SERVICE SUCKED! Love was the worst ever. Maybe she's a gem with the regulars but she's the opposite of professionalism. Just because it's a shifty area doesn't mean it has to be shifty service. I'm sure she means well, but I couldn't deal with it. We arrived. Smiles on our faces. No greeting, that's fine, folks are busy. We asked for a table. Love said, while near the table, "you'll get one when one is clean." I have a different idea of customer service. I would have attempted or pretended (while the customer is looking at me) to clean it off. She went back to deal with her people. So. We waited. And waited. Luckily Madison came and got us, cleared the table and apologized. I get low staffed, but pretend to make the effort. Hopefully Madison is a manager or promoted to one because she gets it. For me, customer service is key regardless of the location or food. My low stars are because of the waitress Love. FOOD Thank god it was good. WELL Would never return to this location.

Late night/early morning waffle fix

Like any other Waffle House, good food, nice staff, quick service. Good for a late night hunger fix. Some of the customers are sketchy to say the least. Try the five dollar menu or just stick with the usual hash browns and waffles.

Nothing like a Waffle House!

It's an old reliable breakfast spot off the highway. Good food and service every single time.

My family enjoys coming to this Waffle House every once in a while. The food is usually good, but we wish the service could be better.

I LOVE WAFFLE HOUSE! On my way to St. Louis, I had to stop. It was worth the detour. Best Hash browns ever!

“The food was spot-on: I had the ham, over-easy eggs, and hash browns, and my son got the chicken sausage--everything was cooked exactly right.”

We don't live but 30 mins away, but didn't know about this place until we saw it in the Route 66 IL…read morepassports! We stopped in for carry out - ordered a breakfast wrap & 2 burgers (1 bbq and 1 Rt 66). It's fun inside, cute signs. Wait wasn't long at all! They had a sign in book & ofc the Route 66 stamp. What could improve / could have been better: Order accuracy: I received a breakfast bowl instead of wrap. One of the burgers was a bacon burger & neither matched what we ordered but they were decent burgers! Food preparation: The hash-browns were cooked on too high of heat, so not fully done but burning in places. 3/10 at best. Carry out specifics: no napkins, no flatware. They accept card, but tips are only cash. I don't love that & would prefer somewhere be fully cash only or accept cards & allow tipping. I had called to asked prior to arrival when placing my order to inquire about cash or card & they noted card was fine, so I didn't have cash available to tip unfortunately!

If it were not for the, Illinois 66 Passport, I would have never discovered this tiny little diner…read more Teri's was not part of the original Mother Road, but her decor and themed diner pays tribute to that historical highway. Being retired, I am on a mission to experience all 66 businesses listed inside the Illinois 66 Passport. I'm experiencing the ones close to home first and then I'll work my way up to Chicago. Teri's use to be in the Route 66 Antique Mall, but now it's in downtown G City. The new location is spacious and has a minimalistic decor. There's plenty of vinyl records and Route 66 signs covering the walls. After looking the menu over, I opted for an early lunch over a late breakfast. Seeing a Jalapeño Burger on the menu, is what pushed me towards lunch. The burger came with a side of crinkle fries. The fries were extra crispy with a hot soft insides. The burger was a pleasant surprise. I was expecting a smash or a thin prepackaged burger. When my burger was served, it was a thick hand pressed burger. It covered the entire bun and the Pepper Jack Cheese draped over the edges. The jalapeños were plentiful and paired well with the onions, too. I give the burger a solid A for presentation and flavor. Teri's and Granite City is not a short drive for me, but it was and is worth the drive. If you're in G. City and getting hangry, give Teri's a try.
