Cubli is an extremely fearful, reactive, resource-guarding Pekingese with a bite history. We had already worked with a behavioral veterinarian, tried medication, and worked with two highly qualified reward-based, fear-free trainers. Despite our best efforts, we simply weren't making progress. Aaron's approach is completely different, but that does NOT mean it's cruel. I would never allow that. Everything he did was calm, confident, and purposeful. He never yelled or tried to frighten Cubli. During our four-hour session, Cubli attacked him several times and even broke the skin on his arm. Aaron handled every situation calmly and safely, and by the end of the session Cubli was voluntarily walking up to him for attention. That alone spoke volumes to me. Even more amazing were the changes we saw in just one session. I was able to pet Cubli's head, something that had become incredibly difficult. Cubli also remained completely calm while someone used our guest bathroom, which previously would have triggered frantic barking and attempts to chase and bite. What impressed me most wasn't just the changes in Cubli, but how much Aaron taught James and me. We realized that many things we thought were perfectly normal were actually contributing to Cubli's emotional state. Aaron helped us understand how to communicate with our dog in a way that helps him feel safe instead of feeling responsible for controlling every situation. We know one session doesn't magically solve years of behavioral issues, and the real work now belongs to us. But for the first time since adopting Cubli, we genuinely feel hopeful. Aaron understood our dog in a way no one else had. Somewhat to my embarrassment, I actually started to cry as Aaron was leaving. That is very unlike me. It wasn't because I thought Cubli was "fixed." It was because, for the first time in a very long time, I truly felt he had a chance. If you have a fearful, reactive, aggressive, or resource-guarding dog and feel like you've run out of options, I can't recommend Aaron highly enough. He was worth every penny.

At 50 lbs, she was becoming impossible to walk, and I was truly worried she'd never be able to enjoy the world around her. After an insightful evaluation with Tra, we decided on the 2-week Board and Train. As a nervous dog mom, I was worried she would shut down, but Joseph was a godsend. To ease my anxiety, he provided daily pics and updates on her progress, which meant the world to me. The lack of communication and professionalism--especially on a veterans-related initiative--is unacceptable. I expected more from a company that claims to support veterans. In the yard a few days later, my husband got the water hose and our dog freaked out! She ran away from the hose and ran straight toward me. She didn't do well around the hose or loud noises like music. I know Paula has an airconditioned area where they kennel and I wonder if they wet my dog and then put her in an airconditioned kennel. When dropping her off for the first time, the man in the back yard, had a water hose with an adjustable sprayer in his hand. I wonder if they shoot the dogs with water when they want them to do something. Glad we took her out.

Upon pickup Paula showed us all of the tricks that she taught our dog and some of them weren't working while she showed us which was fine because we only cared about the potty training for the most part. We took her home and after a few days we realized she's just not potty trained at all. We took her back to be trained for an extra week and a half free of charge. The potty training seemed much better after that but definitely not perfect. Our end result was that we had a dog who was halfway potty trained (pooping inside) and that she could walk on a leash. She could also sit and stay on command. I'm not sure how she got along with the other dogs there but she had a huge fear of big dogs afterwards and we're still working to get her passed that. If you do go to get your dog trained, she offers cheaper boarding for you and first dibs on boarding. So basically she gives you the VIP treatment.

I've taken them to kristi twice now and I'm very happy with the results. She's so patient with these fur babies. One of them is high strung and a very nervous fur baby. Kristi makes him feel safe. He doesn't come out shaking like he did with other groomers because he's giving her kisses. My other pom loves everyone but she has thick course hair. Kristi gives her a wonderful deep condition that makes it soft. I like that when I tell her what I want I get exactly that. They always look great. We are already scheduled for our next appointment in 8 weeks. Everyone I've met her is so nice. I love taking my babies here. Theyre very reasonable too. Plus if you book your next appointment the same day you pickup you get 10% off your next appointment. Go check them out.
