Service has improved considerably. They are overworked and understaffed but manage to be friendly and helpful.

Slow, needs more hiring and lack of inventory, always empty in drinks and takes forever for new items to be replenished.

I had an appointment for a vaccine and showed up the requested 15 minutes early, I had to wait around 45 minutes and remind them about my appointment to actually get the shot. They don't seem to really know what they're doing because the lady at the counter apologized about the wait and admitted they "got lost". I'm not sure what that means but overall the entire appointment took 1 hour (5-6pm) so I would not recommend coming to this location. They are very disorganized. read more

Horrible! Horrible! Service has gone down ever since it was bought out by Walgreens as it used to be Rite-Aide. Rite-Aide had EXCELLENT service. I feel bad for the employees as they are overworked and at times the pharmacy is just simply closed due to lack of employees. This is corporate greed at its max! read more

Since the takeover of this former CVS pharmacy by Walgreens I have repeatedly been unable to obtain timely refills of a legitimate and important prescription for a controlled medication, despite my contacting the prescriber monthly and arranging to have a prescription forwarded 5-7 days in advance. For years CVS was able to provide me with monthly refills without ANY intervention on my part. Since the Walgreens takeover, there has been considerable pharmacist turnover, and none of them has been able to suggest any way to resolve this. Among other snafus, they frequently "have to order it", resulting in a 3-5 day delay, despite the fact that I have purchased it monthly from this store for over a decade. This makes no sense to me, and is deeply frustrating. I have also experienced mix-ups and unexplained delays on other medications, though not as frequently. The degree of (apparent) disorganization and a clear error in refilling one of my other prescriptions led me to lose confidence in this Walgreens' interest in providing what I need and pay for. I do not recommend this pharmacy, particularly for any controlled medication. I am taking my business elsewhere, and I STRONGLY suggest that others do as well. read more

Terrible pharmacy they do not care one bit. Absolutely horrid service do not waste your time here. Went in for a Covid PCR. They told me it was not covered (which is is supposed to be) and refused to help me further, when I know for a fact that the pharmacy has a direct line to insurance companies for time sensitive issues like this, and they could have easily called. There was no line what so ever. Horrible horrible service. read more

terrible service in pharmacy. they never answer their phones. They don't have the order ready when you use the automatic phone in. They are rude and defensive. What a joke in contrast to their nostalgic tv ads that show pharmacists going out of their way to help customers. I switched to Optum, no problems so far! read more

Don't bother doing an online order at store 19487 Cambridge MA. The advertised online order ready in a little as 30 min is a joke! I didn't expect a 30 min turn around but I didn't expect the worker to be leaning his entire body on the counter. As I approach him, I said I'd like to check status of my order, he asked mewas in town for a graduation and 2 blocks away from store and could have walked to store and pulled my own items quicker but silly of me to think a paid n employee who is familiar with where items are located would be quicker! It would be different had he started or had the other person stocking items would have just started my order! After picking up my items and missing my Uber with my family, I heard him telling another customer who stated she got a email a day ago that her order was ready to come back at 1pm, which was an hour and a half later because he couldn't find it! If you do an online order prepare to be inconvenienced. Of course the tall dark hair white male didn't have on a name tag but my transaction # was 9402 & an online order cancelled by the store on Sunday 5/5 around 11:15 am. Walgreens do better! read more

Walgreens is a perfect example of how huge corporations that monopolize industries cheapen customer options. I had a great RiteAid in my neighborhood with lots of cleaning and household supplies. Now that RiteAid was bought out by Walgreens, it's devolved into a junk food store (aisles and aisles of stuff you shouldn't really consume) with only one aisle of cleaning supplies that has mostly empty shelves. I recently went in there to buy milk in a pinch, to find there were only a few bottles of whole milk in a tiny section of a long wall of refrigerated sugar drinks and frozen pizzas. I don't know why I bother even trying to shop for anything worthwhile, it's useless going in there. It's clear that potato chips and coke are bigger money makers for this greedy company. read more

This store is horrible! Rude/non-existent service most of the time. Typically short on counter staff -- even before COVID. Tonight's cashier was extremely rude and dismissive. I actually think that the pharmacy here is pretty good and it can definitely depend on who is running the show when you go in. read more

Went in for a covid test, paid $130 dollars for the covid test and the result was inconclusive. I called the lab and they said that it was inconclusive because the swap was not in the tube sample. The pharmacist at this location told me to take the swap out of the tube, directing me incorrectly. I was never able to get my money back for the inconclusive test, and I was directed incorrectly on how to self administer it from the pharmacist at this walgreens. read more

Awful. My wife and made an appointment for the new bivalent COVID booster this week for Thursday. We got two reminder notices, drove over and showed up at 10 am, the appointed time. The pharmacy was shuttered. I asked the manager, who shrugged and said that they didn't have enough staff to open the pharmacy that day. I feel badly for the people in the neighborhood who need regular access to a pharmacy for life-saving medicines. read more

