I ordered the shredded chicken sandwich first, which tasted great and is a local staple. Then I went back for the peanut butter soft serve and cookie dough (concrete, blizzard....I forget exactly what they call them). Explain to me why this place was empty at 5pm on a Friday night?…read more My husband and I ventured to Richwood to attend a high school football game and needed to grab a bite to eat ahead of time. When the place we originally planned to stop at ended up being packed, we decided to just stop into Subway but the parking space my husband ended up picking actually put us right in front of this little gem. An ice cream place with a normal and unusual appetizers and burgers and a full bar - crazy concept but it works. Note: we did not try the ice cream nor bar drinks. My husband and I ordered the arancini, and it did not disappoint. We also both ordered the Cheetos and Consequences burger (mine was sans Cheetos, I'm not a fan). This was obviously made with a fresh-not-frozen patty. All in all I'm pleased with our accidentally discovery and implore Richwood to patronize this establishment!

On my continuing drive-about breakfast adventures, I stumbled into Edison Depot -- part restaurant,…read morepart coffee shop, part ice cream parlor, and 100% small-town charm. First impression? The place was incredibly clean -- the kind of clean where you almost hesitate to set down your coffee mug because you don't want to mess up the shine. Inside, the locals were holding court: talking crops, local happenings, and laughing like this was their morning news network. It felt less like eavesdropping and more like I'd been drafted into the Edison Breakfast Club. I went with the Country Fried Steak and scrambled eggs (the waitress must've sensed I needed backup protein). The food was solid, classic diner fare -- hearty enough to fuel a day of farming, driving, or just another round of local gossip. The real MVP? The service. My waitress treated coffee refills like an Olympic relay -- the bottom of my cup never once saw daylight. For the tribe, I ordered a breakfast bowl, a half order of biscuits and gravy, some bacon, and even oatmeal to keep things balanced. The portions were generous, and it all packed up neatly for the road. Pro Tip: Don't just come hungry, come curious. Sit back, sip your coffee, and you'll leave knowing more about Edison crops than you ever planned. Verdict: Edison Depot is the kind of place where breakfast isn't just a meal -- it's a community event with eggs, gravy, and unlimited coffee on the side.

It's a unique place with an old train car built into the structure. Be careful on the steps. Tjey don't have anything vegan and not much is vegetarian, but my parents enjoy the burgers and say it's much better than fast food. I had a grilled cheese with fries. It was good, if a little basic, but it was also really cheap. Could make it at home, but nice to eat out sometimes. Much cheaper than grilled cheese at a food truck. The burgers are cheaper than fast food so it is better to go here as opposed to a fast food chain. They also have an ice cream parlor, but I haven't tried that yet. Over it's pretty good.
