Waffle House is a southern staple. A classic, if you will. I used to associate Waffle House with states that were further south, such as Georgia and the Carolinas, until they put locations in Delaware and Maryland. If you've never gone to the Waffle House after a night of partying and drinking, have you even lived? Nevertheless, during my last visit to the Atlanta area, my friend and I decided to grab breakfast at this Waffle House before heading to the airport to go home. It was within walking distance of our hotel, so it was perfect. Of course, I had to get the signature Waffle. I got a combo that included eggs, hash browns, and bacon. I was good to go. I can to this location pretty late at night, like around 1130pm. I have not encountered this before but at that time of night this Waffle House is takeout only, you can't even get inside the building. You order at a little window by the door and they then hand your food out to you from another little window just down from the first one. I don't know what time this starts and ends but I'd assume at some point during the day it's a "normal" Waffle House with the usual indoor seating. Anyway I ordered the Texas Bacon Cheesesteak sammich. It comes with hash browns but the girl taking the order said I could substitute with something else like grits or chili. Now I do love me some grits, but I've got to say grits as a side at 1130pm doesn't appeal to me. Now chili? Well I did get a cheesesteak sammich and it was like 40 degrees and raining and I did walk here and did have to walk back and I'm also standing outside due to the aforementioned policy of takeout only here at this time of night so yeah I went with the chili. Everything was good, it's Waffle House so of course you know it's getting made fresh right then and there. The samkich had a good amount of stuff in it and was served on nicely toasted and generously buttered Texas toast. Chili was good and hit the spot on this dreary night my only real complaint is that while they did include a silver (well okay fine you got me - PLASTIC) ware packet it didn't have a spoon. I stopped by this place back in September of 25', my flight had to divert back to Atlanta and after spending the night at a hotel i decided to go to a Waffle House because there aren't any locations in my state. The food was really good for the price, clean restaurant and let me just say... the service was excellent, donnie was our waitress and she was very attentive and checked in on us the perfect amount of times while we ate. I also want to point out what i noticed, a man that i believe was the manager, jean. While i was having my breakfast with my mom we overheard him training a new hire. You could hear his passion for his job. He was explaining to the new hire exactly how to get everything from the eggs to the hashbrowns to be cooked to perfection and you could genuinely hear his excitement when the new hire was getting it right. My mom and i were very grateful for the service we reviewed and also very pleased to see that management was also very involved and interested in ensuring that every meal was made with care. I told my mom i would leave a review so i took notes of their name tags but i forgot to leave the review until today when i was looking at my notes in my phone. Came here for breakfast after an early morning 6am flight from NYC to Atlanta. I arrived 9am and i was hungry and sleepy. I didn't get any waffles even though this place is a "Waffle House" Lol. I got sausage, eggs, and hash brown on toast. The portion was generous. I got a huge plate with generous portion of hash browns. I also got black coffee with unlimited refill. Late night visit to Waffle House for breakfast, had everything that I was craving. Arrived around 10pm so the place was empty, plenty of parking in the lot. I was greeted upon entering and told them I had a reservation......just kidding. I sat at the counter and reviewed the menu. I had to go with the waffles being it was the Waffle House, with a side of eggs and grits. The waffle is round, full plate size and slightly crunchy on the outside. The grits were buttery and smooth. Today I had the pleasure of being serviced by Sugar at your east point location on washington road. She was outstanding and I've never had customer service of this magnitude at a Waffle House. She greeted every person who entered. Gave impeccable customer service to everyone regardless of appearance and order. She was fast and efficient and polite while pleasant. Monday morning on August 1st 2022 one young lady working by herself because the morning people did not show up for their shift . Now let's keep in mind she just finished working the overnight shift.. She took the time to explained to us what was going on and ask that we be patient with her. But that she would take care of us which she did.. Late night stop because I was way hungry and stopped here at close to midnight. A few patrons but the place was needing quite a lot of sidework. Waffle makers were covered in leftover waffle bits. We were planning to go to Barneys and after our party of 7 waited 1 1/2 hours to get to 1st in line, we then waited another 40 minutes to be told they didn't know when we would be seated. Plus they kept seating people in front of us, not sure how they figured that would ever work out. This location was getting ready to close for dine in....they were really. They heard our story and said come on in. This made our guys day and they stuffed us with so much steak, eggs, crispy hashbrowns, and of course waffles. Since coming to Atlanta I have been to several Waffle house, they all taste about the same , not the best but they taste alright I guess if you tell them exactly how you want your food prepared they could do it and it would taste better because the ingredients seem to be fresh it's just a factor on how its cooked every chef has their own style of cooking. Walked over from the hotel for breakfast. The staff seemed to work really well as a team. The waffle really was delicious. I ordered the hash browns with both cheese and with grilled onions, a delightful flavorbomb sure to please any palate. Total bill was about $7, amazing!! read more

We arrived in town late on Thanksgiving night and they were really the only place open. We entered and had to wait a coupe minutes so they could clean a table and get us seated. Very friendly staff, especially considering they were having to work on Thanksgiving night. Service was good throughout the meal and our food was made properly and served fresh and warm. Our waitress checked on us throughout our meal making sure our drinks were topped off and that we didn't need anything else. They really went above and beyond, and in all fairness would probably normally get a 4 star ..... but they get a plus one star for the simple fact they made our meal so nice. A few things wrong with this place, small spot, no biggie, from the outside looked completely full, turned out to be different. We waited over 15 minutes to seated, to only be seated in a spot that was already available but the ceiling was leaking on the table. Staff was disorganized and looked confused at times. The young lady that took our order was multitasking and took on way more than she could handle, by taking our order, bringing the food and ringing up the take out order customers. While in town for business we needed to get our grub on early in the morning and quickly as possible. This waffle house provided just what we needed. We walked in, were greeted by the friendly servers and sat at the bar. Our server was very attentive, set up our silverware, got us some water and coffee and took our orders. The cook on the grill cranked out what we needed in a matter of minutes. Their breakfast menu is really plentiful, diverse, and cheap. I mean, you can get a whole platter with a waffle, toast, eggs, meat, hash brown potatoes and and grits for around $6 and some change. Dirt cheap, plenty good and filling. It's kind of hard to mess up breakfast and this place is always delivers. The sandwiches with egg, cheese and a meat are under $4. We made this our go-to joint for the mornings. The food was fine and they kept my coffee full, but it was very messy the last time I went in and so confusing as to who was in line for a seat and who was picking up food that I left (the staff that day wasn't very friendly). I am staying in the area off and on and have went here 3 times on night shift and everything was perfect. Went this afternoon with my partner and sit waiting for 15 minutes, as they served to-go customers, but we were just ignored while the staff sat in the office laughing and giggling. The cook apologized for the wait but couldn't he have at least gave us drinks? When the server finally comes over she seems rushed and says "What do you want?" Then she corrects her rude greeting and says "What would you like to drink?" We order our drinks and she tries to rush me right into ordering food. I like to get my drink and relax first before ordering. A restaurant turns me off pretty quickly when I feel like I'm being rushed to order, eat my meal and get out the door! Feeling rushed, I order and I have to repeat the order 3 times and then the server gets an attitude with me as if it is my fault I have to repeat my order. We left! You would think this Waffle House would have it's best people working here day and night since it's surrounded by at least 6 hotels! I love Waffle House but it's hit and miss with the Servers! Guess I will try another one! For the record I have a very simple easy order that I get everytime and I make it clear: "I would like two double Texas Bacon Patty Melts, just the sandwiches not the meal, with pickles and grilled onions... mayonnaise and Waffle House sauce on the side."
