To say this store is disorganized is a major understatement. They may seem under staffed, but the employees who were working that day were off doing who knows what. My wife and I walk in to do a Passport photo. There appears to be only one male worker in the front, but he has a few customers looking to check out at the front. He uses the overhead speaker system to request assistance in Photo. He helps a few customers, while we wait in photo, and then he makes a second announcement when he can't step away from the register. No one responded to either request for assistance. He finally has time and proceeds to help us. Photo is taken, first kiosk he uses to edit the photo stops working and he has to move to new kiosk. He has trouble loading SD card onto second kiosk and then he can't find the photo. I found it for him. He edits the photo and then sends it to the printer. As he tries to print the label for the order, he is locked out and needs a password reset. So he calls for a female (likely Manager) to assist over the radio (CB radio). She doesn't come to the Photo center. We wait 2 minutes and he radios her again, still she doesn't respond. Another female employee in a plan shirt (no Walgreen logo shirt) and she offers to assist but then states she is locked out and needs a password reset. At this point a Passport photo has taken over 15+ minutes which includes waiting time. A male employee, who seems fairly tech savvy, enters the photo center and he is able to login and check us out. This store is one of the worse I have seen. I understand there are staff shortages, but when an employee asks for assistance 4 times, and no one responds, that is either their own refusal to assist, or they were busy doing something that they couldn't stop by policy (unlikely). I looked at the rear mirror that helps you see the backside of the store and I couldn't locate another employee anywhere so they must have been in off the main floor. To top this entire experience off, the passport photo take is borderline non-compliant, but we will only find out if the Passport agency notifies us it cannot be accepted. So we spent 15 minutes to get a passport photo and my wife's Passport application could be rejected simply because of a poor passport photo we paid $17 for. read more

Who do I contact with a complaint about Walgreens Pharmacy in Augusta? I called them on Tuesday to have a prescription transferred and they said it would be available on Wednesday for pickup. My husband has stopped in every day and they keep telling him come back the next day. Bad enough they had me on hold for 25 minutes when I called, but they told me they had it in stock when I called on Tuesday. Liars. Now they are saying come back Monday. This was a total waste of time. I wouldn't use this pharmacy again if it was the last one left. read more

Grumble grumble... I managed to drop my sunglasses some time this morning and got a big scratch on them. As I was passing through Augusta, this Walgreens crept into my vision and so I stopped in for a replacement. The store is the usual set up with personal care, greeting cards, drinks and snacks, cosmetics, over-the-counter medications and a full-service pharmacy. Sunglasses are on an end cap of one of the aisles with a reasonable selection and priced as low as $10 and higher than $20. I found a decent pair for $15 and paid for them at the front. I got an email from Walgreens Pharmacy saying my insurance wouldn't cover my prescription. This apparently was sent by the person at the store counter. He offered to sell me 5 days worth of my medication over the counter. I called my insurer and was told "Oh, Yes we get a lot of calls about Walgreens", rest assured you're covered. This wasn't the first time this happened to me and in asking around I found that quite a few of my friends and family have had the same experience. I switched to CVS. Online orders: not user friendly, I attempted to place an order. I've been using coupons for 20 years. Im also savvy w the laptop! It took me 3 hours and then the products were at multiple stores, not a time saver, not convenient @all. Had to call online help line- another 25 minutes. This needs lots of work for it to be lucrative for any person. Some of the items were not sold at that store.... so not available if it's part of a deal your trying to get w the Walgreens cash back- way to much work. I won't use it again - I can not see an older person using this as it's too advanced for any older person to navigate. My local pharmacy that I had used was bought out by Walgreens. Within days all the staff left. Their service is terrible! They take days to fill prescriptions now and the staff is always rushed and makes mistakes. Everyone I know is complaining about them. As a corporation I hope they go out of business! read more

How do I enter a zero? After seeing 18 packs of beer in the back, they don't want to sell me one. They say that anything in the back is always put to the shelves. This is at least the the third time I have asked because the shelves are not stocked. Previous times they just went and got it for me. Then I grabbed a 12 pack and they would not sell that to me because I had no Id with me (l'm 57). I couldn't talk them into looking up my id by phone number which would have shown me as a member for many years. Please just cancel my Walgreens card and send me any money on it. I was traveling through Maine and prescription medication was recalled by the FDA. My doctor somehow called the wrong pharmacy to refill it (instead of Maine she called a pharmacy in Connecticut). When I reached out to the Walgreen's in Augusta, the pharmacy staff went the extra distance-- they didn't leave it up to me or my doctor. Instead, they independently offered to reach out to the pharmacy in Connecticut (which was from a rival corporate entity) to get the prescription transferred on my behalf! Walgreens has recently taken over RiteAid. Bad decision!! Both Walgreens in Augusta are terrible!!! They've made dosage mistakes on about 23 out of 24 prescriptions. Then trying to have them fixed, they charge for a new script!! The new staff in the pharmacies are rude, incompetent. Unable to reach anyone by phone either. They have this new recorded system. It tells you you're the next caller in line, and after 40 minutes on hold, no one picks up. Also, with every prescription they send out a text saying "insurance will not cover," when in fact it's always been covered. I called my insurance company and they say that they have had many calls about Walgreens doing the same to many others. This is all unacceptable!!! Bring back RiteAid. I'm taking my business elsewhere, CVS. It's about a mile away versus a 5 minute walk, but it'll be worth it. Please take note!!!! read more

Walgreens in Augusta has the worst service ever! They say call ahead, but No one answers the phone for at least 45 minutes. They tell you come on in its all set for you to get there and be told when you do that your the next person and it'll be 30-45 min. The fuck?! My time is just as valuable as anyone in corporate, when they lose money maybe they will give their staff the support they need. I used to go to this store diligently, nearly once a day, and always minded my own business. Store employees are not of the same mind. Ever heard the saying "Character is what you do when no one else is looking"? Well, I had my prescription at this store, and besides my daily shopping, you'd think, I'd be a customer they would want to keep, and therefore treat with a modicum of respect. I would be satisfied to just be ignored and let me get what I need. Instead, this pharmacist and his sidekick at the time would laugh in my face. I was the butt of their immature jokes. Really professional. When he's not hiding that behavior, he tries to come across as wholesome. While that was happening at the cash register, I was having a conversation with the store clerk about "his behavior", and she acknowledged it by saying "Oh, you mean "that"." I moved my prescription to Walmart, and have only walked in once or twice since for things I urgently needed. I'd rather die than give them a penny of my money. read more
