Love wagamamas. I discovered this restaurant chain about a year ago and I've been many times. I love the flavours and freshness of their food. Raisukaree and Chicken Katsu Curry are my favourite, lots of flavours. The chicken in Katsu Curry is amazing, coated well and crispy. Can have chicken grilled if you don't want it fried or veg option (yasai). They do great gyoza. I tried duck, chicken and veg, and all are great And to top it off, you get beautiful view of canal day and night. Friendly staff and they sometimes give vouchers for free drinks outside. Wagamama is one of the restaurants I never say no, when it comes up during picking a place to eat with friends after movies or just hungry. Always happy going to this place. They do great fresh juice. Price isn't bad, portions are just right, always fills me up.

This is one of those ' it is what it is ' kind of reviews. This was not my first choice of places to go but a friend insisted she wanted to go so I thought why not. When we arrived at around 6 the restaurant was dead with only us in there. We were given the menus and were left to decide what we wanted. I went for a power juice and a ramen style dish made in a coconut soup with chicken. The power juice was decent but did not pack a punch of ginger and my food although tasty was not amazing. I like noodles and noodle bars , but every branch of this chain that I have been to has failed to impress. I'll keep trying....good.....but nothing more than that really.

I was told that when you're in the mood for some Asian food Wagamama is the place to go, so I told my cousins to take me as I'm not from the UK. The location we went to was dead and we seemed to have the whole place to our selves, no complaints as it was still pretty early for lunch. We were promptly sat down and given menus and a couple minutes to order. The server explained that the way they work is as soon as the food is made it is sent out to the table as to maintain freshness so not every would receive their dishes at the same time. Exactly as sushi restaurants back home so I understood the concept. Ended up getting some fresh juice, was a bit pricey for how much I got but seeing as its in town I could see why they increase prices. For food I decided to just order a main as I wasn't too hungry at the time. Went for one of their chef specials which was called the tamarind chicken or something alike. It was presented very well and was very tasty. Only thing I didn't agree with was the amount of chicken in the dish, I mean if the name of the dish has chicken in it you'd expect a descent sized portion like maybe a breast or something. Instead I got what looked like 3-5 tiny strips, could easily have eaten all of them in one mouthful. Overall nothing special, would maybe come here with a large group if we were to get appetizers but not over the top as most people here go on about it in my opinion.

Firecracker. The portion was too small. But really tasty !

Had a very nice meal with 2 good friends. A night couldn't get better started. I ate the firecracker chicken as a main meal. It was really delicious! I paid roughly 10 £ for that which is OK. I paid also 7 £ for a big beer which is not OK. Nice location really nice staff. I would definitely go there again!

Mushrooms bun (can't remember the name in the menu!)

I went to wagamama with my best friend last week, and as always, it was fantastic. As you know -or maybe not?- you can find three different wagamama's in town at the moment, one in bullring, the one in Brindley Place, and the most new one, in New st. I normally go to the one in New st because is literally one minute away from my workplace. All of them have plenty space and sunlight, because all the walls, or almost all of them are windows. I love that. Anyway, we went to the BP one and a waiter showed us our table really promptly. He brought us some iced tap water and the wine we chose with a cooler (it was white) and after a few more minutes, a different waitress took our food order. Both Nikki and me had the katsu curry, the veggie one. Amazing as always! Goes with aubergine, butternut squash, rice, and a thick curry sauce on top. It has a really refreshing salad as a garnish and it's really good too. We had some mushroom onigiri with a spicy dip and the new mushroom bun thing. I can't remember the name! Shame on me. It's a cute fresh bun filled with saluted mushrooms and some mayo. Delicious. As an extra side, I chose some edamame because Nikki never tried it before and I really like it. She loved it, of course. We didn't have any desert or coffee, just finished our wine (a really good spanish Cabernet) and chilled for a bit. In total we paid £25 each and I find it really reasonable, just the wine was £16 and the food is really fresh. Will go again!

Beautiful service ... actually my waitress was very pretty...and friendly. The restaurant is efficiently laid out and as a solo diner, I felt just fine. Food was good...not great. Squid appetizer was very fresh and tender. But the signature dish Wagamama ramen was a bit mild in taste...I had to add flavoring to get it up to speed in spiciness. 4 star's for my waitress but 3 stars for the food.

