My humble home town is undergoing a big redevelopment and the first shiny new building to pop up was a Waitrose.
It's light, clean, airy, always well stocked and the staff are friendly.
My Waitrose card and I often visit for the daily free hot drink. There are several machines around the shop or you can take advantage of the freebie in the cafe at the rear of the store. There's even a trolly park, like a grocery creche, to mind your items while you're supping a well deserved peppermint tea.
Nothing can replace the beloved Regal Cinema that was bulldozed to make way for it but the sadness alleviates with every free tea. read more