I'm having a heck of a time getting a photo board printed at Walgreens. I first ordered from my local store only to be called saying their machine is broken. They told me they could transfer the order to the Somerville location and when I went there the next day a blonde woman didn't see any order. A manager type guy stepped in and was kind explaining to me that their store never received an order (hence the second star). It turned out that my local store wrongfully informed me it could be transferred- so I put in a new order to the Somerville location. I went today to pick it up and a brunette girl told me their machine ran out of ink (ugh!). She also told me I must have listed my number wrong because she tried calling me twice. I said that was weird since the other store had the same number listed and they were able to contact me with it (so NOT my error as she inferred.) then her attitude started as I had to further inquire about what to do next to make sure I could get this done in time for my event- which was not appreciated. She walked away to take other customers at the register and shrugged me off, saying I had to call any store I wanted to try and print it first to make sure their big printer was in working order. That should not be my job as a customer to assume that every Walgreens has printed issues and have to take the extra step to do. That girl needs training in customer service and Walgreens needs to get their stuff in order. read more

My father and I took a COVID test here on Sunday morning needing results for an event Wednesday night. Wednesday evening rolls around and we hadn't heard anything, so I called the store. Even though they promised overnight shipping of the tests to the lab, I was told on the phone that the tests weren't even SENT to the lab until TUESDAY! Meaning that the lab couldn't get to the lab until Wednesday. My father got his result very late Wednesday night and I didn't get mine until Thursday morning, meaning we both had to miss our event entirely and were out several hundred dollars. Had this been a normal delay due to processing, shipping, etc, I can understand that, but they took 2 days to even ship the tests and instead of us getting them well in advance, we were left in the dark and it cost us big time. Avoid this walgreens at all costs. They don't know what they're doing. read more

I normally never write negative reviews for businesses but I would be doing an injustice if I didn't this time. This pharmacy is absolutely horrible- my prescriptions are delayed every month, to the point where I plan to go into the store two times a month, knowing the first time they will tell me it's delayed and will be ready in a few days. This time, I have been in and called every day for the past week and my prescription still isn't ready for pick-up. At first, they told me it was my fault and my doctor needed to do xyz. He did and then there was another issue and my doc had to send in a whole new order. THEN I call back today wondering why it is still delayed and they tell me they don't have any in stock and have sent out an order and don't know when they will be getting it in stock. So basically, I'm SOL and made me & my doc jump through hoops to end up in the same position I was in last week without my meds. Absolutely appalled. Will never be using this pharmacy again!! read more

Store seems to be well maintained. !!!!!!HOWEVER, BRIAN!!!!! from management, I think, but I have no clue how he got that position, he has no clue what the words customer service represents. I went in to make a return 2-3 times and he refused each and every time. Sighting he doesn't feel comfortable. WELL BRIAN, your comfort has nothing to do with completing a return. Your excuses were ridiculous. Dressed as a manger but has no clue how to be one how to speak to people or how to look another man in the eye. It seems you can make purchases here but cannot return items. Being the only Walgreens in the area and him being the only individual refusing this service that is Walgreens policy. He offers no solution I asked to speak to a Mangaer I knew for a fact was there because I was told by another associate that she was Vanessa, namely. There are no posted signs that state returns cannot be made at this time he just REFUSES TO DO OR ALLOW IT. It is also clear he has directed his associates to contact him when they need to refuse a return. I purposely made a purchase that visit to return an item to put his excuse to the test. He had no issue touching the items throughout the store however when I made the purchase and had to return it as it wasn't the correct item he refused to allow the return. Bought in that store on that 5 min spans of time. So I cannot make a purchase realizing it was the wrong item and return it without even leaving. He was extremely rude as he stated "I told you before I don't feel like allowing it I'm not comfortable" nowhere in the store does it state returns are not being allowed. This is the only Walgreens I have had this issue at. In fact he is the only one that refuses to do so. BRIAN if you don't want to be in customer service don't know how to talk to people and don't want to do simple tasks that is a part of your job DONT DO THE JOB. Especially if your going to be rude speak down to people as if they have Alzheimer's or dementia. He would not look me in the eye speak to me as a person adhere to Walgreens policy or offer any sort of solution to rectify the issues. This associate seriously needs to be trained on customer service I have never had anyone show me their back roll their eyes or speak down to me as they walk away and get away with it as a man. I asked to speak to Vanessa I know she was there and he and a shorter man of Indian descent both lied to my face. I also watched him pull inventory off a shelf and tell an associate he was going to consume i lt in the Back room that he would just put it in the return to Starbucks bender cart as accidental loss or something to that effect. That there were a whole cart of the item itself that had to go back. He also stated he had seen an Iced Tea (Peach Flavor I believe) the organic crap that comes in a plastic bottle that was an out of date item in the cooler earlier and left it there for someone to possibly purchase his entire shift it was there. That's deplorable. As he discussed it with another associate I made comment and as I walked into the next aisle he spoke ill of me to another associate in front of another customer as well. IF HE DOESNT LIKE HIS JOB OR WANT TO DO IT "PROPERLY" he should be in another industry customer service and abiding by policy is clearly not his strong suit I have no clue how he is a manager AT ALL he can't even manage to wash his greezy nasty hair. It was the worst experience I have ever had in any customer service situation and I have been in retail and customer service industries for over 20 years!!!! FIX THIS GUY QUICKLY OR YOU WILL BE LOSING WAY MORE CUSTOMERS! ON A POSITIVE NOTe tho his block down and front facing seems to be his only strong suit. WHICH IS BEYOND PATHETIC and has to be the biggest joke. read more