    Delicious beef chilli ramen.

Really lovely and helpful staff. I went in here with my partner for the first time and the waitresses were very kind despite our lack of knowledge and questionable methods of using chopsticks! The food was delicious, cooked perfectly and a very large portion. The meals don't come out together, they come out when they are ready, so you may not start eating at the same time, but it's such a nice environment you don't mind spending a long time there. Drinks are a little pricey, but the good makes up for it.

The Craven Arms was built for Holder's Brewery at the dawn of the twentieth century. Departing from the Victorian red brick and terra cotta style that is so prevalent in Brum, the exterior of The Craven Arms is adorned with lovely blue and gold tiles, making it one of the more colourful pubs in city centre. Inside, the tile and brick switches over to a traditional 'old man' pub style with wood, carpeting, and dark wood chairs and stools. From the outside, the pub belies the tight quarters inside. The pub makes great use of the space though, and the intimacy and cosiness creates a true neighbourhood feel. Once you grab a stool, be prepared for one of the best craft brew and real ale selections in the entirety of greater Birmingham. Black Country Ales is tied to the Craven Arms, and aside from their traditional golden, bitter, and brown, you'll find more real ales, some IPAs hopped to the max, and fun beers like a red hot chili beer. Hard to find bottled beers and cider in the fridge complete the impressive selections. The pub has no kitchen, but they serve up cheese baps (for £1) and allow you to bring in any outside food and will even provide a fork and knife for you. For the serious beer drinker, you can join their beer club and earn your way up toward the '100 club', tasting all kinds of brews along the way. If you are up for an old pub experience with the latest and greatest in new craft beers, the Crave Arms will suit you well.

The interior has been painstakingly restored to its original charm. Decor highlights include display cases of beer bottles from the early 1900s, a wood fireplace, cosy seating nooks with leather cushions, and the outdoor patio. Because this is a neighborhood pub, families come in throughout the day to enjoy a refreshing pint and most know the servers by name. It's a bit like being on the set of Cheers (American TV show from the 1980s). I went here with Seth S. and took my laptop with some reading. While the Tap doesn't have wifi, seating is comfortable and atmosphere is conducive to relaxing. We stayed for a few hours, enjoying a few pints of cider and then ordered two sides of chips when the kitchen opened at 5pm. The chips were perfectly cooked and flavorful. The portions are HUGE. We could have easily split one side, which was served up in a pasta bowl. The staff were very welcoming and made us feel right at home. I'll definitely be coming here often.

The Boldmere Tap has refurbished the previous Old Cork & Bottle into a homely neighborhood pub that is one of the most welcoming in Sutton Coldfield. Joule's is a craft brewery that jump-started a defunct 19th century brand (the first ever trademark in England) in the early 2000's that had been purchased by one of the big macro-breweries. The brewery is an easy one hour journey from Birmingham, and centers on crafting real ale with the local spring waters of Shropshire. The focus on the Joule's brewing legacy has led to the creation of some very well done ales and lagers. The Boldmere Tap is the first pub in Birmingham to be under the Joule's umbrella, and features their full line of beers on tap. I recently dropped by one afternoon with one of my mates to see what the brewery had to offer. I have previously tried their pale ale at a pub in city centre, and was excited to see the other featured beers. Joule's has four main beers in their stable, which are complemented by seasonal offerings. The mains are their flagship Pale Ale, Slumbering Monk (a malty bitter ale), Joule's Blond (nice and citrus forward), and Green Monkey (their lager). Their winter seasonal, Old No. 6, is a dark ale. All of the brews are available in half or pull pint pours (a half of the Slumbering Monk is only £1.50). If you aren't in the mood for Joule's taps, the pub also provides more standard fare, including Guinness. All of this is on top of their food menu. The kitchen opens at 10AM, where you can start the day off right with a full English Breakfast for £4.95. The main courses at dinner average around £8, with fish and chips at £7.95. For vegetarians, there are four main courses to choose from, including broccoli cheese bake, mushroom stroganoff, vegetable lasagna, and a bean burger, all for £7.25 or less. The neighborhood feeling that the Boldmere Tap elicits is woven into the very fabric of the building. The pub is decorated with bric a brac of old photos, vintage beer bottles, and a railway sign from the Chester Road station before the branding was refreshed by London Midland. On a cold January afternoon, a stove fire roared near the entrance, heating up the front room. Events are held throughout the week, with a quiz night on Mondays at 9PM and open mic nights on Wednesday. The Boldmere neighborhood, and Birmingham as a whole, are lucky that the Boldmere Tap has been chosen as the flagship Joule's pub for the area. The pub gets all of the benefits that come from being affiliated with a craft brewery, while still maintaining a very old school English pub charm that is increasingly lacking in the city.

