Yesterday my doctors office transferred my script to this store. I called and verified twice they had the script and had enough to fill it. My doctor told me to do that since it's almost Christmas and they won't be back until the following Tuesday. I was told it would be ready by 3:00 pm, so we went at 4:30. We got there and they said it has to be reviewed by the pharmacist. I said you had the script for 6 hours and it still isn't done after i was told it would be ready by 3:00 pm. Then they said we so t have enough so we won't fill it at all. What! So your saying to a person who just had a complete hip replacement that you won't fill a script, but at first you said it has to be reviewed by the pharmacist. I got home and called and not once or twice but 6 times i called back to back to back and no one would even call another pharmacy to see if they had it in stock. They kept saying I'll transfer you yo that pharmacy. Well what's the number I'm calling if I'm not calling THAT SAID PHARMACY. The last time i called i was yet again told I'll give you the pharmacist voicemail and by LAW THEY ARE REQUIRED TO CALL YIU BACK IN A HALF AN HOUR. Nope, didn't happen. It's now 12:55 pm Christmas Eve and yet again I'm Told I should go to the store. I said I did yesterday and yet again today I'm getting the run around. I have been on hold waiting for someone to pick up for 13 minutes. I have NEVER had an issue with Walgreens filling a script before in my life. If I had the choice I would have told my doctors office to send it yo the one I use to go to in South Anchorage. At least my daughter said she would go and pick it up for me i have been in so much pain that I'm crying all day. I have records of how long I've waited on each call and the number amounts of times I called as well. I will be contacting the State of Alaska Business office Walgreens Corporate Office (probably won't get any where with them as well) and anyone else I can. No pharmacy is above the law no matter what. You are here to provide a service and with the amount of reviews just on this pharmacy Im wondering why this store hasn't been closed down. So my Doctors office sent it to you. Shirt version he tells me and i quote; I have a regular customer i have to fill his first so when I get to yours I won't have enough. I said so his will get filled before mine even though you had mine since yesterday you will fill his he said YUP. I asked can I get something "NOPE CANG HELP YOU!" I said i just had a hip replacement he cuts me off and says NOPE CANT HELP YOU. I asked can you check with the one in 88th he goes yet again NOPE. I asked why he says it's electronic and we can't do that. I'm balling on the phone and i asked i said Sir I just had a hip replacement and I'm in pain he says NOPE CANT HELP YOU! At that point i yelled at him and said FU! And i Hung up. So it's Christmas Eve and i have nothing for my pain nothing. This is why I called and verified they had the script and they had enough. And like I said above I was told they did. But no Now they have to fill his first before mine since he's a regular and they won't have enough if they do that. It had been called in by my physician however it was routed to their off-site fulfillment center therefore she couldn't see it. I am of the age to remember what an exceptional service a good drug store can be. When Walgreens started popping up practically on every corner in town, I must admit, I got pretty excited. I mean, who doesn't love a good drug store? And not just for the pharmacy, but also the selection from your favorite aspirin to a quality tube of lipstick at an affordable price. And hey, Walgreens even has food selections, dry goods to frozen. Alas...every time, and I do mean every time. Every single time I have walked into a Walgreens, this particular one on Debarr Road for example, I walk out empty handed and bummed out. I'm telling you, if it weren't for their decent selection of greeting cards, I would ghost this place for good. First impression upon walking in: Dirty floors. Empty shelves. Employees with glum expressions, who behave as if they couldn't care less. About anything. And never mind the customer. What kind of people own these stores anyway? I have to laugh because their locations very often are across the street from a Fred Meyer. Like are they thinking that Walgreens could be competition? Well, considering the long slow slide Fred Meyer has been on lately, perhaps so. Yet, I still think not. I honestly cannot for the life of me, understand why Walgreens is here at all. read more

It's been over 2 years since I gave anywhere a 1 star review. This Walgreens was terrible all around. It's filthy dirty, awful employees, and not well stocked. It's in a convenient location which makes it all the more disappointing. I went to get passport photos taken and pick up an online order. I stood at the Photo Center for about 15 minutes and another customer was also waiting behind me. A female employee slowly meandered behind the counter and made no eye contact. I walked to her register and told her I needed photos, and she said to get in the cashier line at the front of the store. I told her I also had a pickup order (you pick these up at the Photo Center), and she said "Get one of the other girls to help you at the front"... No explanation, no justification or apology and certainly no customer service. Confused, I and the other customer went and got in line for the front register. Once I got through that line, I explained I needed passport photos and an online order pickup. The cashier told me to go to the Photo Center and the lady over there can help me. I felt like a ping pong ball to them. I told her I was sent up front, and she rolled her eyes and walked me back to the Photo Center. She got a camera and took my passport photos, and when I went to pay I asked how long it would take to print because I needed them same day. She said the photo printer was broken and there were many orders ahead of mine so she didn't know how many days it would be and that I'd get a text to come pick them up. Would've been great info to know the printer was down BEFORE we took the pictures. I had to cancel them and go to another store. Part of my online order wasn't filled either, so I had to go to another store for that. It was an utter waste of time, and I will not be back anytime soon. read more

This pharmacy is the reason I no longer fill prescriptions at Walgreen's. The line takes forever whether you're driving through or in the store, even if they have three pharmacists working. Then once you spend half an hour waiting in line up get to spend at least another hour waiting for them to fill your prescription. The customer service isn't terrible, but it's pretty frustrating when you get a prescription discount card from your doctor and try to use it at the pharmacy only for the pharmacist to not even bother to look up prescription prices because you already have insurance. I took my prescriptions and discount card to Carrs and the discount card actually did help me save some money, even with health insurance. But Walgreen's won't even bother looking up prices for you because apparently they want to get away with charging as much as they can. As for the retail, you're better off going across the street to Fred Meyer than buying anything here. Fred Meyer has a much bigger selection and better prices for almost everything. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the pharmacies inside one of the grocery stores around town instead. read more

