I accidentally locked the keys to my girlfriend's 2010 inside (fortunately at home) the prior Saturday. Waldo's isn't open on the weekend, so called Monday afternoon. Dispatcher Katelynn said she could have someone come by in about half an hour. She followed up with a call in a short while that someone would be there in about 10 minutes. PJ (the technician) pulled in right as promised in a well-labeled van. I met him and confirmed the work, and he dug right in. Unsuccessful at 'picking' the lock, he resorted to an older method of partially forcing the passenger door open, and reaching in with a long, thick wire to pull the handle. Piece of cake. Done in less than 10 minutes. I thought the price was worth it. read more

Door Dummies is a legit father/son team using US parts and US labor you can trust. They put relationships over profit which is rare in this marketplace. Dual spring replacement should cost around $400-$500. It's unfortunate to learn there are other scammers out there charging $1000+ for these services with fake warranties to grandmas. I got bids on Yelp with people charging the the most, with the most reviews, and have the least valuable services if you look deep enough. It's good to replace both springs and potentially end plate bearings each time. Door Dummies will be honest if you need those replaced. Average spring life is about 7-10 years. It's worth contacting Door Dummies to check these out if you are in that age range. Getting stuck in your garage when they snap is dangerous. Door Dummies is a honest company and you should help them build this business on original North Carolina values.
