This Walgreen s pharmacy is a mess. There is never more than 1 cashier, the wait is normally 10 minutes to purchase your items, and the staff is quick but not staffed for the volume. Even worse, the advertise 24/7, but don't be fooled. They are not open 24 hours. The store overall is pretty dirty, considering it's a fairly newer store. Do not come here they hire one pharmacist and none of their other staff or techs have any idea what they are doing. They create nothing but more problems. If your insurance covers anything else go anywhere else where they actually train their staff. They will mess up new, refills, everything. They have no training on their computer system and have no idea how to fix their own mistakes. My insurance representative was on the phone for hours with them for hours because their computer said they had given me the medication when they had not and they had no idea what how to reverse it on their own system claiming the insurance had to fix it when that makes so sense making the insurance pay twice when they were the ones who had not given it to me in the first place. My insurance rep literally had to connect them with their own Walgreens customer service for their own computer. No one here should be licensed. read more

Honestly Everytime I pick up my prescription I wait in the drive thru line for 30-90 minutes. I'm not going to run in because of COVID and I live with someone with a preexisting condition. I'd like to say that the line is slow due to COVID, but honestly no. It's always like this since I first moved to Chicago 5 years ago. This is the most poorly run Walgreens I've ever been to. I live close by so I have to go once or twice a week and every single time all the workers are moving as slow as they possibly can and don't seem to care at all that a line is piling up outside the door. One day I went there TWICE and left my car in the parking lot for about 35 minutes. When I come back it's towed. I call them to ask them to explain it and that they should pay for the towing and the manager LAUGHED at me and hung up. Absolutely pathetic how poorly this store is run. If negative 10 stars was an option, I would give that rating. The pharmacy staff is entirely incompetent. We recently moved to the area and switched from CVS to this pharmacy. They overcharged me for my prescription and I shared my insurance card with them. They said they had it correct and that I was missing a prescription card. They said that if I came back without 10 days, they would adjust it. I came back and it turns out they had my insurance numbers incorrect, even though they said they "checked" it last time and they couldn't give me a refund. We ran into another similar problem with my husband. They said there was no match even though he shared his insurance card. Finally, they double checked for a third time an had keyed the numbers incorrectly again. Wasted over an hour with this nonsense. read more

Super disappointed with the service at this pharmacy location. I called this pharmacy an hour before going to ensure that they were able to fill my prescription because other locations were not able to due to not having medication in stock. I was told that yes we can fill it and it will be ready in 30 mins. I go to the location and try to pick it up and I am told they cannot fill it. When I ask why no one told me this on the phone just 1 hour ago I was told that I "need to make sure I am calling the store because we have a call center that just answers calls and they don't actually know". I know for a fact that I called the location BUT feel free to gaslight me, Walgreens. I had to pay for Ubers each way, miss an hour of work, and will STILL have to go back. Everyone that I pick up a prescription I have to budget at least an hour. I am not sure if this location is understaffed, or what the source of the problem is, but specifically with the pharmacy it's always a wait, or some kind of issue with inventory. Filthy store, lazy associates and a chaotic mess. Ordered photos online and while waiting for someone to help me I looked around at what a pigpen this store is. Associates leave stuff on the floor, the counters are dirty and cluttered. A cashier actually pulled a chair over to the cash register to sit down while checking customers out. Look, sometimes it is embarrassing to buy things. Like tampons, condoms, hemorrhoid cream, laxatives, not to mention all the embarrassing prescriptions that you might have to buy! So in your head you try and pump yourself up, "I am a grown up! Buying tampons is totally normal! Get over it! Plus this person is a stranger and they don't even care!" And then, "Well maybe it's not even for me- I'll tell them that I'm buying the hemorrhoid cream for my grandma or something!" WTF and then, "Why do I need to go through this inner monologue every time I have to buy some personal item?" Anyway so my point is that I just bought something in this category from this Walgreens. Waited on hold to speak with the overnight pharmacist for over 35 minutes eventually calling from three other phones simultaneously and the call still never got answered. They picked up and continued to put on the call on hold without anyone speaking on all three lines. Wound up calling another location. This isn't the first time I've had this issue at this location. The pharmacy is a joke here. Do not waste your time. Half the time the pharmacy drive thru is closed during hours they are supposed to be open. When you do so happen to be in line, at the drive thru, you want a good half hour to an hour for two cars ahead of you. It doesn't get any better inside either. Many are working behind the counter but only one person at the register. And half the time, my prescription isn't ready when it's supposed to be. Don't bother. read more

This Walgreens will always be five star to me because they helped me out when I was locked out of my apartment. The cashier had super limited data left and let me use her phone to send emails, find locksmiths, etc. She was so nice and accommodating. The drive thru pharmacy is 24 hours which is really convenient, but there never seems to be more than two people working and it always takes a long time. This review is for the pharmacy only and not the convenience store. In one word: incompetence. The pharmacy techs are hit or miss and many, not all, are completely lost. I dealt with a woman named Cheryl who was a perfectly nice person but had no clue what she was doing. I arrived at a scheduled time for my 3.5-year-old's third Covid vaccine of a three-shot Pfizer protocol. After waiting in line for 40 minutes, I explained why I was there to Cheryl and she had to go check with a lab tech and then told me that they "don't do Covid boosters." I explained that it wasn't a booster, it was the third shot of the protocol and she looked very confused and said "well we don't do third shots." Knowing she was wrong, I left and called the store and they confirmed Cheryl was mistaken so we returned to the store, waited in line for 40 minutes again, checked in again, and waited an hour for a shot. Cheryl's incompetence turned a 20-minute process into an entire evening. That said, there is only one fool here: me. Now I am learned and never again will I return to this armature hour of a pharmacy. The reason I posed this review is because when you have pharmacy employees who are untrained, uncaring, and/or unskilled, they're actually endangering the public's health. Scary stuff. read more