Terrible pharmacy, The two employees I talked to today trying to sort out a couple prescriptions for a family member were absolutely monotone, like talking to a robot, very obviously don't care. They could not explain why a prescription dropped off 10 days ago still has not been filled. I would not recommend, and I won't use them again. read more

Extremely rude store manager by the name of Taylor (Male). Not sure where in the training manual does it say that it's okay to yell at people who are in your store that are unaware of your store policies. This man tried to put on a very threatening demeanor all the while throwing threats out about denial of service. If you can avoid this store, there is a Fred Meyers across the street. read more

This is literally the shittiest Walgreens I've ever been to. The wait times at the pharmacy are absurd. There have been times that I've come and the pharmacists/techs/whoever they are, are in the back chatting and get snippy when they have to break up their conversations to assist you. They always seem to have at least 3 people back there but only one seems to have the ability to assist with the drive through and the counter. Whether this is scheduling problems or just general shitty staff, they need to get their shit together. Definitely would get less than a star if possible. Negative stars even. read more

The worst pharmacy. They've had terrible reviews for some time. Apparently Walgreens doesn't read them because they have done nothing to change their customer service. Drop of prescription at 1:47 pm, told it would take 2 hrs. No text (tho I am signed up for text alerts), called & called & called. Robo only said in process & left me on hold many times. No one ever picked up. This was a med I needed to start that same day. Same thing next day. Will new gave to go to the site even though I should not be going out. They need to get their store under control. Customer service sucks, and there's never anyone up front old enough to sell cigarettes. Steve is the most unprofessional, rude power hungry jerk. I sent a friend to get testing strips why I was out of town and to have him mail them to me. He started talking about my history of having narcotics prescribed to me. Which is prescribed to me by my pain doctor, I have several chronic conditions. which is not the same as my diabetes care, professional. He refused to fill my prescription for testing strips and give them to my friend, even though it had nothing to do with my pain medicine and he would not get off the topic I kept saying forget about the narcotics. What about the testing strips, he says, not until he talks to my doctor, he really put my friend out because they were ready and my friend waited in line to pick them up. He has done this before with several people. I've watched him bring an 80-year-old lady to tears. I'm not sure what his problem is whether he's power-hungry or whether he treats all people who have a history of narcotics being prescribed to them like dirt. I have never met a medical professional, so rude and so ridiculous in my entire life. He was talking about having to contact my doctors that have not prescribed my testing strips , my other doctors and he makes the decision. Wanting to talk to my doctors who do not manage my diabetes . Then he refused to give me his full name! The pharmacist ! I'm sure it's on a big sign in the store so why refuse over the phone? I called the store three times and was put on hold for more than an hour and then I called him 10 minutes before closing and he does not have the time to discuss it with me. I've never called a care provider A name before in 55 years but he is a.D"$k ! You are not GOD ! You are just Steve a pharmacist that does not have good customer care and afraid to give his full name. I will call corporate I will do what ever I can to make him understand that a test strip to check your blood sugar is not a narcotic and you should know that already !!!! The guy who was helping me at first couldn't figure out the info on my insurance card, and gave me little to no instruction on what information he needed that he couldn't find before telling me to get back in line when I had the info. After dialing the customer service number on the card, they gave me a number to have the pharmacist call. I got back in line and ended up getting another guy to help. He seemed to be slightly more knowledgeable, but told me they were going on lunch break and they'd reopen in 30 minutes and he'd give the number a call (understandable.) I went home because I had to, but I called about an hour later, and was told my prescription would be ready in another hour. When I asked if they had figured out the insurance info, I was told I was being transferred to a person who could help me find out, but I was immediately disconnected and hung up on once they tried to transfer me. I waited, and about another hour later I received an automated call saying my prescription was ready, but the price they gave was as if they didn't include my insurance, so I gave them another call just to be told I was being transferred again, just to be hung up on again. I decided to just show back up since I wasn't having much luck getting info over the phone. So I write this review from the line behind 10 people, line hasn't moved since I've been here. The drive thru is also packed. I am hoping that I am out of here in the next 45-1hr. read more

The pharmacy here is absolutely unacceptable. Not only did they mess up my roommate's controlled meds (opiates for chronic pain) TWICE, but they got sh*tty with her over it as well. Also, it shouldn't take 90 minutes to fill a non-controlled script that was called in two hours prior, especially when it's completely slow. Just saying. Well now, they said they were coming but I didn't believe them, and low and behold....Walgreens is here. I strolled through the store and was very surprised at their prices and their products. I has fully expected a cut down version of the store, but they keep a very ample and full stock of products. I know you all must think I am nuts for writing a review about them, but competition is so important up here in order to keep the prices for us working men and women down! Walgreens has certainly filled a gap, and forced other stores to lower prices. Their Pharmacy personnel are extremely courteous and helpful too! Pharmacy. I was forced to go here by Envision. I have had so many problems switching my prescriptions from Fred Meyer Pharmacy to Walgreen Pharmacy. Went 5 times to pick up one prescription. On the 4th trip, I was told the prescription had not been approved. I went home and saw it on my Walgreen's prescription online account. Some people do not want to look up the generic name for a prescription and just say it is not approved. ? They are friendly, but very slow, and not good at automatic refills, even though I requested it on all of them. I miss Fred Meyer Pharmacy across the street. read more
