November 2021 my 95 year old mother became a resident at Sutton Home for Women. I have been…read moreextremely happy with the care that she receives. The staff is more than wonderful; they go out of their way to make the residents happy and comfortable. Whenever my mom needs assistance with anything, someone is always there to help. The director, Barbara, is a godsend; she has gone out of her way to help my mom adjust with her new living environment. Barbara has helped me with many tasks as I live in another state and can't always be available when my mom needs assistance. Mom says the food is delicious and frequently there are delicious home baked treats for dessert. I especially like that the residence is small and has a homey feel. When searching for a residence for my mom, I looked at many places. I believe Sutton Home was definitely the right choice.

They provide monthly training for the volunteer teachers and regular community events, including an annual fundraiser called Yum! that highlights local immigrant-owned restaurants. The Welcome Project is a great community that I'd recommend for students and volunteers alike.

I've used them several times for donations (they come & pick up unused furniture, etc). Everyone is always nice - the scheduler is really nice & polite on the phone & the pick-up guys are great (and strong - which is key when you want to donate a sofa bed up on your 3rd floor apartment).

This is an amazing resource for homeless and poor women in Boston. Rosie's is not only a shelter,…read morebut also runs classes, distributes clothing, cooks hot meals, and manages a food pantry. Many women in my community have lived at Rosie's place when faced with unstable or unsafe housing. I have been lucky enough to volunteer at Rosie's food pantry. This is a lean and efficient operation. When I was there, it was managed by an experienced, smart lady named Maria, who had worked there many years. A few days before Thanksgiving, the limited stock was heartbreaking. Though 60 women came through, there were only enough cans of tuna for about half of the women. Rosie's is always in need of donations and volunteers. Is tuna on sale-10 for $10? Buy 10 for Rosie's! Organize a toiletries drive at your place of work! Donate your kids' old books! You will be a hero! This is a great place to volunteer with friends and a great place to do something important that benefits your community.

I met Donna, the founder and director, via a local Facebook group and immediately was impressed and inspired by her mission to help children, parents and families of our community. God bless her, her husband and the volunteers that are making her passion for loving kids into a real tangible community support organization. I went by the location today (used to be Burlington Food pantry) and was so happy to see the thought and organization put into making a dignified, free shopping experience for children and their families to get their essential needs and much more taken care of. They take donations (I dropped off some gently used toys) and make them into answered prayers. If you are in search or in need of something for your family, call to book a private appointment for free shopping. Wee Care Burlington has so much to offer!
