It would be great if you could call the pharmacy and reach a pharmacist or at the very least someone working at the pharmacy but what you get is a call center that can't help with anything. If they have any issues with your prescription they just cancel it instead of calling to let you know. They also ship "maintenance meds" from a central warehouse which takes 4 business days which means if you don't call in your medications a week early it will likely be late. Most insurance companies won't even allow you to refill a 30 day medication a week early. Pretty much everything about the way this company does business is downright awful. Find any other pharmacy or use Walgreens in an absolute emergency if you must. read more

Professionalism and courtesy. I talked to a pharmacist today who had me so upset that, when I got off the phone, my hands were shaking, and my husband, who heard most of the conversation, tried to comfort me. I simply called this afternoon at 5:00 to ask if they could get my medication, which was due to be refilled tomorrow, prepared so that I could pick it up going through the drive-thru tomorrow morning because my husband and I have several appointments tomorrow, and I'd like to pick it up on the way out of town. The pharmacist was incredibly rude to me and just kept saying, "I won't do that!" and "If I do it for one, I'd have to do it for everyone!" and "There's just not time!" I couldn't imagine what the big deal was--to refill one prescription before the next day when they had 4 hours before closing time! He just kept yelling at me, and truly, I thought I was talking to an inexperienced high school kid. I finally asked, "Is this the pharmacist"' and he replied, "Yes," to my shock. I just tried to explain that I wanted to pick up my medication the next morning on my way through Alexandria and that I already had one medication there waiting for me, but he kept yelling at me, "I don't care! I won't do it! You can call back tomorrow!" He kept making me feel like I was asking him to do something wrong--"I won't do it!" So, then I asked if it was because it's a refill on a controlled medication, and he absolutely would not give me an answer! I thought maybe he couldn't get that prepared early, but he wouldn't TELL me this! He just kept saying, "I won't do it, and I won't keep going around and around with you about this!" He was literally yelling at me, when all I wanted was for him to answer my question. My husband was looking at me with concern at this point, and I was shaking and on the verge of tears with confusion and anger. I didn't want to pick up the prescription early; I just wanted it ready for me the following morning. But this man treated me with such unkindness, impatience, and true unprofessionalism that, after the call, my husband was urging me to change pharmacies. But, not every experience is like this one. This particular extraordinary experience occurred around 5:00 on June 9, 2026. If I'm ever treated that badly there again, I will leave, even if another pharmacy is less convenient. When you become older, convenience becomes important, but not at the sacrifice of courtesy, graciousness, and good manners. I still value these qualities. read more

Slowest pharmacy in the tri-state I used to work at a pharmacy back in the day and I can tell you that we never tell customers if they call in and say hey do you have this prescription? Tell them that it's gonna be 45 minutes it literally takes one to two minutes to get something through and if you call and need something, we're gonna go ahead and push it through. If coming here for the pharmacy, I would recommend driving 10 minutes down the road and going to the one in Highland Heights. Supperrrrrrr slow here. If you have an appointment for a vaccine, be prepared to wait at least 20 min to be seen. read more

Our prescriptions were transferred from Alexandria Drug Store after they closed. I am not happy with Walgreens. I stood at the pickup window for ten minutes, watching half a dozen people moving around and just walking past me. Finally I asked out loud if I should leave, then someone finally acknowledged me. This Walgreens is pretty good as far as getting flu shots, (I just got one myself, as a matter of fact). The pharmacist was a very lovely lady pharmacist. I got the shot in a very quick and efficient manner and the pharmacist was super nice as she gave me the flu shot. I've been here before for a flu shot (last year, as a matter of fact) and it was a pleasant experience then too. I highly recommend getting the flu shot here, because they will even transmit the information to your doctor for you too! That is really convenient! read more

Really rude when you call in or even when you are physically at the pharmacy. iconstantly placed on hold without even answering the call for over 25 minutes. I couldn't refill the medication without speaking with the pharmacy staff. This is very unprofessional and ridiculous behavior. I have had several poor experiences with this pharmacy and it's a rather consistent negative experience every time. **Update - two days ago I had an upper GI. For some weird reason the surgery center sent it to Walgreens in Tulane California. Needless to say, 2,272 miles is a bit out of the way. I called Walgreens's and spoke with the pharmacist (Brandon). My Dr. accidentally sent a medicine to the wrong pharmacy. I called to have it moved. They said it would it be done in about an hour. Came to pick up the medicine 3 hours later and it still wasn't ready. The tech said they were too busy to call and didn't know when they would have time call. I'm sorry I didn't know poison ivy in my eye wasn't important enough for a 5 minute phone call. This Walgreens in Alexandria, Kentucky on View Point Dr. is fabulous. The pharmacy is the best I've ever worked with. I'm going to be moving to Ohio, and if I can't find a Walgreens up there with a staff as nice and efficient, I will continue to go the distance to use this one. They know me when I show up for my prescriptions, they are always polite, and I rarely have to wait if I have to call the pharmacy. I trusted them enough to get my high dose flu shot there, and will go there for the COVID shot if they are providing it. Because of COVID, I don't go inside anymore, but when I did, I always was greeted and the store was always clean and well supplied. Out of the 5 stars, I give them a 6 !!!!!
