"The teachers were nice and very informative. The main room is small, and in an almost full class, it can get a bit crowded. The biggest deterrent for me was the lack of hospitality from the front desk workers that I encountered. I had a couple of uncomfortable encounters with them that left me feeling unwelcome. I detailed them more below. I received two promotional cards that would allow for a free week of classes to experience the studio. I just found out that during my first visit with this card, I should have been given a code or card that would allow me to register or check-in for other classes that week. Neither of these things was offered or even mentioned to me. During my second visit, I was waiting for my turn next in line to be helped by the front desk people when another man walked up behind me and joined the line. Both the front desk people saw me waiting, and when they had finished with the man in front of me, they looked past me and asked the man BEHIND me if he was next. He didn't say otherwise, so I spoke up and said that actually, I had been waiting and that I was next. This was met with an awkward half-apology, and they proceeded to get me registered for the class that was to begin shortly. So I brushed this incident aside and gave them the benefit of the doubt. I returned for another visit yesterday and even brought a friend with me to try out the studio as well on the same type of promotional card I had received. These cards for a free week expire on December 15th, and according to my sales receipt from using my promotional card, my free week expires on 12/18/16. However, when I brought my friend in on (12/14/16) we were told that the free week has to be completed by the 15th. This encounter was after we arrived a few minutes before the yoga class and it was overemphasized that we JUST made it and that the doors get locked once the class starts. We had enough time to change and get settled before the class actually began. A couple of people left and returned during the class so it doesn't appear that it was locked. These passive-aggressive incidents combined made it clear that my roommate and I were not welcome in this homogeneous community." read more

That was probably the worst yoga class I've taken in my life. And I've done maaany workout classes. Wasn't yoga, and many times we all stood there because no one understood what the instructor said on top of the LOUD club music. Like I'm here to find my zen, not feel distressed. Outside the class, the place does not feel premium at all, like other reviews say said, not even close to Equinox LOL. Shower was not clean and floor was slippery, really easy to fall. Not even lotion available. For $200+ a month that's what you get? I'm really suspecting fake reviews because you are definitely not getting your money's worth. Just stick to your Equinox membership or get Core40 monthly. Being generous with 2 stars because the receptionist was nice and friendly. read more

My husband and I both wanted the one hour foot massage. We were provided the shared room. Masseuses are like hair stylists, you have your specific person who knows what you like and you keep returning to that same person. I have found that here, with Ann. We discussed a few bumps on my one foot in order to avoid them or use very light pressure. She was magical. The pressure was what I had requested at a light to medium. It felt like she was working toxins out of each muscle as she slowly and deliberately applied precise pressure and movements to make me feel relaxed. Even blissful. She alternated between using her hands, fingers, elbow, arm and wooden tools. It was heavenly. My husband had Alice and he was equally pleased though he requested extreme pressure. Place could be cooler and have louder music. It just adds to that feeling of floating on a cloud. It didn't seem as if our shared room had speakers. I was very happily surprised! She was great at applying strong pressure throughout and really working at the knots in my back (I didn't know there were so many, but she found them)!! At the end, I definitely felt looser and more relaxed. It had been a while since my last deep tissue so I was also so so sore, but that was only more proof that she really got in there! I enjoyed my massage so much that I came back later that week :) I didn't get the name of my masseuse that time, but she was similarly wonderful! Aside from the actual massage, I love the use of the hot towels at the end. It's a great way to soak up the oil they use and it's also really relaxing. The vibe of the place is very cute and calming. One note is that the room walls don't go all the way up to the ceiling. I didn't find this an issue because they are usually very quiet in the lobby, and I personally can't zone out anyway during a deep tissue, but just something to note if you think that will affect your experience! Finally, the staff are all so thoughtful, welcoming, and sweet. Last-minute reservations are usually possible, which is a huge plus for me. I highly recommend this place!!

I tried Crown Thai on a recent visit to SF from NYC, and loved my experience with Tanya! I usually avoid Asian massage parlors because they use too much pressure on the wrong parts of my back, don't seem to intuitively know where to target, and don't ask questions about desired pressure or target areas as they go. Tanya made sure to ask if I wanted my back walked on beforehand (thank goodness because I really don't like that!) and, after she asked about target areas, gave me the best deep tissue neck and shoulder massage that ironed out my knots but was relaxing enough that I fell asleep! Head massage was also superb! It was a perfect balance of muscle work and de-stressing. Their homemade ginger oil left a nice lingering tingle on my neck and shoulders while she worked on the rest of my body. $175 for 85 mins for this quality in this neighborhood: A+++