I have been going to this Walgreens for years. Avoid at all costs. The pharmacy wait times are completely unreasonable, I've never been able to pick up my prescription in less than 20 minutes. Usually it's either not ready, the price is completely wrong, or there is a wait because all the other people in line are dealing with similar issues. All other things considered equal for a chain store such as this, a lot rides on the staff to make it stand out. The back story: Me, sicker than a dog. Venturing out into the world only for a brief trip to Walgreens in search of something to numb my symptoms. The trip: Orange juice, check. Cranberry juice, check. Tissues, check. Cough drops, eye drops, and a cheesy celebrity mag to make me feel better about my life, check check check. All I needed was some actual cold medicine and I could be on my way! The incident: After much ado, I found the medicine I wanted, but discovered my prize to be locked behind a plastic case. There was a call button next to it that supposedly signaled a staff member, but the call box was clearly broken. I asked the pharmacist if she could help me by opening the case. I just wanted to get the meds and get back to bed as quickly as possible! The pharmacist got on the intercom and called someone to aisle 1, telling me to go wait by the cabinet. I walk back over there, but notice that the aisle is number 9, not 1....... Long story short, it took 4 staff members well over 20 minutes to unlock the damned cabinet just so I could read the label on the medicine and make sure it was what I needed. And if the cashier could have been anything other than what I would call "surly", I might have given them another shot. The Saving Grace: This place is clean and they really & truly have everything you need. Just make sure you can find it (and get to it!) yourself bc I wouldn't expect any help from the staff. read more

This location's pharmacy is still awful! Today, I dropped off a prescription around 3pm. When I dropped it off, I asked how long it would take if I waited in the store. I was told "20-25 min". Since I was in a lot of pain, I opted to go home and not wait around. So, I returned to the store about 2.5 hours later. Not only was my prescription not ready, it hadn't even been entered into the system yet!! Their excuse was, "we fill 4-500 prescriptions a day." Apparently, they don't do a very good job with all of those prescriptions, as I have had many problems with this location in the past. So many problems, that despite this Walgreen's being the closest drug store to my apt., I will go to any other pharmacy just to avoid it. This pharmacy is a joke. If you're sick, and need fast service, try the new CVS at Division and Ashland (also along the blue line). I've never waited more than 10 minutes there. read more

When I received an email notifying me it would be ready in 2 days, I called the store because I really wanted to pick it up that day so my daughter could bring it to school. Laquita said they were short staffed, but she would personally make sure it was done. She even called me to tell me the first version I ordered had some heads cut off so I could make another one. She went above and beyond for me (and my daughter), and we really appreciate it! read more

Offensive. That is the one word I would use to describe this Walgreens, offensive on so many different levels. It's not hard for a store like this to receive 5 stars from me, they just have to meet a few standards and bam... 5 Star raving review, however this SPECIFIC Walgreens fails on so many incidents. Firstly, if there is a "homeless" woman outside your store (And I use the term homeless VERY lightly, i'd love to know how she gets money CONSTANTLY for new weaves) who is always bothering your customers and aggressively approaching them, begging for change the second the step through the door... What do you do? You ask the woman to leave! Better yet, if more than one customer complains about her... What do you do? You ask her to leave! It seems as if she is the one managing the store, from outside.. Seriously, how many complaints does it take to get this woman to back off. Any way, moving on. So that's a minor issue in comparison to having to wait 10-15 minutes JUST to get a bus pass. I told a worker there I needed to get a bus pass, and in turn he tells me he would find someone to get that for me (Mind you I could literally see the bus passes in the photo department in an index card holder, locked behind a clear sheet of glass). I wait, and I wait, and I wait and STILL no bus pass so I eventually have to go and find another employee who IMMEDIATELY got me the bus pass that I had been waiting for for over 15 minutes. ... Ok, so I know that everyone misses the old White Castle, but I've got to say that the Walgreens that replaced it is pretty nice. It's big and bright with a wide selection of products. The employees are really nice, even at 2 in the morning. This is much better than a lot of other Walgreens in the city, and if you speak more Spanish than English, all the major signs are written in both languages. This is a 24-hour Walgreens pharmacy, which is the main reason I reviewed it. I know how hard it can be to get off work late and have to fill a prescription and not be able to. How have I not written a review about this Walgreens? This one is our go-to local one where if something's needed in a pinch, I'll stop by after work or during nap time. It's small, bright, and clean with decent staff. My biggest issue with this Walgreens is the pharmacy. When my son was sick and needing antibiotics, we divided and conquered. My husband got him down for a nap while I picked up the script. On a Saturday, the pharmacy was packed and understaffed. Two inefficient and inexperienced employees dealt with customers. What I thought was going to be a 20 minute trip tops turned into almost an hour and a half of waiting for some liquid antibiotics. They seriously need to improve their weekend pharmacy staff. I've never waited that long for a script ever. I get that it was a busy Saturday, but the pharmacy was by far the worst in managing the crush of people. I considered myself lucky to get the script at all at the rate they were going. This Walgreens is best when you're just grabbing and going. Pick up scripts on weekdays not weekends. It's not worth the wait at all for such awful service and waste of time. read more

Not to mention the drive-thru is closed. This is completely unacceptable. Even though today is by far the worst, they constantly have issues every time I come here.
