Honest, professional, and knowledgeable doctor! Dr. Waldman is unlike any other dermatologist. He was genuinely concerned about me and did not try to push his own agenda. He laid out all the options I had with pros and cons and said it was really up to me. It is really rare to find a dermatologist these days that will develop a personalized treatment plan instead of pushing for the easiest or most expensive. I feel like some of the reviews may have misunderstood Dr. Waldman. It is true that he has a very straightforward personality, but it does not come off to me as uncaring. It's actually refreshing to have a doctor that doesn't act like a salesperson! Scheduling was simple and the office was easy to find with lots of parking. His hours are Mon/Wed/Fri mornings, Tuesday all day, Wed he does surgery, and Thursday mornings at his Orange location. It was convenient that he opens at 7:30am so I was able to stop by right before work. The interior looks very clean and new. The staff was kind and there was a very short wait. Aside from my skin, I was also surprised how much he knew about my other conditions. Turns out he's also board certified in internal medicine! I am a former patient of Dr. Waldman. I moved to Arizona a couple years ago so I needed to find a new dermatologist. I had a suspicious spot on my cheek and the new dermatologist gave me the option of surgery or a chemo cream to put on. As easy as a "cream" sounds I wanted to do the right thing. Dr. Waldman removed two moles and sent them out for a biopsy. He removed them on separate visits explaining that sometimes too much local anesthesia can make some people feel shaky. Good thing because I was sensitive to the anesthesia! I called the office when I wasn't feeling well and they reassured me everything would be ok. They even called back after a half hour to make sure I was alright. His staff is the best! I was terrified to have the moles removed, so Dr. Waldman had his office assistant hold my hand during the procedure. She stayed with me the entire time and was so nice about it. I found Dr. Waldman to be professional, honest, direct and caring. He followed up with my results promptly and asked if everything was going ok. I would go see him again. I was referred to Dr. Waldman by an urgent care doctor, as I had a really bad allergic reaction to antibiotics. Dr. Waldman's office (Agnes) was so sweet and took me in that same day (really within an hour) so he can check out my symptoms. I was extremely miserable and he quickly diagnosed and prescribed me my medication. He also had me make a follow-up appointment that same week due to my condition. I know that his office makes appointments months in advance and I thought it was extremely caring that they knew the urgency of my situation and fit me right in. This was my first time visiting a dermatologist, recommended by a coworker. The reason for my visit is that I noticed what I thought to be an atypical mole on my neck. Dr. Waldman efficiently examined it and suggested a biopsy. He had to give me a shot to numb it, and shave it off to send for a biopsy. I was nervous because I faint when I get shots. Dr. Waldman was professional, made me feel at ease, and accommodated to my needs. He even walked me down the hallway to sit in the waiting room until I wasn't feeling woozy anymore. The staff was very nice and professional. Clean office, conveniently located. ****UPDATE 1/19/18**** My experience at Dr. Waldman's office remains the same. Courteous and caring staff. However, their billing is a MESS. Disorganized and rude. They called me accusing me that my insurance was terminated. Concerned because I am 100% sure that I have coverage, I called my insurance company, who told me that they had never received a claim from this provider. I called Waldman's office back and had them resubmit the claim. One month later, I receive a bill from Dr. Waldman's office that boldly states YOUR INSURANCE HAS BEEN TERMINATED PAY $260 TODAY. Frustrated, I called Dr. Waldman's office again to dispute this. The woman who assisted me was rude, and insisted that my insurance was terminated. I asserted that this was obviously not the case, since I recently received a bill from the lab that processed my biopsy, and my insurance deductible was CLEARLY listed. She continued to argue with me in a rude tone, saying that my insurance does not exist. Frustrated, I phoned my insurance for the second time. My insurance told me that the office had not processed the claim correctly, and directed me to instruct them to call provider services. I find it odd that I have to tell administrative assistants how to do their jobs. I will NOT be returning to an office that does not know how to process a task as simple as an insurance claim. Absolutely ridiculous. Again, my experience AT my appointment was wonderful, but the billing process that followed has been an absolute nightmare. Proceed with caution. read more

Remember when your doctor treated you like part of the family? I do... Last Thanksgiving I was riding my mountain bike when I hit a cactus with my left hand. It was one of those big cactuses with the 2" steel-like needles, with about a dozen of them now lodged in my fingers and knuckles, deep, and incredibly painful. I placed a call - his office was closed but I left a message and Dr. Waldman called me back. Get this - - - He asked me to meet him in his office - - - on Thanksgiving! He made a special trip with just him, his (cool) teenaged son and me in the office. He spent about 2 hours surgically removing the needles, some sticking out, others hidden under the skin - everywhere. Gentle and Meticulous. You just don't see this kind of doctor everyday. I really enjoyed Dr. Waldman's staff, they are very nice and efficient. My typical visit from the time I walk in to the office to the time I leave is typically 30 minutes, which is important as it is usually on my lunch hour. Dr Waldman has been a great physician to me and my family. When my little girl broke out with a hive rash all over her body, we freaked out and rushed her to him. I have been coming here for over 10 years. ( on and off ) Service is amazing!! Staff are friendly and welcoming. Dr.Waldman treats his clients like family. I had an infection that 2-3 doctors wanted me to go to another doctor and wanted me to just wait to see what happens. I have been been seeing Dr. Waldman at least twice a year for over 20 years. I have been completely satisfied with the care, attention and advice that the Dr. has provided over this lengthy period. Due to my fair skin and ample time spent in the sun, I have had at least eight or nine Mohs procedures performed by Dr. Waldman that he diligently caught and addressed before the skin cancer could turn into something more significant. A recent ¾ inch scar on my cheek is hardly noticeable 4 months later. The office is clean, there have been no insurance processing issues, staff have all been helpful and respectful, and the Dr. has always spent sufficient time at my side to answer all my questions. I am very thankful to Dr. Waldman and his staff for assisting me throughout the years and would highly recommend him for those of you conscientious about the risks that sun imposes on your skin. read more

I kept breaking out into hives and the dr never told me exactly what I had he would just keep avoiding my problem. I normally do not do reviews, but I felt compelled to do this one. Dr. Waldman has been my dermatologist for many years and I have received excellent treatment from him over the years. Recently I developed significant sores on my body that came on quickly so I called his office on the first day they opened after the COVID-19 shut down and although they were booked two weeks out, he took the time to do a video call and then suggested I come in that day. Lucky I did since I was diagnosed with a very rare autoimmune disease from the biopsies that he did, and early detection is important for treatment success. He then referred me to a local specialist for the disease that has me on a treatment plan that seems to be working. I can't thank Dr Waldman enough for taking the time to see me on short notice and diagnosing my disease so quickly which can take months to diagnose due to its rarity. read more

Have been a patient for many years. He has performed mohs surgery twice on my nose for basal cell cancer. The cancer was very deep and he had to take three passes to get it all while treading the conservative but safe line. I was afraid I would have an enormous scar but it cannot be seen at all. A plastic surgeon could not have done a better job. I go in for regular checks and freezing of pre-cancers. Dr. Waldman was very straight to the point and got right down to the dirty work of giving me a cortisone shot and draining the sucker.
