I LOVE coming to see Wai. He does such a good job of mixing in stretching and massage, and really gets to the heart of the problem. His space is clean. He is kind. Best bodywork I've ever had. read more

In my 40+ years of getting Thai massages, Swedish massages and deep tissue massages this was far the best massage ever. Wai was awesome. He is very knowledgeable, professional, courteous and massaged every trigger point on my body. I highly, highly recommend him. read more

I am quite picky when it comes to massages but this guy Wai exceeds all my expectations. His techniques are very intuitive and soothing, and at the same time many chiropractic elements are incorporated for your body's needs. I also highly recommend to check out his massage package deals on his website which I think it is an amazing gift for holiday season. read more

I've had two massages from Wai now and they've both been great! The first was a Thai massage and the second was Swedish. They have both been exceptional, leaving me relaxed after the session. I think what sets Wai apart outside of his skill is his attentiveness and generosity with his time. He took the time to really understand my needs and my body's tendencies before and during the session, ensuring that the experience was tailored to me, making suggestions based on my constitution, and checking in frequently. My sessions have also both ended a bit after the allotted time. I've experienced massages that end earlier even with the first 5 minutes usually taken up by aligning on needs, so I appreciate how thorough Wai is and how he goes above and beyond. I highly recommend him for anyone looking for an amazing masseuse. I'll be returning myself! read more

Would highly recommend the deep tissue massage with Wai. I came here on a whim because I needed to burn a bunch of ClassPass credits. It was also my first time getting this type of massage but I felt extremely comfortable and relaxed the entire time. Wai really helped work a lot of tension out of my neck and shoulders and was extremely professional. Absolutely would come back here again! read more

I'm blown away! Wai's Swedish massage was one of the best I've ever had. His office is nice and relaxing. There is nice ambient music playing. As a man, I typically go to women masseuse, so I was a bit apprehensive, but felt really comfortable in the atmosphere he created. I highly recommend his services. read more

Do yourself a favor and get a massage with Wai! He is awesome and you will be so grateful you went! Had booked a 90 minute Thai massage and Wai was accommodating enough to add some extra time to work on my back. I have been to so many massage places and have never felt this great. Wai listened to my concerns, was attentive, and delivered high quality results. He really knows Thai massage well and I left feeling loosened up, restored, and relaxed. 10/10, highly recommend. read more

I had my first Swedish massage with Wai and really enjoyed my experience; my body felt super relaxed and great afterwards. I was really stiff from sitting and working on the computer all day but Wai was able to alleviate all of those symptoms. Also, Wai is very friendly and knowledgeable about his craft. You can tell he is an experienced massage therapist who is passionate about what he does and that he cares about his customers a lot. I would highly recommend Wai to anyone who is looking for a great massage therapist or an experience! read more

Wai Bodywork - Massage Therapy Near Me - San Francisco, California

Wai's space is cozy and relaxing, and he really knows how to work out all those stubborn knots. I left feeling like a brand-new person! If you're in need of a deep tissue massage that actually delivers, this is the spot. Plus, Wai is super friendly and really listens to what your body needs. Highly recommend for anyone who needs to hit "reset" on their stress! read more

I would highly recommend Wai Bodywork to anyone! I have frequent migraine, partially due to tightness in my upper trap muscle. Wai first did active release on the area via assisted stretches and/or push motion, targeting different muscles one at a time, and. then he did deep tissue massage. I left the room feeling so much lighter around my head and neck. I also have pretty tight lat muscle from rock climbing, and Wai worked on them and helped me with my range of motion. At the end, Wai told me a few stretches that I could do at home. You could tell Wai really cares about his clients and genuinely wants them to feel better. Thanks Wai! read more

I've been to many massages before so I am picky but I decided to try Wai as he was having a promotion and I'm so glad I did. He uses a combination of Swedish, Thai, deep tissue and stretching to adapt to your situation and it's so effective. You can tell he is passionate about what he does and genuinely wants to ensure he is treating your aches and pains. I will be making the drive across town to see him regularly - my back has felt better than it's been for ages since my visit. The office space is conveniently located and has a nice ambience as well. Highly recommend Wai to anyone! read more

I've been going to Wei for over 3 years now. He is the absolute best. I played college water polo and now have a baby, lots of pulled muscles and fatigue. Wei is the best at curating the massage to my needs. He is also one of the most affordable masseuses I have found in SF. Cannot recommend him enough. I have recently experienced extreme lower back pain, diagnosed as a muscle spasm, but medications were not working. I told Wei about my issues and he focused on the lower back, even using tools to help loosen it. He constantly checked in to make sure I was not in pain and that the pressure was okay. Wei is very experienced in pressure points and human anatomy as well as Thai herbal relaxation techniques. I highly recommend the 90 minute Swedish massage. His studio is calming, cozy and clean, right off of union street, perfect place for dinner and relaxation. Front door is alittle hard to find but Wei is super helpful when finding the studio. read more