If the TV show Cheers had been made in Birmingham then it would have been set here - literally, everybody knows your name. Even though I don't get down there as much as I used to (when I lived a few hundred years away!) I'm always greeted by name by both the bar staff and some of the locals. It's a genuinely friendly place with great beer that is a PROPER PUB. Some might call it an 'Old Man's Pub', which is completely fair, but that's what is so great about it. It's a particularly great place to watch sport, and football and cricket in particular. The locals are a knowledgeable crowd when it comes to both games and there is always a lively and friendly discussion to be had. They have recently started doing a different range of foods. You can get a pretty decent roast on a Sunday for around £4 and there is often a curry night that is well worth a visit. The curry is cooked by the landlord's wife and is excellent home cooked Indian food. The only word of caution I would offer about this place is to be careful when leaving late at night. It's not in the best or safest part of town and there have been a few nasty incidents in the park behind the place. These are pretty rare, in fairness, but I would recommend taking a cab home, or else going in sufficient numbers and with your wits about you, if travelling on foot.

This has been one of our locations three times now, and I'm beginning to wonder why it's not been more. Service during the day is casual, sit where you like, here's a menu, back in 5. The food selection is BBQ tastic, and is served very similarly to the big states places, on a little red tray. Nice but small craft beer selection, nice range of cocktails and spirits. There's even PBR if you're looking for the complete USA experience. My friend always goes for the Buffalo Black burger, which I have to say is phenomenal. I've varied and gone for the brisket one, and the pulled pork meal. Sides include "loaded" chilli cheese fries - which deserve a mention on their own. Burnt ends (side of more meat please!) and 'slaw. It's all been good, I've not experienced a bad bit of food there. Price isn't bad, for two of us last time it was £45. That was for the two burgers, burnt ends, mac n cheese, chilli cheese fries, and four beers. I'd like to see something like a Nashville hot chicken plate on the menu with the BBQ stuff, but other than that, this place is wonderful. It sells all of the things I like. Bravo. This place generated a ton of buzz before the doors were opened mid November, so naturally I wanted to try it! After stalking their Facebook, it seemed the best time to grab a table and avoid long waits was right at opening. My dining partner and I turned up shortly after noon on a Saturday and were seated immediately. The first thing i noticed is how intimate the venue is. There really is only a handful of tables. We opted for our own high top table as stools aren't the most comfortable seating. The menu is simple and specific. I'd check it out ahead of time so you know what you're in for. I thought the servers were great. Timing of food, not as great. They were rammed but we were the first people sat for the afternoon so I'd expect less of a wait than 25 minutes for starters. We shared some wings and beef chili cheese fries. Now, I am from Buffalo, NY. The chicken wing capitol of the world. We invented and perfected chicken wings. Its hard to compete with our wings in this country. Back to the review, here the wings were left still attached which I kinda liked. Usually you find the drums and flats separated so this was actually a nice change up. I do think they needed more sauce. Ours were nice and crispy but dry. Overall they were a nice choice for a starter. Ooh and the cheese fries are lovely and served in a little baking tin. As for my main, I had a buttermilk chicken sandwich which was juicy and crispy goodness. The roll was a bit too hard for my liking. I left most of it on my plate. But the chicken was amazing. Random fact about me: I love pickles or gherkins as you Brits call them. It's always a nice surprise to see a place over here serving pickles. I asked for some on my sandwich and only got one tiny piece. Step up your pickle game Buffalo & Rye! I almost forgot to mention the cocktails!! Such wild and crazy concoctions here. I tried a grape fizz and red kool aid inspired drink. Grape fizz blew me away. Kool aid was a bit uninspiring. Not as sweet or flavorful as I imagined. There's also milkshakes that looked wonderful. Sadly I was too full for one. I really liked this place. Although I can't see myself visiting it as often as the other BnTs, it's still worth a pop in. Plan accordingly. It's busy!
