add to that point, they seem to be unable to comprehend that medication does not all come in the same standard size of dosage. I had to wait almost 2 weeks after the order was placed for them to figure out that 20mg + 5mg equals 25mg which is what is prescribed and placed on the order. They genuinely asked me, "Do you need both? One was put back..". Are we sure they study the pharmaceutical industry or medication before getting the job? All I can say is, I am moving to an alternative pharmacy as soon as possible and if you can stay away, you'd be right in doing so. (HINT: There's an obvious reason they barely top 3 stars on yelp after all their years) TLDR: Staff lacks the ability to follow through on their due diligence as pharmacy technicians and consistently makes errors as well as guarantees that they cannot keep, ultimately leading to potential detrimental effects on your health. I recently switched pharmacies despite how convenient this location is to me due to the unbelievable lack of professionalism and blatant disregard for manners from the pharmacy staff. In my year+ maintaining it as my primary pharmacy, I cannot recall ever filling a monthly prescription without having issues. Not only did the staff consistently throw anyone and everyone else under the bus for their mistakes despite there being clear evidence that the mistake was on their end, but absolutely every time I called (with patience and manners, mind you), the staff was so rude, it was honestly shocking. Each time, I immediately felt like I was being screamed at and was always hung up on, usually mid-question. At one point, I had called back 4 times just to get a single question out. Each time, I did so with a kind and understanding tone, only to be met with bizarre hostility. I never write reviews unless they are positive. This will be the first negative review I have ever written, but I felt compelled to do so to save someone else from a lot of unnecessary stress in the future. I switched to CVS and boy was that the best choice I've ever made! They are so professional and efficient. If anyone is considering this pharmacy, I strongly suggest you choose CVS, or frankly any other pharmacy but this one. I have to assume they are very understaffed or mistreated to have new employees who start out kind and hardworking swiftly turn into the mold of their other employees. read more

Pharmacy staff are very pleasant, helpful, and really go the extra mile despite what seems to be a highly utilized pharmacy that can definitely get backed up at peak hours. Despite this and the occasional rude customer, I've found the employees at the pharmacy extremely helpful and understanding, whether I've needed early refills for travel, issues with my insurance or other problems that can bog down the process. I've found a lot of times my prescriptions might get held up with insurance, doctor, etc and the pharmacy has always delivered on helping me resolve any issues so that I get the medicines I need. Again, they seem to get a lot of high traffic and with that can come difficult customers but their commitment to excellence is so much appreciated!! read more

No matter how good this Walgreens is with their pharmacy, cleanliness, employee help, ect. I have to give this Walgreens a one. Today, while I was checking out, another employee came to the cashier to talk about another customer. She pointed out the customer and preceeded to say the customer looked like a tramp. She looked like an ape. The employee then continued to point out the customer to other employees near her and said the same thing. Disgusting. I will never return to this Walgreens. I like that this pharmacy is easy to get to, whether coming from Foster, Milwaukee, Central, Northwest Hwy, or highway. I also like that they have a nice size lot that's private, so it's easier to get in and get a spot than the other Walgreens I go to (Pulaski/Lawrence) I tried their pharmacy today by first calling in to have my prescription transferred. My call was answered promptly and I was greeted by someone pleasant. I got a text my Rx was ready 1/2 hour after the call. When I arrived, there was a line, so both the pharmacy technician and the pharmacist were helping customers. I got the pharmacist, and he was fast and friendly. The store itself is kept clean, the aisles are stocked... no complaints here! read more

I'm not really sure what Charlotte was smoking when her and her friends stopped to visit this Walgreens. Jefferson Park is actually a very decent part of Chicago. Like anywhere in Chicago you always see interesting people no matter how nice the area is or not. Lets not forget there is a Chicago Area Police Station right across the street. How firgin bad could the area be? I would take anything anyone said from the burbs with a grain of salt. As far as the face lift goes, I would disagree with that totally. It's in just fine shape. I live in Jefferson Park and have lived in the city since I was born. This is a great area to live in and the walgreens is near the blue line among other cool spots along Milwaukee Ave. This walgreens is always a clean and friendly. My doctors faxed over a couple of prescription to this Walgreens and I drove right there from my doctors office which was probably 20 minutes later. The tech said they just received it but it would only be 10 minutes. I told them I would wait in one the chairs by the pharmacy and she said she would call me over the intercom so if I wanted to go shopping I could. After waiting 30 minutes. I went up to the counter and she asked me my name. She went to the bin and pulled out my prescription. My prescription was ready but no one called me over the intercom. I'm wondering if I didn't go to the counter how long would I have had to wait. Went right home and immediately started taking the meds. Four and half hours later I received a text stating that my prescriptions were ready. Not only does this pharmacy know I picked it up but I already had 2 doses of the meds by the time they called me. There was five people behind this counter and I know Walgreens pharmacy is very very busy but they forgot rule number one which is customer service. They lost my business read more

I live this Walgreens. Right off the highway and down the street from my place. The pharmacy staff are always super helpful and friendly. I have been to this Walgreens twice in the last two weeks to get some pictures developed. I was very pleased with the photo specialist that helped me both times-Maria. She is very friendly, efficient, and thoughtful. I had some red eye in my photos and was having a hard time getting it out. She went through 100 of my pictures and helped me to remove the red eye. In my opinion, she is a good employee and went above and beyond to help me. I truly appreciate great service. read more

One of the cleanest and most organized Walgreens I've ever been to! I was at a baby shower nearby and needed to buy diapers to complete my gift, well I lost half an hour looking at everything! I wish my Walgreens was this nice. They even have a clearance section in the back that's well organized where you're not wasting time trying to figure out the price. read more

This is the best Walgreens I've gone too. I used to live a few blocks and this was my quick stop for everything, including pharmacy precriptions. Everytime I walked in I found exactly what I needed and the customer service is great, very friendly employees. I especially like going to this location for the pharmacy, the pharmacists are very knowledgeable. I can honestly say that I trust their knowledge and their opinions. I've moved a little further away recently and have tried other walgreens, however, I don't like the service and continue going back to this location! read more

While I don't have any amazing life-changing Walgreens shopping experiences to share, this store is consistently good in regards to the front registers and the pharmacy. They're quick to open a second register if more than a few people are in line, and the pharmacy staff has a good grasp of the alphabet (unlike the CVS at Lawrence/Central, where the letter "Q" was often filed under "O" and I basically had to find my medication myself). The woman working the pharmacy counter saw what items I was looking at and mentioned a sale and additional coupons. I made my selection and continued shopping. Later, she found me in another part of the store and game me 2 coupons I could use together for a discount on what I was buying. It was so friendly, helpful, and sweet. Amazing customer service.
