Here is one…read moreoutfit I definitely won't be using: Figuratively, I've been biting my tongue for too long - and I've actually bitten it far too many times. I have something to say about Davis & Nyczepir and it isn't pretty. I went to this outfit because I needed some teeth straightened. Two teeth in my upper arch were significantly misaligned and giving me trouble. I described to them at length and in great detail what I wanted done. Neither of them ever said one word to me about their not being able to, or not intending to, do what I had communicated to them. They allowed me to go ahead, pay them in full up front, and start treatment, believing that they had listened to me and would be doing what I expected. It was sixteen months into the treatment when I found out that they had devised their own treatment plan, without informing me, and leaving out something that I had requested and paid for. I was told that it wasn't in my "original treatment plan." So, according to Davis & Nyczepir, something that I mentioned in our initial discussion, and that I know they heard, ended up not being in their treatment plan. Yet, two things which were never mentioned in our initial discussions - filing my teeth, and having me wear their retainer for the "remainder of my life" - were sprung on me many months later when it suited them. At one point, the one tooth they worked on for 19 months, had been moved too far. When I pointed this out, Davis said "I can tuck it in some," which he did, again going too far, undoing the progress of several months. Another time, at the beginning of an appointment, I pointed out a large gap between two front teeth that had developed since the previous appointment, and that I know wasn't supposed to be there. This blunder had to be reversed, which means that weeks of treatment before and after that were wasted. I was thoroughly disappointed with their service - a complete waste of time and money. - so I politely asked for a refund. They didn't have the courtesy to respond so I took them to small claims court. I gave the facts of what had happened - they had not touched a major part of what I had asked and paid for. Davis's testimony was to mumble through a list of appointment dates and notes. The only thing he said of any pertinence to the case was "Number fourteen, we talked about that." This is not even true. I talked about #14, telling them in no uncertain terms that it was part of why I was there, and that I needed to have it straightened. They said nothing to me about #14. They boast "We strongly believe in patient education and good communication. Everything is carefully explained and every question is answered." That is not how they treated me. The communication was stunningly poor. They accomplished close to nothing for me, not even the one thing they spent 19 months working on - they could not even straighten and align my two front teeth. My advice - if you're thinking about orthodontics: "don't go there." I hate these men for what they did to me. These are the facts. This is what happened. Caveat emptor with Davis & Nyczepir.

Friendly staff, clean establishment, welcoming environment…read more I was greeted by the friendliest reception and front desk staff. They all smiled and was pleasant towards me. They were speaking on the phone to other patients and kept a friendly and calm demeanor and tone. I met with the dental hygienist Amanda H. and she was so patient and kind. I expressed that I was a coward and she was so compassionate and she had a gentle hand. She explained every step of the process and put my mind at ease. After a short while, Dr. Wong came in and did his examination. He was so nice and had the best bedside manner. He was efficient and thorough and answered all my questions. This is a place that I would highly recommend.

I was beyond unhappy with my experience here…read more The good part is that it is a lovely office and a lot of the people here are very friendly. The front desk staff is amazing. The not so good part is a bit lengthier unfortunately and sort of based on my personal experience. A little back story is that I'm a disabled vet, so generally, all of my care is handled at the VA hospital. Occasionally, when they are very backed up and overwhelmed, they will outsource you to a place in town and foot the bill for it though. Enough back story... Last year, I needed to have a new oral appliance (think like a retainer) made for my sleep apnea when my old one was damaged and the VA sent me here. This place gets the referral from the VA and I have my appointment to come in to have the imprint/mold made to make the appliance. Awesome! Except... they won't make the mold until they do a cleaning. Fair enough. It has been about a year since my last one. Let's do it. But wait... It is going to be a BIG job, so they want to break it up into two deep cleaning sessions and only do half of my mouth each time. *Sigh* Okay. Whatever gets me closer to being able to sleep again. Two separate cleaning appointments later and I go back for another appointment to have my imprint made and, wouldn't you know, I have a cavity that needs filling and they can't make the imprint until after that gets filled. *Annoyed sigh* After that filling, they can't make my imprint because they aren't happy with one of my previously done fillings, and can't (or won't) make it until after they rip out the filling that is already there and redo it. *Frustrated grunt* But they handle all the insurance stuff with the VA, so I just let them do it. I am still in UNBEARABLE pain a week later. I call because at this point, I am pretty sure they messed something up with the filling because even my wisdom teeth removal stopped hurting after two days. They will happily schedule me to come in and check if they messed up... After they clear it with my insurance and receive confirmation for payment. Which was the first time I actually got upset because I am in constant pain, still can't sleep, and they are charging to see if they messed up... Everything gets cleared up and I finally get to go back in after they are sure they will get paid. Obviously they say they did everything right, but they want to schedule another appointment for me to see about a root canal or extraction. But, they will not make my imprint until after I take care of that tooth that is "not messed up". At this point, my perception is that they were intentionally drawing out services to get the VA to pay for them. Whether or not that is actually the case, I still had to reach out to the VA, who did agree that it felt like I was being strung along and was no closer to getting the imprint for my sleep device. They immediately sent me to someone else who DID make the imprint and the device and I was finally able to sleep about 1.5 months later. Again, this is just my perception of my experience here, but I am very happy that I was not the one having to pay for every single appointment, especially a follow-up when I was pretty sure they messed it up.
