First time ever eating here and though I am impressed with the service, I have some major issues with it also!! 1st issue - server/cook made our waffles with the very last of a batter( not the issue) that had been sitting out on the counter with no lid ( big issue)to keep things out and no gloves( huge issue) and the 2nd issue was that the main cook grabbed some raw hamburger meat patties from the fridge and without gloves, grabbed it and threw it in a pot, has blood all over her hands, grabs container, opens the fridge and THEN washes her hands!!!! Can we say cross contamination!!! The people were very sweet and nice, place was clean on the surface, food was good, but because of the lack of food safety, I'm just not thinking I would ever go back. I also agree with another reviewer, the napkins SUCKS!!!! read more

Traveling through and was hungary, looked at all the reviews for fast food in the area, 2-3 stars for all but the waffle house. It doesn't have a drive thru but I like the one by my house so I called them, placed an order and arrived. It was ready, correct, the waitresses were very nice. I ordered a BLT, an extra order of bacon for my dog who was with me, and a waffle. It was all done to perfection. We sat in the car and ate, we both enjoyed it a lot. read more

Hub and I were on the way to Denham Springs, La when we came across this location of the Waffle House. It was about 6am, the fog was terrible, and we were hungry. Hub had never had a Waffle House experience (he's from the West Coast), so I knew I had to get him properly introduced! The waffles were kick ass as usual, the staff were very friendly and fun to chat with, and the hash browns brought back many memories of college drunken nights! This is the cleanest Waffle House I have ever been to. The staff was clean as we walked in. I was very happy to see y'all take pride in y'alls place. The food was perfect and the service was awesome. Stopped in for breakfast. Tables were full so you would think they would be busy but not too busy to ignore customers wanting refills on coffee....there were at least 4 waitresses..1 carrying on an extended conversation with same customer next to us of which I waved his cup where she could see and she never acknowledged me, 1 washing dishes and the others at opposite end of counter never looking our way. My husband walked up to the counter with his cup and was told they were cleaning tables...never got him a refill!! We had time to order, eat and sat a few minutes longer....still no refill. Waitress' name was Cacynda....this will be one place we will scratch off our list..never will be back!!!!! I left 1 star only cause I didn't have the option of zero...totally poor service! read more

This place is always a packed house on the weekends, esp in the morning! I'm a sucker for their hash browns although they are famous for waffles. You can create your own hash brown masterpiece. Smothered, with onions, tomatoes, diced bell peppers and with kacthup.... It's always delicious! I love the large portions and the service is great! They always greet you with a friendly WELCOME TO WAFFLE HOUSE! as soon as you come through the door. And my son loves the Waffle House diner hats they give to the kids.... I always add something to my waffle and I ask that they cook it till brown be I hate a under cooked waffle that's on the light side. They always I do and without a fight. I've been to worse Waffle House establishments but this one in Winnie is a true down home gem! And the grits aren't that bad either depending on the cook.... read more

Today I visited the Waffle House with my 2 sons. The waitress was nice and accommodating for my son's egg allergy. While we were waiting on our food, I noticed that an employee was sweeping on the far side of the restaurant. He was sweeping hard enough that you could see the floor dust flying in the air. So I asked the waitress to have him not sweep near our table. It was 11:30 and the restaurant was pretty bare, so I didn't see an issue with avoiding our one area. The waitress clearly asked him not to sweep in that area and he acknowledged. Right on queue our food shows up, and he starts sweeping at our table, and I am just watching the floor dust fly all around. We immediately leave. The cook and waitress did there job, but it was all nullified by this sweeper because we didn't eat any of our food. read more