Great massage. Couldn't recommend him more If you're in the area. Better than any other option. Treat yourself. read more

I've been dealing with back, shoulder, and neck pain from sitting at a desk for years, and after just one session here, I felt like a new person. Wai is incredibly skilled in Thai, Swedish, Deep Tissue, and Therapeutic massage and knows exactly how to target areas of tension. My body feels so much better and my posture has improved too. The studio has a relaxed, welcoming vibe, making it easy to unwind and focus on self-care. If you're looking for real relief and a quality massage, this place is a hidden gem. Highly recommend! read more

This is the best massage I've ever had - Wai listened to the issues I've been having and targeted them very effectively, is very knowledgeable, and explained what might be causing tightness or pain. He also showed me exercises to do to improve my muscular imbalances and mobility. My range of motion is vastly improved after each session. read more

This is personalized, therapeutic massage specific to your needs, not rote, sequence spa massage. Whatever ails you, Wai diligently listens and then works on your issues to magical effect. I've had many massages, but Wai stands out in working on what actually is impacting my body rather than a robotic default program massage. Highly recommend!!! read more

I got a 90 minute deep tissue massage from Wai, and he did a great job loosening up my neck and shoulders--super tight spots due to computer work and sleeping funny (inevitable with my cat who likes to be my scarf at night)! The space is comfortable, and Wai is thorough and thoughtful in his approach. He checked in to see how the pressure was, and I appreciated his knowledge in how to best stretch out stubborn areas first (think movements similar to Thai massages or physical therapy). I like it when massages are both effective and relaxing at the same time! Thank you, Wai! I'll be back! read more

Hands down the best bodywork and deep tissue massage in SF. Wai is a master of his craft. I've been seeing Wai every week for three months now, and his thoughtful, careful approach to each session has been transformational for my neck, back and shoulder tension. Wai is extremely considerate of any existing health issues, and checks in regularly to make sure you're comfortable. I rarely write reviews but was surprised and disappointed to read the negative review below which does not resonate with my experience with Wai at all. I suspect that person may even have Wai confused with someone else. I trust Wai's expertise and am grateful for the care and good vibes he puts into every session. If you're looking for a bodywork experience from someone who is not only an expert, but an awesome human who truly cares about his clients - go and see Wai. read more

WARNING: DO NOT GO HERE. I have a herniated disc and permanent damage as a result of Wai's massage. I came in for a 90 minute deep tissue massage. I was under the impression that this would be a standard massage appointment, similar to several I have gotten through ClassPass in the past. Upon starting my massage, Wai started using several tools and back-cracking positions that were not typical in a massage. That's when he explained to me he practices BodyWork, a mix of chiropractor and masseuse techniques. Immediately after the massage, once I had gotten home, I had shooting pain in my back and was unable to walk for nearly 10-15 minutes when an episode occurred. This happened several times a day. Shortly after, I went to the doctor and they diagnosed me with a disc herniation at the age of 23. I was never injured in this timeframe; nor did I engage in any strenuous physical activity. Was it a coincidence this happened right after my massage with Wai? No. His massage meant to relieve my back tightness left me with a permanent issue at my young age - now I have to invest time into PT and potentially surgery to fix my back. And live with a life-long condition. He has robbed me of my health and youth - without even putting a disclaimer as to the risks of his procedures and the deviations he takes from typical massages. If I had known he did chiropractor techniques, I never would have gone. Never go here if you value your safety or health. I regret ever going. read more

Wai is the best. It's unlike any massage or bodywork experience I've ever had. I always leave with greater mobility and feel like I understand where I have tension or what I need to stretch more. He's very receptive to feedback and easy to work with. read more

Wai is great at what he does! Go here for sure. He cares deeply about your experience, and goes out of his way to make sure he is helping your body in the ways that it needs. Wai was incredibly skilled and knowledgeable, and he took the time to focus on my problem areas. I had a lot of knots and tension that was built up for so long and he knew where to work on without it being painful. Felt like years of pain and stress was lifted after my session. It was fairly quiet so you can definitely feel relaxed and comfortable. I've been using Wai for all my massages even before he had his own studio so I'm very pleased. Overall, I would highly recommend Wai's Bodywork if anyone is in need of some self-care and relaxation. It was truly a wonderful experience and I can't wait to book my next appointment. 10/10 read more
